Description
On Rylee McDermott’s 30th birthday, she doesn’t have much to show for her life. Dumped by her sometimes boyfriend, she’s living back home with her mom and stepfather number three. But when she inherits her grandmother’s bridal shop, she is determined to make it work.
Darius Wirth, host of TV’s business-rescue program, Wirth More, needs just the right fit for the show’s season one finale, one that will both wow their main sponsor enough to garner a second season and keep him from letting his father down again.
Rosie’s Bridals fits the criteria, and before long Darius and Rylee begin work on the episode. Sparks fly, despite the no-fraternizing clause in their contract. So it’s hands off.
But what’s a girl to do when all she wants is her hands on the guy? Can these two wounded hearts find both success and their way to love?

This book isn't really my normal type of read, but it was very good! This is Darius and Rylee book, Rylee inherits her grandmother bridal boutique after she passed away and Darius is the lead man in a reality show about finding businesses a little down and bringing them new life! They find themselves running into each other quite a bit! And it makes for very funny moments! This book is very sweet, funny, light story not any drama or angst just a nice move along story, so if you're looking a light feel good read this one's for you! Thank you NetGalley and wild rose press for sharing this book with me!
The story of Rylee & Darius had its ups and downs. Overall I did enjoy the book. I did find that at times the story was stilted. In my opinion there were areas that could have been shorter as well as areas I wanted more details. This was the first book by M. Kate Quinn I have read. I will definitely try another.
This was a charming little romance with a reality show twist. Rylee is an extremely likeable character, and I related to her almost immediately. Seemingly at loose ends, fate thrusts an opportunity at her and she needs to make some important decisions. Meanwhile, Darius has troubles of his own, in the form of a father with Alzheimer’s and a TV show (think Property Brothers-esque) that’s on the ropes. These two meet very cute (and extremely humorous), and the plot takes off from there. I really enjoyed most of this book. Rylee’s indecisions about everything went on a little bit too long; I wanted her to just go with SOMEthing instead of waffling so much. This was also the 4th book in a row that had somebody’s parent suffering from Alzheimer’s or dementia of some form. I realize it’s a prevalent issue, and I have my personal experiences with it, but it seems like it is becoming the “go to” illness to evoke emotion. Maybe that’s why it’s chosen? Anyway, the characters were all likeable, with the exception Darius’ friend Jake who was pretty despicable – but that was his role. The brief insights into the behind the scenes of a TV show were accurate. I loved reading how Rylee blossomed and finally found her own confidence, and the climax of the plot in the bridal shop was extremely well done. The actual ending seemed rather abrupt, especially after all of the build-up. But regardless, I definitely recommend this book, although if you’re a fan of the “business/home rehab” type of shows, you may never see them the same way after reading this book. Thank you to NetGalley, The Wild Rose Press Inc., and the author for a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Two people with life problems and work issues meet. What insues is hilarity, heartbreak, and love.
Her 30th birthday will not be one Rylee McDermott can ever forget. Her boyfriend dumped her before she could dump him, her grandmother dies – leaving her the sole owner of her bridal business – and she has an altercation in a coffee shop with a guy who makes her insides go “zoom,” but her head go “back off.”
Television personality Darius Wirth is in a bind – professionally and financially. He needs cash to keep his father in an assisted care facility and he needs a new business to promote on his will-be canceled business-fixer-upper reality show if he doesn’t.
Serendipity brings these two together. Life and love keep them together.
This was an utterly enjoyable book and I highly recommend it if you like snarky, plucky heroines, and broody, hunky-guy heroes. I do, so I loved this book!

Saying Yes to the Mess by M. Kate Quinn is a great novel about dealing with what life throws at us.
Rylee McDermott is back at Rosie’s Bridals working for her grandmother after another failed attempt at adulthood. She is expecting her boyfriend to propose on her 30th birthday, even though she doesn’t feel any “zoom” with him, but instead he tells her he is moving out of state with his new girlfriend. Darius Wirth is struggling with a father with Alzheimer’s and getting his show Wirth More renewed for another season. What happens when the two cross paths?
I loved this story though I wasn’t sure at first that I would. It is well written and the characters are great. I know I have met them all at one time or another. Parts of the book are sad and others are hysterical. This book will appeal to a wide audience from twenty-year-olds to seniors like me. I give it 5 of 5 stars.

Saying Yes to the Dress is an enjoyable read. When Rosie's Grandmother dies she leaves her her much loved Bridal shop, having never settled to one job for long Rosie does not think she has what it takes to continue her grandmothers legacy.
Darius Wirth fronts a reality show that helps out small businesses and gets them on track to be a success, when visiting his father's nursing home for people with dementia he spots Rosie's shop and feels it would be perfect for the show. They met previously in a coffee shop and Darius had already found Rosie to be quirky and attractive so he felt it was a win win situation. There are some funny and sad moments along the way but no great drama, it did seem to be too padded out before these two got together, then as soon as they did....end of story, an epilogue would have probably finished it off for the better.
A light read but entertaining enough.

It is tough when you are back at your grandma's home and working in the bridal shop which wasn't your dream. You love granny and are trying to help...but when your fiance' let's you know he is moving away with his girlfriend you knew nothing about...that is hard. Then when your sweet granny passes away leaving you with the shop that is barely getting by...you are heartbroken and feeling at your lowest...
Another who is at his lowest is the host of Wirth More, the reality show which takes losing businesses and turns them around. Darius Wirth is having his own stressors; his father has Alzheimer’s and the costs of his care is extreme. He has been offered a second season but he needs to come up with a huge winner.
After running into Rylee McDermott in ways more times then he should, both of them realize they could be the answer to each's problems. There are contracts with rules...and one of them becomes a bigger issue then they ever anticipated... no hanky panky.
A quick read and had some heartfelt moments.
A well written romance. I enjoyed the plot, characters and the author’s writing. I look forward to reading more of her books. My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my digital arc. This is my unbiased review.
This fun read happily fed two of my addictions...romance and "reality" television. Saying Yes to the Mess puts a spin on the "Bar Rescue" type of show, where the reality crew comes into a struggling small business (in this case, a bridal shop) and helps the owner make changes to ultimately improve the business and succeed. The host (Darius) is a handsome devil (of course!) and our heroine is struggling with a lack of confidence and a string of bad luck...When she inherits the small town beloved bridal shop (where she's worked off and on for years) from her grandmother, almost no one believes she can make it work, especially herself. Our hero has his own challenges--his father suffers from Alzheimers and is in a home--a very expensive home that is reliant on the ongoing success of his reality show. These two have instant chemistry--but the "show" and the success of Rylee's business is more important....or is it? I loved the exploration of the various relationships in this book--the complex Mother/Daughter relationship; the Father/Son relationship--when the Father has mostly forgotten everything; the friendships; the presence of the grandmother and her relationship with our heroine and the town and all her past brides--she is present throughout the book, even though she, herself, is not. The connection between Rylee and Darius felt very real and strong. I really enjoyed some of the "behind the scenes" looks at the "reality" show in the making and would have enjoyed more of that--it added depth to the story and gave Rylee a demon to battle, in a way. It also helped us learn more about Darius, and who he really is. I believe this is the beginning of a series, but this is a complete story on its own with no cliffhanger. The book did wrap up rather abruptly for me personally--after such carefully developed, well thought out scenes throughout the book, this last one felt rather rushed, and I would have liked to savor it a bit more. But over all the book is terrific; I found it very entertaining and fun to read.
I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
The only complaint that I had with this book was that it got over too soon. Well, that is not exactly a negative thing. Everything has been put together nicely in the creation of a charming sweet little romance. It will tug at your heartstrings, will make you shed some happy tears and what is more, it has a perfect ending. I was curious how Darius and Rylee come around their respective hurdles and I was delighted at the way the author made it happen. I was in a state of zooming throughout. So could you blame my fragile heart for demanding more of the cute couple?
Altogether a beautiful tale of love, parental care and acts of courage that you could finish in one sitting. Happy reading everyone!
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the gift of the arc in exchange for this my honest review.
