Description
Solace provides comfort for those in sorrow and is a book to help those in grief to mourn, and realize that their lives are so very important. It is a spiritual book written from the perspective of the deceased. As I was writing this book I knew full well I was holding the pen, and yet I also felt I was being guided to write each verse.
Bernard Philips was born in Bootle, Liverpool , England. At age sixteen years and six months old he joined Her Majestys Armed Forces, Royal Corps of Signals, and served as a professional soldier for twelve years, including a tour of service with 22nd Special Air Service Regiment. As a serving soldier he was posted in many parts of the world. His plain, clear, and conversational style of writing comes from having to encrypt and transmit, by Morse code, short messages and yet, still give the big picture of information. He really began writing in 1977, during the years when he was a hard-core club runner with the Longboat Road Runners in Toronto, Canada. His main body of unpublished work is poetry of gut level romanticism. Therefore, it was a major turnaround to suddenly change topic and write Solace. He lives in Milton, Ontario, Canada.
