Description
In 2230 Lieutenant Sunny Blake is fighting for the survival of the human race. The future is bleak until an alien device is found that allows teleportation and time-travel. A plan is made to bring some of Earth’s most elite warriors from the past into the future. Sunny is ordered to retrieve Jefferson W. Stone. She knows Stone’s expertise on the battlefield from studying his operational strategy during her military training. She also knows his expertise off the battlefield from a tell-all memoir written by his lovers.
In 2125, Lieutenant Jefferson W. Stone is trapped in a canyon in enemy territory, out of ammunition, mortally wounded and seconds from death. The enemy is closing in on him when an apparition appears, attacks him and whisks him away. He wakes a hundred and five years in the future, and is given a choice…stay and fight for the survival of the human race, or return to his time and die. Stone doesn’t mind fighting, in fact he’s looking forward to it, but it’s the expectation that he choose a woman and reproduce that has him reluctant to stay.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I generally love sci fi romance novels. This is my first time reading this author and this novel was a pleasant surprise. The idea that women are fighting to survive an alien invasion and need to time travel to get men to help and repopulate the earth is not a plot I've seen before in this genre. So kudos to the author for an innovative and interesting plot. I liked the heroine, smart and brave and the hero is your typical Arrogant, alpha variety. My only disappointment is that the author did not do more with this story. A reimagined earth with mostly women defining their future deserves more than a few pages of battle and grit.
The minute Stone shows up, Sunny loses her commanding presence and is subjected to Stones sexual prowess, demands and criticism. It progresses with the idea that these women need men to guide and save them instead of an equal partnership. These women who have battled these aliens on their own for years all of sudden as soon as these men show up become submissive and are easily overpowered by them.
This is the beginning of what could be a great series as long as these women realize their own power and strength.
