Thanks for the early review copy!
I recommend this book to fans of young adult fiction. I've read a lot of YA and really enjoyed this one!
I absolutely adored this book. I loved the setting, the pacing, the characters. All of it was well crafted and kept me engaged the entire time I was reading it. I read it all in a day because I couldn't put it down! Ann is a compelling Main Character and the side characters are just as intriguing.
Would love to read more from this world! an absolute 5/5 for me!
I wasn't sure what to expect with this book. The cover looked intriguing. There wasn't much of a description to go off of, but I decided to read it anyways.
Once I started reading I couldn't put the book down. M.K. Hawkins did a really good job of keeping the reader in the dark with what was going on and giving just enough information to drive the storyline.
I look forward to reading more books by this author.
I came into this not having any idea what the book was about and just so curious. I loved this book. I am so glad that I started reading it with a fresh slate. Ann was such a strong amazing young lady that found herself in a strange place without any memories and an injury that she had no idea how she got it. This was an entertaining, fun, and fast paced booked that got better with each page. I am so exited to read the next book in the series. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to write about this book after I read it.
I absolutely devoured this book. From the first word to the last, I could not stop reading.
Everything about The Reader was perfect! The characters, the conflict, the twist.
The author crafted a believable world for the Readers to live in. I could picture the compound clearly while reading.
Ann kicked butt as the protagonist. Even with no memory, she was whiny or weak. She could have absolutely crumbled multiple times in this story but she kept on going. Getting stronger and more sure of herself with each page you can’t help but root for her.
Devon made me want to smack him a little bit. But by the end of the story I loved him like I love Ann.
Do yourself a favor and read this book. You won’t be sorry!
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I was curious to read this book when I saw the cover and read the description and it turned out that my feeling had not fooled me: this is really a great book. I liked how close the reader is to the protagonist Ann and how you can really understand her feelings and decisions. I also enjoyed reading about all the other characters and the exciting science fiction/fantasy story featuring seers, jacks and readers. Besides that, the love story was also very nice-written and I enjoyed it. I can defintely recommend this book!
