Country music star Destiny returns to a place from her childhood, and her real name of Holly Stone, to avoid a stalker that has been threatening her. Arriving in a small town in New York, she thinks she will be safe, but she quickly finds out that isn't the case in Lillian Duncan's The Christmas Stalking.

This book has several things that I like about it. First, it is enjoyable to read. The plot moves along well and the characters are easy to picture and relate to . Lillian Duncan did a good job of making them realistic.

I like books that are hard to quit reading, and this one definitely fits that description. I read the first chapter and then wanted to read as much as I could.

Trusting God for guidance and provision is very evident in the plot. Though Holly had gotten lost in the rush and cares of a famous lifestyle, she returns to her roots of faith. When the characters talk about their faith, it sounds like it really is a part of how they live, not a show they put on.

The only thing that I would be able to say against the book is that I was sorry to see it end. I liked that it finished on a happy note, but it was such a good story that I wasn't ready for it to be over.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

This is a zippy little mystery that can be read in one sitting. Destiny, aka Holly is famous singer who is being stalked and ends up going home for a much needed break. Holly is a sympathetic character and there are just enough twists, turns and red herrings to keep the reader engaged in who might be stalking her.

I also appreciated the author's willingness to share her faith through her protagonist.

Thank you to Lillian Duncan and Netgalley for giving me this copy in exchange for an honest review.

I read this book in one go. It was a pleasant little book. The suspense was until the end and I could not have guessed it. The story was well told even though I felt like it went too fast at some points. There is a bit of religion in it but not too much, just the good mixture.

Nice short story. No one wants a stalker but especially not at Christmas. Holly is a celebrity singer who has just that. So she escapes to a family cabin thinking she can escape her stalker. Follow her Christmas at the cabin. Nice book, was well written. Nice believeable characters. Really enjoyed this book

Christmas Stalking by Lillian Duncan is a mystery with multiple suspects once the story begins to unfold. Holly Stone, aka Destiny, is a famous singer in Nashville who is being pursued by a stalker. She has received emails and a package containing a dead cat. She decides to turn her trademark long blonde hair back to its natural color and go to her late grandparents’ cabin in the woods to hide out until the stalker is found. She hasn’t been there since she was twelve so she is hoping no one will recognize her. That hope is quickly dashed as she is stopped for speeding by the sheriff who was a playmate in the past. He tells her he will not give her a ticket if she will have a hot chocolate with him and catch up with their lives. She agrees and he escorts her to the cabin as the roads are snow covered and it is remote. She does tell him why she is there and he agrees to keep her safe and help her as much as he can. What happens when the stalker finds out her location and threatens to kill her? Will Robb be able to protect her or will he become suspect?
I enjoyed this story and read it quickly. I did suspect the stalker might be but had no idea why he was obsessed with her until the end. I give this book a 5 of 5 stars. I was a bit hesitant to request it as I thought it might be too much of a downer for Christmas but I was pleasantly surprised. The stalker parts are not too graphic and the Christmas joy overrides much of it. I was rooting for Holly to be freed from hiding from her unknown stalker. The ending comes together very nicely and all the loose ends are tied up with a lovely Christmas bow!
I received an advance copy of this book through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Holly Stone a.k.a "Destiny" the world renown and loved country singer is travelling alone to Serenity for the Christmas holidays. Serenity is where Holly spent her summers as a child with her grandparents who have been deceased for many years. Holly had to get away from Nashville due to the harmful and frightening threats she has been receiving from a stalker for the last month since her security team hasn't been able to discover (his or her) identity and the horrific present she last received was the last straw for her to stay put. As she pulls into town she is stopped by a policeman for speeding and it so happens he is a very attractive one at that. Maybe Serenity wasn't such a bad idea at that.

This was an enjoyable and fast holiday mystery that kept you guessing. Holly has a test of faith and strength that she didn't know she was capable of and a case of falling in love being a possibility also unless the stalker had followed her to the peaceful Serenity. While enjoyable, the story was a little too sugary sweet for my taste and how two people can call in love in two or three days and form their futures was quite a stretch. If you are looking for a short Christmas mystery book I would definitely recommend adding this to your reading. It actually was a fun read and had some nice moments of faith added in the mix.

I want to thank the publisher "Penguin Books" and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this story and any thoughts and opinions expressed are unbiased and mine alone!

I have given a rating of 3 🎄🎄🎄Christmas Stalking Stars!!
