MEET ME UNDER THE MISTLETOE is my first book by JoAnn Durgin, an inspirational clean romance. It's the short story of Jake and Julia. Jake is a firefighter and Julia a nurse and the younger sister of Jake's best friend. The story is also about Starlight, the town and it's quirky residents. It's a great story of love and a reminder that God's timeline is different from ours.

Great short inspirational novel. Jake is so conservative and religious he's nearly unrealistic, but you will love his character anyway! This book upholds good Christian values and reminds us to live in faith and that God's timeline is not the same as ours. Wonderful 'feel good' read. It's a perfect example of a good Hallmark Christmas movie. Enjoy!

Meet Me Under the Mistletoe by JoAnn Durgin is a sweet Christmas romance and quick read.
Jake is a firefighter who lives in his family home. In his spare time, he repairs toys to begiven to underprivileged children at Christmas. He prays for each child who might receive the toy as he repairs them. His best friend Dylan is also a fellow firefighter. Dylan’s sister, Julia, is a pediatric nurse in another town. Jake meets her when she comes to visit and is drawn to her but there is one problem, she is engaged to someone else. Or is she?
I really enjoyed this book. The characters all display Christian attitudes though the book is not at all preachy. The characters are very realistically portrayed. Jake is at times like a big kid as he stumbles through his life though a focused and tough firefighter. Julia can be very “take charge” and yet gentle and compassionate as one would expect a pediatric nurse would need to be. The story was touching and serious at times and funny at others. I read it in one day with some interruptions so it is a nice story when you need a break from the seasonal rush. I give this book 5 of 5 stars. It will appeal to women of a wide range of ages and would make a nice gift.
I received an advance copy of this book through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
