I received a free copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review from Netgalley. This book was a simple novella. Boy and girl meet as kiss and fall in love. Girls dad dies, girls brother kicks boy out, not returns years later for revenge but finds love renewed. Killed a hour reading the book so not a bad way to spend a little time.
3 1/2 Star Review.....
Ransomed Hope is your typical second chance romance, where misunderstandings and broken hearts have lead to years of bitterness and disillusionment. Coming back together after over a decade, Ashley and Manuel will need to resolve some deeply painful truths before the past can be put to rest. This is a really short novella and one that can easily be read in little over an hour, and was a nice afternoon escape.
This is a book that is full of emotion and will hold your attention. If you are looking for a short read that will pull at your heart, here it is. I really enjoyed this book. Thank you Pelican Book Group via NetGalley for the free copy of this book. This is my honest opinion.
Ransomed Hope is an enjoyable inspirational romance. A good clean and fast read. I received an arc from Netgalley and this is my unbiased review.
Ransomed Hope by Deborah Pierson Dill is a story of love, forgiveness and hope.
Manuel has worked on the Tennent farm since he was taken in as a foster child by Franklin. Franklin has now passed away and left everything to his son Brandon who has always been jealous of Manuel. Brandon immediately evicts Manuel from the property with nothing to his name. Brandon’s sister, Ashley was left nothing also. Ashley and Manuel have been in love for years and he promises her he will come back. Franklin had given him some land and a house in need of much repair years earlier. Seventeen years go by before Manuel returns. Ashley eventually married someone else after many years of hoping for Manuel to return; he has now passed away. Brandon has gambled and drank the money away and the bank is about to foreclose. What will become of them? How will Ashley be able to support the two of them when they have to leave the ranch?
I really enjoyed this short story. The author packs so much into it! The characters all struggle with doing what God expects of Christians and what they really want to do. Will God be in control? Forgiveness is needed on several levels throughout the story. I give this book 5 of 5 stars. I was quickly immersed in the story line and read it in one day; I couldn’t put it down. It will appeal to a wide audience of women and would make a great gift.
I received an advance copy of this book through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
Ransomed Hope by Deborah Pierson Dill is a quick and short read. There is betrayal, revenge and redemption. Ashley and Manuel were in love as teens but when her father dies her brother kicks out Manuel. Ashley marries her brother's friend because she feels betrayed. But when Manuel returns 10 years later for revenge will there be any hope for them.
I received this book from NetGalley and all opinions are my own.
