Close Encounters of the Night Kind – 5 StarsThis was a book I was literally sucked into and it would not allow me to put in down. I was so completely engrossed in the plot that I literally lost track of time. It was breathtaking, heartbreaking, and so well written that the vividness of the details came to life right before my eyes. This was a heart wrenching love story that brought tears to my eyes many times and reaffirmed my belief that love is truly the most Divine and inspiring gift we can ever hope to receive. Sassafrass's Reviews - 4 Stars DELIGHTING IN YOUR COMPANY was so interesting. I was intrigued by the blurb because I had no idea how the author was going to pull off the story. I was pleasantly surprised. I think the notion of the island legends and magic help lend to the overall tone of the story. Yes, it's paranormal romance, so you're supposed to suspend reality, but the historical accuracy of the island made the plot even better. This is my first time reading a novel by Blair McDowell, but she got me so wrapped up in the world she created in this book, I don't believe that it will be my last.
Black Hippie Chick’s Take On Books - 5 Stars When I first began this book, I thought that I wouldn’t like it because it dealt with the slave trade. I was delightfully wrong! I found myself sucked in to the story very early on.
