I am a devout crock pot user and I found a lot of new ideas for different meals in this book. I like that there are recipes that are good for everyday meals, but there are also some that would work for a fancier dinner type event.

The Crock-Pot Ladies Big Book of Slow Cooker Dinners is a wonderful addition to my cookbooks. I am always looking for healthy, easy meals to make for my family and this ticks all my boxes. It includes healthy, easy to follow, yummy recipes for the whole family to enjoy.

I also found the additional information in the cookbook with some great tips and tricks extremely helpful. I only rediscovered my love for my slow cooker after having children and now I'd be lost without it. I meal prep the night before, throw everything in the slow cooker in the morning and don't have to rush at the last minute to prepare a meal during the witching hour. This book adds to the variety I can offer my family too.

Thank you to #netgalley and the authors and publisher for the copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What an excellent collection of crock pot recipes. The book is laid out so that it is easy to understand. It has beautiful color photos to display the dishes. I would definitely add this to my recipe book collection. Worth every penny.

I can't wait to try several of these recipes! Great color photos accompany the recipes in this outstanding collection.

I know that instant pots are the rage, but I am still using my slow cooker and have not invested in the instant pot and so I was excited to get this arc. There is a lot of helpful information at the beginning of the book about slow cookers, freezing food, and troubleshooting. I'm really excited to try some of the soups, chilis and stew recipes. I only wish that they had nutritional information included, otherwise, it's a great book.

What a wonderful, easy book to use in the modern day kitchen! Who doesn't love to come home to a warm, aroma-filled kitchen- and to a delicious, one-pot meal? I've already tried two of the recipes, and can't wait to make more of these crock pot meals.

The ladies begin by informing you as to what kind of crockpot you need and why it is important. You are also given instructions on how to use a slow cooker and what the temperatures are for cooking different types of meats.
This is not a healthy cookbook, it is a comfort food cookbook!
There are recipes for Spicy Jalepeno Popper Dip using different types of cheeses and peppers and bread crumbs, Everything You Love About Pizza Dip using mozzarella, parmesan cheese, Italian sausage and pizza sauce and a Southwestern Creamy White Chicken using chicken, broth, Great Northern Beans and corn that sound delicious and warming on a cold winters’ day.
Many of the recipes use frozen, fresh or easy to precook foods that make dinner preparation easy and fun to do!

I have died and gone to heaven, a 300+ page of recipes all designed for my favourite appliance in the house, my slow cooker! I love using the slow cooker when cooking for my family, especially given the many time constraints in our daily lives. The recipes in this book are diverse, family friendly, user friendly and to be quite honest, all sound delicious. I had not previously heard of the Crock-Pot Ladies but have now signed up to their facebook page and also applied to join their online group. I look forward to trying out a lot of the recipes in the book. Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and Ms. Kennedy, Ms Handing and Ms Ince for the opportunity to review The Big Book of Slow Cooker Dinners in exchange for an honest review.

A fantastic start to my diet after reading this cook book, I went out and brought a slow cooker. I loved the bright colours in the pictures and bests of all the hint and tips though out the book.
It totally opened up my thought on slow cooker, I have tried some of the soups which I chucked everything and then went to work, the smell when I walk though the door after work was so tempting I had to eat it straight away. I love the hints from the author when cooking for picky children, they really helped. This has definitely opened up my dinner ideas

The Crock-Pot Ladies Big Book of Slow Cooker Dinners truly lives up to its title as the book contains plenty of varied recipes ranging from Chicken to game such as bison. At the start of the cookbook you will find a Slow Cooker's Buyer's Guide that details how to select a slow cooker. Later you will read a size guide that tells about the different sizes of slow cookers and how many people they will serve. For example a 1 to 3 quart slow cooker is perfect for 1 to 2 people while a 8 quart or large slow cooker will serve 9 or more people.

I loved the section that listed some of the freezer friendly recipes you'll find in the Crock-Pot Ladies Big Book of Slow Cooker Dinners. Some of the freezer friendly recipes suggested include:

Fresh Pork Sausage Meatballs
Simple Garlic-Brown Sugar Chicken
Mouthwatering Boneless Beef Ribs

Some of the other recipes you'll find in the cookbook include:

Mexican Margarita Chicken Dip
Creamy New England Clam Chowder
Hearty Steak and Bean Chili
Sour Cream Chicken Noodle Casserole
Easy Peasy Baked Spaghetti
Simple Ravioli Casserole
Perfect Slow-Roasted Herbed Chicken
Whole Roasted Rosemary Chicken
No-Fuss Chicken Marsala
Roasted Turkey Breast with Oranges and Herbs
Delicious Turkey Pot Pie
Simmered Sloppy Joes
BBQ Ranch Meatloaf
Super Easy Slow-Cooked Taco Meat
Perfect Roast Beef and Gravy
Hearty Bison Pot Roast with Potatoes and Carrots
Venison Gyros with Tzatziki Sauce
Drunken Peach Whiskey Pork Chops
Honey Pork Chops with Apples
Simply the Best Baked Pineapple Ham
Autumn Cranberry and Orange Pork Roast
Slow-Cooked Pork Loin and Stuffing
Cheesy Chili Corn Bread Casserole
Perfect Parmesan Spaghetti Squash
Sweet Root Beer Baked Beans
Super Cheesy Broccoli

Recommend.

The Crock-Pot Ladies Big Book of Slow Cooker Dinners is just that. It is 300+ pages of scrumptious and mouth watering recipes. I have bookmarked more recipes than I probably have time to make! All the recipes, as the title suggests, are made in the crock pot. The chapters include: appetizers, dips, stews, chili, soups, pasta, casseroles, poultry, beef, venison, bison, pork, lamb, veggies for dinner and sides, and finally desserts. There is advice on what crock pot to buy, how to test your crock pot, how to clean your crock pot, well I guess you get the idea. I don't think the authors left anything out. It has arrived for the perfect time of year when we all would like to have something hot waiting for us when we come home.
Thank you to the publisher, the authors and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

There was a time when I would have bet money on never owning or using a crock-pot. Then reality set it, and a job that had me out of the house by 4 am and often not home until 5 pm happened, and making dinner meant picking up take out on the way home. Not very healthy and I knew something had to change, but what was the answer? I thought about the crock-pot I never thought I would own, read a cookbook to see how I could use it, bought one, and never looked back. Meals were now in my control and often I would make enough to freeze the leftovers and have frozen healthy choices( sorry Pizza Guy on speed dial, but it was just time to say goodbye).
That first crock-pot lasted for years and when it finally died, I went right out and got a newer model. I still use it often and I continue to get cookbooks to try new recipes. This book is family oriented( large portions) but it is easy enough to either adjust the recipe or to once again have leftovers. There are over 300 recipes and they are arranged in sections: Appetizers and Dips, Soups,Broths,Chilis, and Stews, Grain, Pasta Dishes, and Casseroles, Chicken,Turkey, and Game Birds, Beef,Bison, and Venison, Pork and Lamb,Vegetable Main Courses,Vegetable Sides,Desserts and Sweet Treats, and Staples:Homemade Stocks, Sauces, and Seasoning Mixes. The Introduction has useful information on buying and using a slow cooker, which I went through quickly, but if it was my first one, it would have been quite helpful.
Every recipe does not have a picture, but for me, a slow cooker recipe book is the only one where I don't mind. Everything goes in together and comes out together, so I don't need visual validation that I have correctly followed the recipe. What I did miss was nutritional information. Granted, I know some of these recipes were not going to work for me since for example, I don't use canned cream of anything soup, but, it is nice to have that information without having to look up individual ingredients. So far, I have made the Chicken, Butternut Squash, and Quinoa Soup, the American Beef Goulash, and the Healthy Black Bean Brownies. The recipes are straightforward, don't have any hard to find ingredients, and the recipes I tried tasted great!
Whether you are thinking of getting a slow cooker or have been using one for years, there is good basic information as well as a nice variety of recipes.
I received a DRC from Quarto Publishing Group – Harvard Common Press through NetGalley.

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.

Over three hundred pages of help and yummy recipes. In the front it goes through what size a family you have vs what amount you will need to cook (SO helpful!) It also goes through crock pot use. The recipes include not only main meals, but appetizers, different kinds of meat, soups, and desserts!
Great addition to any kitchen, especially one where time is valued!

I really enjoyed this book. Even though I don't have a busy family life, I have a chronic illness that makes it hard to keep up with work, my home and feeding myself. Enter The Crock-Pot Ladies Big Book of Slow Cooker Dinners. I have a Crock-Pot but have never utilized it. After reading this book, I saw so many recopies that I could create with minimal cooking time. I can't wait to come home and try enjoy cheesy broccoli or lasagna rolls. Having minimal prep times, means better meals for me and more rest for my body.
The only issue is that these are family size meals. The authors recognize this and tell you how to cute down recipes and freezing tips for meals. For me, these will create a number of lunch I can reheat at work.
I recommend this book to anyone who needs a little hand in the kitchen!

So this book I discovered on NetGalley, but it was no longer available for request except through "the wish list". So I wish requested it and received it! I feel really lucky because the recipes are just amazing. I have been a crock-pot cooker for ages. But my cooking with it mostly was surrounded by the same meals, roast beef, roast pork and a few misc. soup recipes. That was it.

This book gives me wonderful ideas that never crossed my mind. I will be making the recipe on page 78 for tonight's dinner. And from there on, the choices are endless. I'm so excited to try them all out!

I received an ebook copy through NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.

Today’s cook is looking for more ways to make cooking at home faster and easier. The days of running through the drive through on the way home are slowly disappearing as we learn how this contributes to our obesity epidemic. Right now every cook is interested in three hot small appliances in the kitchen: slow cooker, air fryer, and pressure cooker. However, non of these are as intuitive as stove or oven cooking, so cookbooks like “The Crock-Pot Ladies Big Book of Slow Cooker Dinners” come to the rescue.

First of all this book is Big. Recipes are available that can truly meet the needs of most families, with a nod to cuisines of several cultures. Instructions on how to use and care for a slow cooker are included with lots of tips and hints. Even recipes using bison and venison are included.

If you are new to slow cooking, almost any kind of meal is included, with a slight bit of repetition, such as multiple forms of ribs. This gives the home cook a very good idea of what a slow cooker can do. Of course slow cookers are made specifically with cooking meat in mind, so the majority of the recipes do rely on meat. Although I was impressed with a section on meat free main courses. In addition, it is noted that slow cookers are not the best option for fish or seafood.

To me, the best part of the book is the dozens of dessert recipes. These sound very tempting and I can hardly wait to try the creme brûlée.

If there are negatives to “The Crock-Pot Ladies Big Book of Slow Cooker Dinners”, I would say it is a shortage of photos, and lack of direction for the cook looking to avoid canned beans, soups, etc. But, many cooks using the slow cooker to make life easier will find plenty of ways to build their own prepared freezer meals to pop in when life is hectic, giving them totally from scratch meals.

As families move back to home cooking and cooks rediscover the convenience of slow cooking, “The Crock-Pot Ladies Big Book of Slow Cooker Dinners”. has the potential to become a core cookbook in their collection. In addition, the authors are bloggers to be followed online as they keep experimenting and creating.

I cook a lot of crockpot meals and am always looking for new recipes. The best thing about this book was, I have almost every ingredient in my kitchen that is in these recipes. One of our new favorite recipes is the chicken mole. Who knew it was so easy to make and with ingredients that anyone would have. Though there is only about 10 pictures in the whole book, I was still able to picture what the final recipe would look like. I also found the ladies Facebook and website, where many of the recipes were listed with pictures, as well as many other recipes that I loved as well. This would make a great gift to go with a crockpot for any newlywed.

I’m always happy to learn new recipes for my slow cooker. Nothing is better on a cold day than to smell the delicious aroma that fills the house while the crock-pot cooks away.

THE CROCK-POT LADIES BIG BOOK OF SLOW COOKER DINNERS is as good a cookbook as you’ll find. It begins with the introduction, SLOW COOKER MAGIC which is everything you need to know about buying and using the best slow cooker. Each chapter that follows is filled with wonderful recipes. And not just dinner ones as the title suggests. From appetizers to entrees and sauces to desserts, you’ll find something for everyone’s tastes.

Prepare your taste buds for recipes like . . . Warm Broccoli and Cheese Dip, Sweet-and-Sour Pineapple Little Smokies, Decadent Lobster Bisque, Tex-Mex Chicken Taco Soup, Kid-Friendly Cheesy Bacon Ranch Pasta, Simple Ravioli Casserole, N0-Fuss Chicken Marsala, Delicious Turkey Potpie, Cornish Game Hens and Potatoes, Cheeseburger Sloppy Joes, Salisbury Steak Meatballs, Spicy BBQ Bison Brisket, Asian Pork Lo Mein, Spicy Sausage and Rotini, Crustless Veggie Pie, So-Easy Coconut Quinoa Curry, Tart Apple Crumble, Sweet-Sugar Cookie Party Mix, Lemony Lemon Spon Cake, Pizza Sauce, Italian Dressing Spice Mix, Au Jus Mix, and so very much more!

There aren’t many photos in this book. I prefer mine filled with them. But the large color photos that are included will make your tumbly rumbly. The recipes range from easy to follow, to a little more in depth. From classic, to revamped with a twist, your mouth will water with every page.

With THE CROCK-POT LADIES BIG BOOK OF SLOW COOKER DINNERS, authors Heidi Kennedy, Katie Handling, and Sarah Ince will have you breaking out your slow cooker every day!

Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! If I could give this cookbook 10 stars, I would. There are so many recipes here that are easy to make and will taste good. I have already earmarked many of them to try out and I’m not a busy working mother of a family… I am in my early 60s and heading towards retirement and just cooking for me and my husband. And if I find these recipes valuable, then so many more will!

The book is beautifully laid out, easy to find certain recipes, attractive inside and out, and there are full-color gorgeous pictures scattered throughout. The only thing missing, in my humble opinion, is nutritional information.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and publisher for an advanced reading copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you Quarto for allowing me to review The Crockpot Ladies Big Book of Slow Cooker Dinners. Publishing November 6, 2018.

The slow cooker and I have a very temperamental relationship. I do love having something made on days when I can not be in the kitchen though. This book has the widest variety of meals for the slow cooker that I have seen in a while. Great for when you want something ready that isn’t stew or the usual meal. I would highly recommend this to busy families who want to try something new in the slow cooker!

The Crock-Pot Ladies Big Book of Slow Cooker Dinners by Heidi Kennedy, Katie Handing, and Sarah Ince is full of recipes for more than just dinner. It includes everything from appetizers to desserts. I was happy to see that the recipes went beyond the "add these ingredients and cream of whatever soup". I also liked that the size of crock pot required was clearly noted for each recipe. I served the Beefy Au Gratin Potatoes after a day of running errands. They were full of flavor, but the potatoes were not mushy. I have marked several other recipes to try which is the sign of a good cookbook.

Really enjoyed this Crock-Pot cookbook! (I sometimes call my crock pot, my "crack pot" because it makes the most delicious meals for little work.) I really appreciated that they said which recipes are freezer-friendly. I am trying to make more freezer meals for my future self and to give out to others. I marked a lot of recipes I want to try, but so far these were hits with the family: Aloha Pineapple chicken, Super Simple Beef Tips, and Bubbly Italian Lasagna Dip. It also has a good "how to" in the beginning of the book for people that are newbies or those that need helpful tips/ reminders. I also liked the tip of using a cheese grater for onions. We hate chopped onions in our house, so I usually omit them. Might have to try that once!

(Posted reviews to Amazon and Goodreads too)

The popularity of the Instant Pot has made the good old fashioned slow cooker less popular, since most Instant Pots and other multi-cookers have slow cooker functions. Unfortunately, the slow cooker function on Instant pots and multi cookers seems to cook at a higher level which takes a bit of adjusting when you use the actual slow cooker function on them. However, Heidi Kennedy, Katie Handing, and Sarah Ince, the authors of the excellent cookbook The Crock-Pot Ladies Big Book of Slow Cooker Dinners: More Than 300 Fabulous and Fuss-Free Recipes for Families on the Go note that although they used regular slow cookers for their testing, the others are definitely suitable for preparing their recipes.

This cookbook caters to busy cooks who sometimes rely on convenience foods (i.e. frozen meatballs, commercial sauces and mixes), and want to make quick dinners. There are recipes for everyone, from singles to those with large families to empty nesters. The variety of dishes is excellent: appetizers, mains, soups and stews, vegetables, and desserts with influences from all over the globe. The different dishes sound appetizing, and there is enough variety that it’s easy to look for ingredients in the fridge and find something in the book to use it in.

There is a recipe for Bacon Au Gratin Cauliflower that is so good, it’s reason enough to purchase this cookbook. It’s also great using broccoli. Savory Zucchini Gratin was yummy, as well as Brown Sugar and Balsamic Glazed Chicken (a new go-to favorite), and Cheesy Mexican Black Bean Taco Dip. Two luscious desserts include Lemony Lemon Spoon Cake and German Chocolate Spoon Cake, both starting with cake mixes to speed up preparation. The Classic Apple Crisp wasn’t a favorite, but with the addition of extra flour on the apples (too runny for us) and some flour added to the topping, it turned out delicious (personal preferences – nothing wrong with the recipes).

Heidi, Katie, and Sarah shame on you! There are only one or two photographs in each chapter. In this modern day, there is no excuse for not including pictures. Most of us are spoiled and want to see what we are cooking and what the dish should look like when it’s finished. Other than that, and the fact that a few recipes could use a bit of adjustment (due to altitude, personal taste, etc.) this is an excellent book. The recipes are written simply with good easy-to-understand instructions. Albeit the lack of pictures most cooks will find dozens of mouthwatering recipes to add to their queue, and will turn back time to rely on their slow cookers again. Highly recommended.

I didn't find the recipes particularly unique or particularly easy, but there are a few good ones. Not many pictures but the title is catchy. I think it would probably circulate well because slow cooking is so popular and the cover is attractive.

This book is comfort food in a slow cooker. Most ingredients you could probably find in a well stocked pantry. Amazing poultry and beef recipes! There's even wild game and more than usual lamb recipes. The tips are fabulous. For the amount of recipes there were, there weren't nearly enough pictures.

This is a book that you might think would be things you see in every other book of this type, but you will be greatly surprised! This book offers new and surprising ideas for yummy dinners that you might not normally think of. This is a great addition to any busy cook's home and recipe books. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves their slow cooker, but needs some new refreshing recipes. I highly recommend this book.

Thank you to the authors, publisher and Netgalley for the privilege of reading this in advance.

This is a fantastic book! So many recipes that you'll never get bored. And all of them are doable with regular old groceries that pretty much everyone keeps around the house. The photos are mouthwatering, and the variety of dishes is amazing. This isn't gourmet cooking; it's rib sticking, delicious food that makes families happy. That being said, I'd be happy to prepare any of these dishes for company, for example, the Italian Beef Stew with Red Wine or the Maple Smokehouse Chicken, or, really, any of these fantastic meals. My crockpot has been getting a real workout with this book.

Many thanks to NetGalley, Harvard Common Press, and the Crock-Pot Ladies for the opportunity to read and review this cookbook.

I love my Crock-pot but this book has really opened up what it could do. Besides the recipes for soup and stews that we're all familiar with, there are a ton of unusual recipes in here for appetizers and desserts. I even learned how to get that annoying white line out of my crock! Best of all, these recipes are developed using things you already have at home - no weird ingredients to hunt down (well, maybe except for the venison and bison section!). I wish more cookbooks included nutritional information - I received an ARC of this book so maybe the final version will. This is a book that belongs on everyone's cookbook shelf!

I loved the layout of this cookbook!
The crock pot ladies really did a fantastic job, the tips on buying and using a crock pot were very informative .
The extensive knowledge is clear throughout the book.
I especially loved the cooking and freezing tips on the recipe pages, this was refreshing and useful information.
The recipes themselves are very well planned and look very easy to replicate as well as being tasty.

I could tell this cookbook is very well thought out -- it's so organized. Not everyone knows how to use a slow-cooker (crock-pot) and now that the InstantPot craze is upon us, people who didn't own a pressure cooker or crock-pot now have wonderful recipes to choose from with no fear of cooking too long or not long enough.

I particuularly liked all the information at the beginning of the book, again helping those who haven't used a crock-pot before. Starting with an appetizer section you have a choice of ten different sections, ending with sauces, the accessory of good food.

Food was beautifully photographed enticing me to try certain recipes.

Last nice thing I liked about how it is organized is how the meats are divided out. Some people only eat poultry, while others may particularly like beef, but avoid pork and lamb. The authors have made it easy to not have to thumb through a meat section to get the kind of meat they prefer.

Great, classic recipe book! Would be a great staple alongside my vintage community cookbooks that have been passed down to me. I tend to use my Instant Pot more often than my crock pot but it does have a slow cooker setting and most of the recipes would be pretty easy to convert to pressure cooker settings!

Thank you Quatro, Harvard Common Press Publishing and Netgalley for this ARC.

I enjoyed reading though this recipe book. I found lots of new ideas and recipes from the usual slow cooker books I have previously read, so it was inspirational. I have ear marked quite a few recipes and look forward to trying some beef in the hope I can make it juicy, fall apart myself.

I liked the layout and borders in the book but would have appreciated more photographs of finished products.

Thank you for this ARC in return for my honest review.

Great cookbook. I enjoyed many of the recipes. I liked that there was a section on vegetable main dishes for the crockpot.

I prefer cookbooks to include nutritional information. This cookbook did not include nutritional information.

I received this galley from NetGalley.

The Crock-Pot Ladies Big Book of Slow Cooker Dinners is a new recipe collection from cooking/lifestyle blog team at CrockPotLadies. Released 15th Jan 2019 by Quarto on their Harvard Common Press imprint, it's 328 pages, and available in ebook and paperback formats.

My family is fairly typical of a lot of families with older teen/twenties kids living at home, two parents working full time and very little time left over for long and involved meal prep. My slow cooker and instant-pot have become some of my best friends in the kitchen. It's really tempting to pick up the same things at the grocery store and prepare the same dinners week in and week out. I'm seriously not exaggerating when I say that this book has challenged my family to change up our dinners and get away from the same old things.

There are some really delightful regional dishes represented here. There are the staple southwestern USA dishes (the chicken enchilada soup - p.66 is delicious and we've made it a dozen times in the last few months), lots of Italian American fusion dishes, minestrone, tomato soup with gnocchi, and others, as well as a welcome handful of Asian inspired dishes also with an American flair. I haven't seen many seafood based slow cooker recipes, and this cookbook has them. The lobster bisque (p.50) is -gorgeous-.

The ingredients are slanted toward North American readers; sourcing some of them might be challenging other places in the world. I live in Northern Europe and didn't have trouble finding the ingredients for the recipes we tested, so it's not likely to be an impossible hurdle in other parts of the world. Recipes are given in imperial measurements with metric equivalents in parentheses, so the reader is spared from having to convert.

Just a fun and delicious comprehensive slow cooker cookbook. There are lots of selections which are not soups or stews, which is great. This collection shows the versatility of slow cookers. The recipes are sensible and the entire aesthetic of the book is family friendly and wholesome. Is there anything in here that's going to make cordon bleu chefs swoon? No. Are these family friendly and appetizing meals with easily sourced ingredients which even your picky ten year old will eat without drama? Yes.

Five stars. Definitely worthwhile. Of the recipes we've tried, there hasn't been a single clunker.

This is quite a comprehensive collection of slow cooker recipes, primarily falling into a "comfort food" category. This would be great for busy families looking to meal prep (and even freeze) but likely not for those looking to lose weight.

Every recipe I tried out in this book was great! My kids and husband also loved the recipes and I will definitely be purchasing this one for my cookbook library. Thanks for sharing it with me!

I’ve followed the Crockpot Ladies on Facebook for awhile now, so was excited to receive an ARC of this book through Netgalley. There’s a great selection of recipes here and none call for obscure ingredients. They are all hearty recipes with easy instructions and simple ingredients. I was pleasantly surprised that there is a section for venison! I also loved the desserts section because these were recipes I had not seen anywhere else. I would estimate that a little over 1/3 of these recipes are on their website; however I would want a copy of the book regardless because who wants to have to look at a website a million times when cooking?

Overall this is a great selection of crockpot meals and I plan on making quite a few of them. My only complaint is I wish there were more healthy, whole food ingredient recipes.

Great book with lots of ideas for saving time using your slow cooker. I enjoyed the book alot and will purchase a copy for my sister who has only recently discovered the ease of slow cooking.

The book is very well organised and the recipes are easy to prepare and tasty. I tried the Lush Pina Colada Dump Cake which in my opinion is worth the price of the book on it's own, it is truly amazing.

Thank you to the publisher and to Netgalley for an advance copy of this title in exchange for an unbiased review.

I use my crock pot just about every day so I'm always looking for something new and nutritious and maybe a little fun to amp up my family's meals. I found several great recipes along with a few chuckles in this book. These ladies know how to take their cooking serious and their lives easy. More of us could use that lesson. A sure fire winner for any one who loves their crock pot meals!

Many of the chicken, pork, and beef recipes sound tasty and I plan on making some. I’m glad to see, and impressed with, the bison and venison recipes. There is an excellent sounding Cheesecake recipe I can’t wait to make. I love slow cooking using “from scratch” ingredients. There are quite a few recipes that use ‘canned cream of’ soups and condensed soups. This book is wonderful for newbie and veteran crock pot cooks. It has a varied and excellent selection of recipes that are well written and easy to understand. I wish there were more pictures.

Easy to follow recipes that actually turn out as good as they look. I found myself utilizing this book more than once when planning menus for the week.

This book is packed full of useful recipes and tips. The two recipes I have tried so far were delicious.
There is a wide variety of recipes, some meat, veg and sweet. Basically an ideal book for a beginner crock-pot user like me. I can see myself returning to this book over and over.
Excellent

There were a lot of nice looking recipes in this book but generally I found the recipes relied too heavy on things like condensed soups. But while not to my taste, they make a great dinner shortcut.

Very excited to try the recipes in here! They run the gamut from simple to fancy, and there's something for every taste. Highly recommended for my fellow Crock-Pot enthusiasts.

I received a digital ARC from the publisher via Netgalley.

I so wanted to read this cook book... Sure that I would learn so much... but by the time I had figured out all that I needed to do to down load the correct version of adobe digital reader and get it working... I was too late to request another chance to download the book as a gift from the publisher as ADE would not accept the original download copy of the book..
I sincerely apologize ... I am giving this a 5-star review because I have read the reviews posted by others.

Dinner help has arrived, with three wonderful cooks that eat, sleep and breath Crock Pot Rules, Recipes, and results! This book doesn't disappoint, its usefulness in the kitchen its primary goal! What I wished for more of was pictures, as there is only a handful of pictures. However, I made several of the recipes. They're good recipes and set out to do exactly what this book is designed to do, get your dinner on the table and the device that helps you achieve that as easy as possible, with the best results! Bravo!
I voluntarily reviewed this book for an honest review

Quick and easy recipes. Many of the recipes use pre-made ingredients (ex store bought meatballs) which is not my preferred ingredients. I did try a few of the “from scratch” recipes which turned out well

This ticks a lot of boxes in what to look for in a cookbook: clean format, photos of the final dishes, a large variety of recipes (from expected to unexpected), complete directions with nutritional/serving/notes and other info, and all nicely indexed. Also included is a well written and fairly thorough introduction to crock pock cooking, including choosing the tools, cleaning, ensuring proper food cooking, etc. This feels like a lot of effort went into making this cookbook effective and efficient.

The book breaks down as follows: opening section: preface (author introductions), slow cooker tips and tricks. Then the recipes, broken down by type or main ingredient (appetizers, dips, soups, broths, chilis, stews, grain, pasta dishes, casseroles, chicken, turkey, game birds, beef, bison, venison, pork, lamb, vegetable main courses, vegetable sides, deserts, sweet treats, and then staples (stocks, sauces, seasoning mixes). As you can see, there is a lot here to explore!

The recipes are cleanly presented, each one with their own section and never breaking in the middle to go on another page. Most are full page or two to a page. Each recipe has a bold title, serving size, cooking time, slow cooker size, a paragraph introduction, separate list of ingredients in bold, and then steps clearly numbered in small chunks (perfect!). Also included throughout are allergy considerations, tips, notes, and occasionally (every 10 recipes or so) there is an image of the completed dish. The recipes are in black type, with a blue and red 'decorative' line separating items such as notes.

The recipes are diverse and all look excellent. The steps are VERY easy to follow since they are cleanly numbered and only a sentence per number. Not a jumble of several steps listed as just one step like so many other frustrating cookbooks. Since a lot of the 'cooking' in a slow cooker recipe is throwing in the right ingredients at the right time, there typically aren't a lot of steps anyway.

Since this is cleanly set up and there are so many great recipes (so many!) this makes a great book to have ready to set something up to cook while at work or sleeping. Leftovers tips are also give to help with storage of extra servings.

In all, very pleased with this book and greatly enjoying the recipes. My current favorite is the orange sesame chicken. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.

A great book if you’re looking for more recipes to add to your collection. I can’t wait to try something new in my slow cooker as the only things I currently make are stews, casseroles and fudges.
