Later, she is reunited with a high school friend who becomes the man who makes her frightening memories dissolve into distant shadows that hover at the outer fringes of her mind but are rarely allowed in. I enjoyed the book. Has a southern feel. Jesse had an abusive childhood to a wife and mother in which use her stories telling for the love of her family. She rises above her abuse and builds her family up with love.
