Description
After tragedy strikes, Callie Sinclair is left with a gift she never wanted—the ability to communicate with ghosts. But when a desperate widow begs for her help, she reluctantly agrees to investigate the strange occurrences at Hillwood Farm. She quickly realizes she’s dealing with a dangerous presence beyond anything she’s ever experienced, and something else becomes equally clear—the only other living person in the house, Mrs. Turner’s handsome grandson, thinks she’s a scam artist. While she’d prefer to just ignore him, her heart beats a little faster every time he’s nearby. Luke Turner doesn’t believe in spirits. He’s moved back to restore the family farm, but living on the property serves a dual purpose—he can watch out for his grandmother. He’s not happy about the sudden appearance of a self-described psychic, or his inexplicable attraction to her. His initial suspicions crumble as evidence points to an actual haunting, but he’s still determined not to fall for Callie—the past has taught him it’s best to avoid relationships. As Callie is drawn deeper into the mystery, she becomes the target of a vengeful spirit, and Luke can no longer fight his feelings for her. Unable to resist their desire, passion ignites…even as the paranormal activity escalates to a final deadly confrontation.

For the most part, I thought this was a really decent novel. I liked the main character and her love interest, but I did think the ending was a bit rushed and the ultimate mystery was too easy to solve. I would call this more of a romance with a bit of paranormal in the background than the other way around. Still, it was an easy, enjoyable read and I was rooting for the two main characters throughout the story.
There was definitely a chill factor in some parts of this story, but there were other parts that I thought gave away a bit too much, too soon and made the ending rather obvious. If you enjoy love stories with a paranormal twist, you might consider reading this one.

A good paranormal romance with a pinch of mystery.
The book is well written, engaging and entertaining.
The cast of characters was well written and likable.
The plot was ok, no plot hole, and it never bores.
Recommended!
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC
This is a fast-paced paranormal book. That follows three characters Alice, an elderly widow, Callie, an introvert who can communicate with spirits, and Luke, who is a skeptic and the grandson of Alice. The story takes place at the Hillwood Farm and Callie’s apartment.
I enjoyed this story quite a bit. I finished it quickly and could not even put it down. I also most missed an appointment because I seriously did not want to put the book down. The book draws you in from the first page with a sugar bowl and keeps you hook to find out who the person is that is doing the haunting. I will say that the only reason I am giving it a 4 star is because I determined the ghost’s identity early on even before the person’s name was mentioned.
My only problem is not the romance because I am always a sucker for instant romance (considering I fell in love with my husband at first sight and we have been married for 17 years), but the ending. I just didn’t understand it or why the author included it. I don’t want to spoil it, but you will have to read it to understand why I am confused by it especially since the people involved where lawyers.
Over all I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a book ghost/mystery book. I was given an advance copy of this book for my honest review.
3.5 Stars. This is an enjoyable read. The characters of Luke and Callie are very likeable, and the plot is suspenseful and interesting. I like that the book isn't overly long; I thought it was the perfect length to tell the story and not get bogged down. If you like paranormal suspense with a little romance tossed into the mix, then give this one a try.
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for providing an ARC for review.
I don't often gravitate to Romantic Suspense, but this novel was wonderful and I am very happy I didn't overlook it based on its genre. There is a strong supernatural element here; in fact, that is what drives the novel for me. However, fans of Romantic Suspense will also delight in THE HAUNTING OF HILLWOOD FARM because of the lovable characters, the romantic tension, the need for one of the main trio to "suspend disbelief" in order to acknowledge what is actually occurring and to get past his mistrust of the new entry into his and his grandmother's lives. Any fiction seems so much better when the reader can delve into the characters and find points of similarity and interest, and that is very much the case in this novel.
25-year-old Callie Sinclair gained psychic ability following a brief coma induced by a winter traffic accident. Now she "hears" from the deceased, whether or not she wishes to. But sometimes she can pass out information or guidance to a grieving loved one, and the results are beneficial. When she tries to help the elderly, recently widowed, Alice Turner, she finds more than one spirit to deal with, along with the skepticism and disbelief of Alice's very appealing grandson Luke. Romance, Supernatural, and Danger elements are all prevalent in this novel, in a champion plot.
This is a romance novel with a paranormal twist with a hint of mystery. The story starts out on the Hillwood farm owned by the Turner family. Their husband/grandfather just recently passed away. Some strange occurrences started to occur in the house. Alice aka Gram thought it was her recently deceased husband but the ghost is acting in a violent way. Luke is Grams handsome grandson who lives on the farm after his grandfather passed away to help take care of the place. Gram calls in a paranormal specialist Callie who has a crazy past herself. She sees spirits and avoids people because of this ability. The book grabs your attention quickly as you turn the pages you are hoping that a new found love for Callie and Luke blooms or their rocky past relationships will continue to plague them both. I was cheering one moment and the next freaking out by the actions of the spirit haunting Hillwood farm. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a sappy romance. There's enough twists and turns in the book to keep you going but the ending is predictable.
I want to thank Kathryn Knight for writing a very good book. I love sappy romances and there was enough in the book to keep my attention. I also want to thank NetGalley and Wicked Whale Publishing for allowing me to read the book for free for an honest review.. I will continue to read more of Kathryn Knight's books.
The Haunting of Hillwood Farm by Kathryn Knight is a great Paranormal Romantic Suspense. The story is suspenseful, intriguing, mysterious, scaring, and fast-paced. Both Luke and Callie are great characters. Callie is so strong! I love the ending. I enjoyed my reading and I totally recommend it! This review is based on a complimentary copy from the publisher, provided through Netgalley. All opinions are my own.
Has the perfect balance between romance and horror.
This story is a quick read, and the plot flows easily with few characters and enough suspense.
Thank you to Netgalley, Back lit Pr and Author Kathryn Knight for the digital ARC in return for my unbiased review.

A lovely quick paced read, with the perfect balance between romance and paranormal, not the usual genre of book i would read but i did enjoy.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!
Seriously, this was brilliant. Not a very long story (46k/3h30), but just perfect. A lot of books are getting longer and longer, which just basically means a lot of "filler" content/stuff that we could have done without, but this was paced exactly right.
What I loved:
- the book starting from the point of view of an older lady! (a bit sad that we don't see more of her in the second half, but then again, she's not the MC, so it's normal.)
- the MC/Callie's "voice": I loved, loved so much, how the author managed to balance swooning romance without making the lady fall in doormat and/or candidate for abuse. Her thoughts and reactions were very believable and something that I could relate to, and I loved how independent and strong she was.
- mister male MC: so hot! lol, of course, since it's a romance. But also, not over the top which is so great, and very thoughtful/not forceful, I loved it! I thought that his tragic backstory was very well handled, because such a subject (view spoiler) could have been very easily badly written. Loved that he's not derogatory or unkind to anyone, even though he clearly doesn't believe in supernatural stuff at first.
- It took me a good half of the story to be relatively sure of the who/what/why, which is great for such a short book without too many characters who could be used a red herring. Also got a bit of a twist that I hadn't anticipated (view spoiler).
- another topic that was handled with a twist and I loved it: (view spoiler).
- and the spooky moments were nicely creepily written, I loved it! A classic paranormal story like we love them :D
(the spoiler parts are available on the Goodreads review)
This was a surprise for me, I haven't read any of her previous books. Will definitely be checking out more. Charcaters had good chemistry and the story was interesting and a good quick read.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance read, I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

3.5 Hearts I was in the mood for a good old-fashioned ghost story. Well I sorta got it.
The ghost part was pretty obvious but kept me interesting. The romance was good and the suspense was fine too.
Problem was no part of it was great in my opinion. The writing was fine and it was a short read. A good read between more intense stories.
Disclaimer:
I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
Wow! This is the ultimate page turner! The very first scene grabs you and never lets go to the very satisfying conclusion. I will highly recommend to my patrons looking for steamy romance with down right creepy scares!
What makes this writing stand out from other paranormal romance novels is the genuine fear. So often they are mildly scary where as this ghost is legitimately creepy.
Knight excels at writing about sense of place. You can picture, feel and smell your surroundings. Hillwood Farm is a real place in my mind after reading her book. Her characters are well rounded, genuine characters. They have flaws and quirks that you are intrigued by.
The romance elements were hot and seemed realistic. So often, paranormal romance can seem forced or rushed to fit in the time frame of the story but not in this case.
I highly enjoyed this book and will recommend to my readers. This is the first I’ve heard of Kathryn Knight but I’m certainly going to look for more.
The book begins well and gets straight to the point with its plot. There is a malevolent spirit haunting Hillwood Farm and Callie Sinclair, a clairvoyant, is called upon by the owner Alice Turner to figure out who this spirit is and what does it want, much to the annoyance of her grandson Luke who thinks Callie is just another scam artist out to make money. But soon he begins to question his initial suspicion when all evidence point to an actual haunting and Callie becomes the target of this vengeful spirit as well.
The haunting episodes described in the initial chapters are pretty terrifying and spooky but then it begins to go downhill when the author decides to add a love story angle between the protagonists. From here, the story takes a predictable turn towards its climax (I managed to figure out who the spirit was halfway into the book). I personally feel that the author should have downplayed the love story and concentrated just on the supernatural aspect for a more satisfying paranormal story.
My thanks to the author for giving me a copy of this book to read via NetGalley.
I liked this book. It read more as a romance with a hint of paranormal. I did feel like it wrapped up too quickly and there could have been less romance in the beginning and some more investigation. It was a quick easy read and overall not bad.
This book is part Spooky, part romance. Sometimes this combination doesn't work, but in this instance it dd.
After a couple of tragedies in her life, and with her father in a Care Home, Callie realises the gift she has been given after a car accident, isn't one that she want. Being able to communicate with ghosts. Not the best thing to happen in her life at all.
She does come to accept her gift, with hesitations. After a widow gets in touch about her recently deceased husband trying to contact her and strange happenings on the farm, Callie is drawn into a situation that could end her life.
The grandmother and her grandson live on the family farm and Luke, isn't happy with her sudden involvement in his grandmother's life. But, as things move along, a vengeful spirit that is connected somehow, threatens Callie, and Luke comes to realise that he is suddenly falling for Callie. But will this push the deadly spirit further in causing harm, or can they solve the mystery.
Enjoyable read and recommend it would want that bit of mystery and romance.
The Haunting of Hillwood Farm is a good paranormal romance that is decently written. Interesting characters.
THE HAUNTING OF HILLWOOD FARM is a stand-alone, paranormal, romantic, suspense story.
I am never disappointed when I choose a Kathryn Knight book. Suspense, romance, and just enough humor to keep it real. The characters are always believable, for better or worse and the mysteries keep me guessing.
Luke and Callie were wonderful characters. I love that they are both gun-shy of the thought of a relationship, for different reasons, but accept a tentative friendship for the sake of his grandmother. Luke really proved himself to me. Anyone who will bend – even a little – for his grandmother, has already established himself as a good guy. His love of the land and the animals further cemented my love for him. On the other hand, I wanted to love Callie from page one. She needs a mama to wrap her in a quilt and give her hot toddies on the rough days…. Now she has Grandma Alice.
I loved their story together. The attraction and passions that slowly grew and could not be denied. I loved Luke’s protectiveness. I loved Callie’s tentativeness. Her slow acceptance of both her powers and Luke’s love made them more real.
It made me smile that this particular ghost was playing with the garage door for part of the story. I have a spirit in my home that will occasionally open my garage door. Thank God, I know who mine is and there is no vindictiveness or malice intended. Too bad, they can’t say the same!
The mystery that has brought them all together is beautifully woven and could bring the most skeptical person to start ghost hunting… or at least to wonder about those bumping noises in the night.
THE HAUNTING OF HILLWOOD FARM is a fantastic paranormal journey with intense suspense and undeniable romance. This is exactly the type of book I love to read!
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via NetGalley, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
The Haunting of Hillwood Farm by Kathryn Knight was a wonderful read.
This paranormal romantic suspense story was scary and extremely intriguing. It was very fast-paced and I thought Luke and Callie were both great characters that were very well drawn by Kathryn Knight. The book held my attention right until the fulfilling ending. I totally recommend this book to anyone who enjoys this genre.
I have discovered another fabulous author to add to my list of favourites!
I received a complimentary digital copy of this novel at my own request from the publisher via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.
This was an interesting story. Mostly, this is a ghost story. A woman who can speak to the dead is called to help an elderly woman and finds a seriously dark spirit in the home. A series of near tragic events happen while they try to figure out what is going on. There is a romance subplot between the woman (Callie) and the elderly woman's grandson (Luke) but its certainly not the focus. Overall, this was a quick read that was enjoyable but not extraordinary.
I absolutely loved it! I was sitting on the edge of my seat, completely unable to put it down. Amazing writing, and I am blown away.

A paranormal - suspense Romance , that has everything in it you would want , a ghost that's bent on revenge, a slight touch of romance that slowly builds , and a ghost that's there to help ,but which one can you trust and which one shouldn't be trusted , and loveable characters that make you feel even more in love with them. As for the story its self not once did I want to put it , with that said I want to thank Netgalley for letting me read and review it exchange for my honest opinion.
I went into this not knowing what to expect having only read the description and no reviews. This is a fantastic tale mixing ghosts and romance in one book that keeps you coming back for me
