Description
After being discharged from the United States Marine Corps, Stan ends up in Dallas where he intends to finish law school. In the spring of 1976, while attending SMU, he is recruited into the Republican party, elected county chairman, and finds himself helping President Gerald Ford in his campaign against Jimmy Carter. The campaign is marred, however by an untimely FBI investigation into the financial dealings of a major party contributor, Brad Thornton.

Stan Turner is a struggling law student selling life insurance to help keep him, his wife and four kids afloat. Considering a career in politics at first, but pushes that aside due to his own personal history, however he is serving as county chairman for one term. After the death of a close friend, he sets out to clear his friend's name and proceeds to get himself involved in one situation after another, much to the chagrin of his wife. In 'Disillusioned' by William Manchee, you find love, hate, murder, blackmail, crime and the dark side of politics, but amidst all that, you find a very easy, feel-good story. I definitely recommend 'Disillusioned.'

Marketing Plan
As part of Top Publications 20th Anniversary it is publishing a special library edition of the Stan Turner Mysteries that will be marketed to libraries all across the country through direct mail, email, and by author appearances at library conferences and events. Currently, William Manchee is scheduled to make appearances at the ALA Annual Conference in Washington DC, June 20-26, 2019 and at Bouchercon's 50th Anniversary in Dallas, Texas October 31-Nov 3 2019.
