A great book for any little one's first trip to the dentist! Luca Lashes takes children
on a wonderful adventure in this book about the "scary" dentist
office. Most kids are terrified at the dentist, but mostly because they don't
understand what is happening. The tools are strange. The chait is weird, and
the dentist is a stranger to new patients. This book tells kids what to expect
and takes that fear away. When children are clearly told what to expect, that
fear of the unknown is taken away. I would recommend this book to anyone with a
child about to embark on that first dental visit.

My eyes immediately were drawn to the Luca Lashes books. The illustrations are simple,
but colorful and stand right out. And the subject matter is very relevant for
young families like my own. I loved the books because they relate to the
children and how they feel. It says to a child "I'm on your side",
and that's important when facing scary situations. I also loved that it had a
section in the back with facts for parents and resources. I feel like it is a
good set to own or borrow for those big moments in a child's life.

I am terrified of dentists, although when I was a kid, I wasn't. Maybe it was because my dentist gave me free stuff like
toothbrushes and cute VHS tapes. If this book existed back then, I'm sure she would have given me a copy.
Luca Lashes and His First Trip to the Dentist is obviously about Luca's first trip to the dentist. The book makes use of
rhymes and illustrations to tell Luca's story.
Lucas is cute and reminds me of my nephew. The story didn't have as much of a plot as what I would have wanted, but since this book is aimed at toddlers and young kids, it's just right.
Thanks to NetGalley and Luca Lashes, LLC for the e-copy.
