Description

Are you tired of America's seemingly unsolvable economic and social ills? Of a do-nothing Congress? Of Presidential candidates who tout "change," but can't deliver?

In this timely political thriller, The People Count, newly elected President Rachel Furnell knows what to do and she's not afraid to do it. The greed and corruption of America's privileged 1% bring personal tragedy to the lives of a police detective and a country-western singer. When this unlikely pair unite to avenge the deaths of their loved ones, others find inspiration and take their grievances to the streets. President Furnell, in answer to the people's voice, steps forward to provide the leadership our country so desperately needs to once again be the land of equality and opportunity.

A must read for every one of the 99% of Americans who struggle each day to keep American democracy and their families thriving.

Back cover blurb, The People Count:

This novel deals with the defining issue of our time: Will America once again be a place where 99% of us can earn enough to pay our bills, educate our children, own our home, afford medical care, and have a reasonable retirement, or will America remain a country where 1% of the population uses its wealth and political power to deprive the other 99% of the quality of life it deserves.

Like most Americans, our heroes yearn for an authentic life, but vile members of the 1% make that hope a pipe dream. Betrayed by the very people and institutions that are supposed to serve and protect them, these modern-day avengers become a ruthless and relentless force, dedicated to stopping the breathtaking greed and corruption that have ravaged America's economy and made a mockery of democratic government.

Like those in the Occupy Wall Street movement, our unlikely heroes take on America, Inc., the mega-rich, and the political pawns who helped them wreak so much pain and suffering on ordinary working people. Others, with substantial resources and invaluable expertise, are motivated to enter the fray. Together, with our heroes, they provide the catalyst for another American Revolution.

Anchored in the present, The People Count will inform, anger, and kindle fresh thoughts like no other book you have ever read.
