I liked this book. It's main character is able to see and talk to ghosts and they are very involved in the storyline. The story was interesting and twisted in many ways. It was easy to become invested in what was happening and where it's going. I can't wait to see what happens between Jolene and her beau Bradford. #ADeadPigInTheSunshine #NetGalley

A Dead Pig in the Sunshine by Penny Burwell Ewing is the 3rd book in the Haunted Salon mystery series, and it was delightful. Jolene is the manager of her family's hair salon along with her two sisters and their mother's financial backing in Whiskey Creek, Georgia. Jolene is trying to keep the shop going, which isn't easy with one sister sick and the other getting ready for her wedding. Detective Sam Bradford, Jolene ex-boyfriend because he didn't want to deal with her seeing ghosts, is now asking for her help. On top of everything, Scarlett, a ghost, is back to cause more mayhem, and only Jolene can see her. I really enjoyed this funny cozy mystery, and am looking forward to the next book in the series. If you are looking for a unique and fun read, I recommend this book.

I reviewed a digital arc provided by NetGalley and Wild Rose Press. Thank you.

I hadn’t read this author before, but I decided to dive in even if this was the third book in a series. I am very glad I did. Jolene (Dolly Parton’s song ran through my mind a lot during the reading) was a very interesting character. She isn’t your normal aged MC; she’s middle-aged and around 40. However, that doesn’t stop her from running all over the place trying to solve a mystery. I found this a fun, fast-moving, mystery with great scenes, characters, and action. The only thing I found wanting was the whodunit; I was just a tad confused but still delighted. Give this one a try even if you haven’t read this series before. There was no problem know what was going on…and after the end, I definitely want to read more. I really do recommend this book! I was provided the e-book which I voluntarily reviewed.

I found this to be a fun read. It started out a little slow, but once it picked up the pace I found myself welcoming the dawn, as I had read the night away. Definitely two thumbs up.

I didn't realize I had requested this book until it showed up in my inbox.

It was a fun paranormal fantasy. Something lighthearted, yet mysterious all at the same time. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I am in the middle of moving but I finally had a chance for a small review. I will try to follow up with more of a detailed review.

Thank you NetGalley for the chance to review this book.

Highly recommend it to any fan of cozy-mysteries!
This story is entertaining and laugh out loud/ spill your drink funny.
Love the characters and the details in their personality that make the story come to life in a charming southern way.
The plot is tangled with a series of events that will make it difficult to guess the killer.

This was the first time reading this author. I was a little unsure as it was the third book in a series but I am so glad I decided to take a chance. I instantly fell in love with the very head-strong main character. Even though she's not your typical investigator. I loved the spin on this book. It was very well-paced and full of action. Completely immersive and well worth a try. You don't have to have the read the previous ones to understand what was going on.

Some interesting characters and plot twists, with a touch of spookiness just right for Halloween. A quick and easy fun cozy mystery. Would recommend.

A Dead Pig in the Sunshine by Penny Burwell Ewing is the third installment in the Haunted Salon Mysteries.

It was quite delightful and the author did not disappoint with book 3. Love the concept of Scarlett and Jolene being able to communicate with each other. Unique interesting read and can't wait for book 4.
