Description

Desiree Nichols has never been afraid of doing things the hard way. In high school, she was an out lesbian who faced down any bullies who dared challenge her. She jumped in with both feet when she unexpectedly fell for a boy in college. And years later, she didn't hesitate to race back home to Miami, freshly dumped, to help her family in the wake of her mother's cancer diagnosis.

While supporting her mother through the cancer crisis, Dez gets a little help of her own from the girls she grew up with--a group of hedonistic honeys whose love for pleasure runs as deeply as hers. With them by her side, she buries her pain in wild Miami parties and even wilder women. The last thing she expects is to fall for her twin brother's best friend, a woman her brother is already head over heels in love with.

Who says going back home has to be boring?

A Taste of Sin is erotic raw aggressive sex and slow around the story. The story is still well written and the sex scenes aren't for the faint of heart. Some ladies may need a cold shower after the sex scenes.

With Zedde you can be assured of luscious women and almost suffocating treacly sex. Which may or may not be a good thing, depending on what you’re looking for. The emotionless couplings and group sex doesn’t work for us.

Desiree Nichols is an idle layabout blessed with great looks. She has a group of friends who are all rich enough to do nothing but pursue sex, drinking and do drugs for as long as the day is long. Dez and her friends are written like the degenerate and depraved heroes in Harold Robbins’ books. There is no way you can feel anything for Dez despite her mother’s illness, dad’s disappearing on her and her breakup from a very twisted relationship with a gay boy.

Dez’s character and lifestyle almost made this a DNF for us…till Victoria came along. Victoria is beautiful, normal and sweet. She was reason enough to continue and complete this book. Though the feeling that she deserved better than Dez never left.

While we cannot whole-heartedly recommend this book, we cannot completely write it off either, simply for Victoria.

Desiree Nichols is forced to come back home in Miami when she finds out her mother has cancer. Back at home she goes back her old ways of endless sex and the last thing she expects is to be drawn to her bother's best friend. Would that be enough to change her old ways?

This book was a little too slow for me. The sex scenes were also very raw. A little too raw for me. The characters didn't seem to have much depth and it was hard to connect with any of them.

Overall, it was entertaining but not a book I would read again.

I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
