Description
A game of pretend with the highest stakes of all in the latest novel of breathtaking romance from USA Today bestselling author Caitlin Crews
Ty Everett ran off to the rodeo when he turned eighteen and has been riding bulls ever since…until his last fall causes partial amnesia and he must return to Cold River Ranch to figure out what comes next. But how can he pick his next move when he can’t remember how he got here in the first place—much less the beautiful woman who appears at the ranch, claims she knows him, and warms his cold heart for the first time since he woke up in the hospital?
Rodeo Queen Hannah Monroe gave up her crown for Ty Everett, and her innocence. What she wants from Ty now is a divorce. But Ty can’t remember her—or their secret wedding, or even the son she never meant to hide from him—and Hannah is torn. How can she leave the man she can’t forget and still loves despite herself? And even if she’s willing to start over, what will happen when the truth comes out?

This book, I loved it so much! Like, really, really, broke my rule and stayed up way too late on a work night to finish it because I couldn’t put it down, love it! What wasn’t to love? Cowboy, my crack. My favourite trope, right there. Smart, shy, and sassy heroine, hold me back. Interfering family, because they care so much, but don’t know how to show it, all over the place!
But really, the relationship, the discovery of Ty and Hannah, I loved the people they were, the people they are, apart, together, fighting, making up, everything all about them. Once I hit a certain point, I knew thinking about setting this story aside was a lost cause. I needed to see how they got their HEA. I needed to move past the pain they were causing each other. I needed them to see what the other saw in them. I needed them to get their closure, get past it all, and find the love they were so capable of. And when they did, when it all came together, I just kept crying those tears of happiness!
This is Book 2 in the Cold River Ranch series. What a great book. Ty ran off to the rodeo when he was 18 years old. Now he’s back home with partial amnesia. He can’t remember much of his life or why he left home. He’s got a long way to go but Hannah came to see him. And she has a secret that he doesn’t know about. If he finds out, what will happen to them? This is a very good 2nd chance romance book with a lot of emotional things happening between Ty and Hannah. I highly recommend you read it if you are looking for a sweet romance. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book that I received from Netgalley
Ok so I didn't realize it was an amnesia novel until Ty revealed it, and I didn't expect to like it since I don't really fancy amnesia novel but anyway this was an emotional roller coaster. I still love Abby and Gray's story more, but Hannah and Ty's story is equally great.
Can't wait for Brady's book!
I want to start by saying this is the first book I have ever read by Ms. Crews. It will not be my last either. It pulled on my heart from the very beginning and I enjoyed seeing Ty and Hannah find their way back to each other. It was not an easy path for them to take but rewarding in the end. There were moments that I wanted to smack Ty on the head because he was stubborn. They both let their past get in their way and need to learn to let it go in order to move forward. But everything is not always that easy, remember the stubborn man part.
I did not put this book down once I started it and was hooked.

The cover shows the clear blue Colorado skies that hang over the Cold River Ranch, the ranch of the Everett family. It also shows a good looking cowboy doffing his hat being polite as Ty Everett is supposed to be to Hannah Leigh Monroe when he meets her on his ranch as his favorite horses cozy up to her, a woman he has no memory of. It’s okay as covers go, but I think I would have preferred a rodeo picture of either him in the shutes or her on stage as a rodeo queen. Showing some of the excitement of their past.
The story is really good. It was the old story of a guy and gal fall in love and then split up. Then they get a second chance to be together and they have to hash through the past and recent mistakes, lies, and secrets before they can have a hope of being successful at it. I really liked both of these characters. They were both well defined as people in their own right, but Hannah was really well done.
Hannah was the daughter of an abandoned wife and here she was another abandoned wife living the same life her mother had lived in the same town. She decides she has to take a chance to try to save her marriage to see if she can get a chance at a different life. She has a big secret that she’s keeping from Ty and that’s her son, Jack. She’ll do anything to try to make a better life for Jack. If she can salvage her marriage and give Jack a family, she’ll have succeeded in spades.
But Ty has a secret of his own. He has no memory of what happened between them. He doesn’t even remember Hannah and their love. His accident riding a 2,000 lb bull right after their fight caused amnesia and their entire relationship is a blank to him. How they and his family work it all out is really well written. I liked the ending a lot. Highly recommended. This is the second book in the series. I’m going back to read the first one, which I suspect is the story of Gray and Abby, which should be really cute since they end up a really sweet couple.
Hannah and Ty have to restart their relationship!
Former rodeo queen Hannah Monroe had given up everything even her rodeo queen crown and returned home pregnant after her secret husband Ty Everett had told her to leave his hospital room after being severely injured when a bull stomped on him. She wanted to give Ty one last try but when Hannah found out that she was a stranger to Ty since he didn’t remember her or anything about the two years before the injury so he didn’t remember that they were married or that she told him she was pregnant so they had to start all over again.
I grew up in rodeo country and Ty remind me of guys that don’t talk about anything personal until things really go bad but actions speak louder than words and Hannah is like a willow and bends but doesn’t break.
Cold Heart, Warm Cowboy is a romance that any reader will enjoy especially people that like western romances.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
COLD HEART, WARM COWBOY is the second title in Caitlin Crew’s Cold River Ranch series – it’s an intense, intriguing and completely emotional romance that captured me from the very start.
Ty has done his best to keep the reality and the details of his recent injuries from his family. As far as they know he’s recovering just fine. Truth is – he is not. It’s not possible to be “recovering just fine” when almost two years of your life are a blank slate that no one can fill in for you.
Hannah has tracked Ty down for one reason only, to put an end to whatever they once had together. If he could come up with some answers as to why he’s ignored her and their son she’d love to hear it – or not, at this point she simply wants closure and to move on. Yet when she discovers that Ty truly has no memory of her, their love, the secret marriage because she was a Rodeo Queen or their son, Jack – well, that puts a different light on the last two years of silence. Now she has a different decision to make. Leave or stay – both could break her heart, only one could heal them both for a lifetime.
Ty and Hannah are going to break your heart, and eventually, heal it back again. But that’s going to take some time and some hard truths to come to the surface. COLD HEART, WARM COWBOY is an emotional story on several levels. There’s frustration at Ty’s stubborn refusal to tell his family of his partial amnesia. There is sadness at Hannah’s holding on to the hope that Ty still loves her even when nothing points to that truth. There is anger at the way Hannah was treated by Ty’s family even though it was understandable given the circumstances. There is also relief, laughter, tears, and a sense of finally getting the entire picture and seeing how good this new family can be together.
No book is perfect. That’s just life. And while there were some things that I could have gotten frustrated over by their delivery – it’s just plain silly to do so. Every author in the world has their own style, their own way of telling their story. That’s as it should be. On the flip side, every reader has things that they like better in that story delivery part. Neither side is totally right nor totally wrong. In the end, I let the author tell me their story, after all, it’s been in their imagination for a while now so they should know it best, right?
In all, I had a blast with COLD HEART, WARM COWBOY and I’m now waiting for THE LAST REAL COWBOY to be released in early 2020. If you enjoy a good love story, can handle some sadness knowing there is a reason things have happened as they did, love seeing two people rediscover just why they fell in love in the first place, and a cast of secondary characters that bring the book to life – then you’ll want to pick up COLD HEART, WARM COWBOY.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
COLD HEART, WARM COWBOY releases on July 30, 2019.
This is a slow build, a couple of times a bit too slow, in my opinion. But oh, the payoff, it was well worth it! Just a sweet, sweet, happy ending. Nothing too over the top with the story, no crazy plots, nothing unbelievable or outrageous. This is life and family and what you make of it, your outlook, your mindset. This is the first book I've read from this author, but it won't be the last.
WOW!!! I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED reading Ty and Hannah’s second chance love story in Cold Heart, Warm Cowboy by Caitlin Crew, book two in her Cold River Ranch series. Ty is the middle Everett son, the people pleaser, who was abused the most by their father; verbally and physically. Turning eighteen gave him the freedom to leave the ranch and join the rodeo circuit to ride the bulls. His last fall left Ty with more damage than just to his body; he has partial amnesia and returns home to figure out what to do next. He has no idea how to move forward since he can’t remember how he got there. Imagine his surprise when a beautiful woman appears at the ranch, claiming she knows him. Hannah was a Rodeo Queen who gave up her crown and her innocence for Ty. Now all she wants is a divorce from Ty. She is confused and at a lost because not only does Ty not remember her, he doesn’t remember their secret wedding; or even the secret son she never meant to hide from him. Hannah is confused. She finds she still loves Ty and is willing to start over but worried about Ty’s reaction once the truth she’s hiding comes out.
Hannah is no sweet southern belle. She is determined, stubborn, and has a backbone; otherwise she wouldn’t have been successful competing for Rodeo Queen. She knew what she wanted and went after it. Being raised by a single teen mom, Hannah was determined not to repeat the same mistakes as her mother; avoiding the men on the rodeo circuit. Yet Ty reached through her walls to showing her how to be loved and respected. Hannah is not perfect, maybe not as flawed as Ty but still having issues. No matter what, Ty realizes that Hannah truly knows him, and warms his cold heart for the first time since he woke up in the hospital. I wonder what will happen if Ty regains his lost memory.
Ms. Crew wrote a wonderfully emotional and sexy story that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing characters giving Ty and Hannah a second chance at happiness, love and a future together. I highly recommend Cold Heart, Warm Cowboy to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Cracking sequel .
Ty was a rodeo cowboy and whilst on tour he married the rodeo queen. Ty as we know from the previous book was in a very bad accident and suffers from memory loss and Hannah turns up asking for a divorce, Ty however has no idea who she is. Hannah is also hiding a huge secret from Ty and they have to figure everything out whilst Ty fights to get his memory back.
A really nice read, one of my guilty pleasures are modern cowboy romances and i have loved all the books in this series so far.
I really enjoyed this book. It was good to get back to Cold Water Creek & see how Gray, Abby, & Becca are doing & get Ty’s story. Boy what a story he had. He has amnesia, having forgotten the 2 years before his accident, & he doesn't want anyone to know. Hannah is a former rodeo queens that married Ty in secret & comes to confront Ty about not owning up to the a bay they have. She finds out he doesn’t remember anything so she decides to try to make their marriage work but doesn’t tell him about Jack, their son. As you can imagine, this leads to some issues & it’s worth reading the book to find out how they’re resolved. I can’t wait for Brady’s story. Highly recommend this book series!
Cold Heart, Warm Cowboy is the second book in Caitlin Crews Cold River Ranch series. Second son Ty had returned for his father’s funeral a broken man. Ty was on the tail end of rehab and recovery from a serious bull riding accident in which he got the much worse end of the battle with a 2000 pound angry bull. In fact, not only did Ty suffer physical injuries, but he also has lost at least two years of memories.
Hannah Leigh Munroe also lost her place in the rodeo world on that fateful day. She had been Miss Rodeo Forever two years running. But dating someone in the rodeo was a no-no. Marrying them was even worse. And expecting that cowboy’s child was completely unacceptable!
When an injured Ty tells Hannah to just leave and to leave him alone, she tucks tail and retreats to Sweet Myrtle, Georgia, and lives as though history always repeats itself, only this time Hannah is a married woman when little Jack is born, unlike her mother had been.
When Hannah learns of Ty’s plans to seek his redemption by riding that bull one more time, she decides that she must dissolve the marriage and move on. She has not heard from him since the accident and has decided he meant what he said. When she discovers that Ty has no memory of her, the task becomes ever so much more difficult.
This is a uniquely told story with rich and original characters and unexpected twists. I did enjoy this book and I do recommend it and this series.
Grab the tissues - it's a long road to the HEA!
Ty and Hannah's romantic beginnings are told in flashback, as the story starts after they've been apart for a year and a half. He lost a huge chunk of his memory in the bull-riding accident, but he hasn't told anyone. Hannah shows up at Ty's family ranch in Colorado, hoping to at least get answers, not quite daring to hope for more.
These two have a lot of emotional baggage to work through before they can fully participate in a relationship, much less a marriage. Most of the story deals with each of them having to come to terms with their relationships with their own parents and how that affects their ability to move forward. The story is sometimes gut-wrenching in its honesty, yet it is built on a foundation of hope and family values. I couldn't put it down, finishing it in the wee morning hours.
Since this story takes place almost entirely on the Everett family ranch, we also see quite a bit of interaction with Gray and Abby from the first book, and much more of Brady, which only makes me want to read his book as soon as possible. These three brothers have a lot to overcome, and these stories of their healing and rebuilding are absolutely riveting. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Contemporary Romance
Cold River, Colorado – Present Day
Rodeo cowboy Ty Everett was in a terrible bull riding accident eighteen months ago that led him to return to his family’s ranch. He’d left Cold River Ranch at age eighteen after getting fed up with his father’s verbally abusive behavior, but the old man is now dead, and the ranch is being run by Ty’s brothers, Gray and Brady. Yet the aftereffects of the accident linger on, including one little fact that Ty hasn’t revealed to his family: he can’t remember the two years preceding his accident. Then one day, a beautiful blonde shows up in town looking for him. She seems to know a lot about him even though he can’t remember her. Ty figures she might be a buckle bunny, but then she reveals the truth: she is his wife.
Hannah Monroe Everett has come looking for Ty. They fought bitterly eighteen months ago, just before he got onto the bull and ended up injured. She knows why he turned his back on her, yet she doesn’t realize he has no memory of her—until he flat out informs her that he doesn’t remember her. How can he have forgotten their sweet courtship and Las Vegas wedding? How did he forget her? But more importantly, how is Hannah going to tell him that they have a son, Jack?
Ty is the middle Everett child and the one who received the most vitriol hate from their father, Amos, a bitter man who drove away the mother of his children and treated his children badly. To get away from his father, Ty left the ranch and joined the rodeo circuit where he forged a decent career. It is inevitable that he ran into Hannah, as she was a rodeo queen who toured with them. The moment they met, Ty started pursuing Hannah, but she resisted because they weren’t supposed to be dating due to the rules of her reign, let alone thinking of marriage. But somewhere along the way, he persuaded her to marry him—secretly—so they could enjoy the fruits of marriage. They hadn’t discussed children, so when Hannah informed Ty that fateful night of her pregnancy, she was shocked to learn he didn’t want children. While she didn’t know it then, Ty has this fear of ending up a mean bastard like his father.
After Hannah confronts Ty about their marriage, she doesn’t tell him about Jack. Why? Because she isn’t sure whether their marriage is worth saving and she isn’t sure how he will react learning he has a son. Ty’s initial response about her being his wife has him in shock, then he asks her to move into his cabin on the ranch and introduces her to his family. Things are platonic—at first—but we know that won’t last long as the sexual chemistry between them is intense. Readers will wait with bated breath wondering when Hannah will tell Ty about Jack…and how he’ll react. Meanwhile, as they grow closer, love is being rekindled between them.
COLD HEART, WARM COWBOY does take a while before Hannah spills her secret to Ty, so maybe his response isn’t surprising. The second book in the Cold River Ranch series by Caitlin Crews, it can be read as a standalone without too much difficulty, though Gray and Abby (from A TRUE COWBOY CHRISTMAS) do pop in and out of scenes. Readers will love COLD HEART, WARM COWBOY as a contemporary cowboy tale about a sweet woman mending the soul and heart of the man she loves. It’s a romantic, fun, and emotional tale, and one that I highly recommend.

Wow, what emotions are going on with Hannah who feels rejected by her husband, Ty, when she is pregnant with their child but finally goes to resolve things with him and finds out that he doesn't even remember her or the time they spent together!
Ty is dealing with his own demons from his past and just does not see a way that he won't end up like his abusive father, and Hannah has not fought for their marriage and kept giving up before. It is really going to take an effort for they to break away from their past actions and try to work things out.
It was great then the brothers finally talked things out (sort of!) as they were also dealing with past problems which were part of their living with their father and his hate.
Nice that they finally got their act together so that they could have their HEA.
This is second book in Cold River Ranch Series. I loved it.
Ty was bull rider till he was tramped by bull, he lost memory, two years of memories, but he doesn't tell anyone about it. One day he has visitor at his ranch, Hannah, she seems to know a lot about Ty, but he can't remember her. When he finds out that they are married, he is in shock.
What will happen to their marriage when he learns the whole truth.
Will he gets his memory back?
I recommend this book.
I love Caitlin Crews (aka Megan Crane) and her Cold River Ranch cowboys!
She writes real cowboys and not city boy posers like so many other “cowboy” romances that I see these days.. And this one… its GOOD! (I married a bull rider… so yeah… I hate stories where all I can think is how I’ve never known a cowboy like that.)
Hannah and Ty felt like real people and I was hooked by the end of the first chapter. Read all day so I could finish it before going to sleep! There was no way I could wait to see how everything played out!
Give this series and this book a try if hot, grumpy cowboys are your thing… they are mine. 😘
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
Loved It.
I really felt for both these characters; Ty who has gone through a painful recovery, lost part of his past through amnesia and sees the remainder of his memories without any emotional attachment. And Hannah, verbally and emotionally abused and sent away to face her pregnancy in disgrace in her hometown. When they come together again Hannah plans to ask for a divorce, all hope that he will change his mind and come and reclaim her and their baby gone, only to find that he doesn’t remember her and didn’t the night he sent her away. What she wants most is to protect her son from an absentee disinterested father but does she have a second chance with Ty? Can he recover his memories? How much should she tell him of their shared past? Highly recommended.

Great romance! This is the second in a series. I didn't realize that before I started but I wasn't confused reading it. I would like to read the first one though. Funny dialogue and quick read. I enjoyed it!
This book will give you all the feels. I laughed, I cried. Not your typical cowboy book. Two thumbs way up.
If you live your life in the past, you can't begin to have a future. This statement rings true for Ty Everett and Hannah Monroe. Ty Everett is a bull rider who likes to flirt and play the field. Hannah Monroe is the Rodeo Queen, who a model of good behavior and comportment. They usually have chaperones throughout their time as Rodeo Queen. There was a spark between them that just wouldn't go away. But Ty's family life from growing up put him in the camp of never getting married and never having children. Hannah's life growing up put her in the camp that she wasn't sleeping with any man till they got married and was planning to have children. Life doesn't always go as planned. Will they each have the courage to leave everything in the past and move forward together?
4.5 Stars
The first book in the Cold River Ranch series (A True Cowboy Christmas) was one of my favorite romance stories from 2018. I couldn't wait to move onto this second book in the series featuring middle brother Brady as the focus. What we saw of him as introduced in book one had not prepared me for what brought him back to Cold River and what he left behind.
I'm a new reader to Caitlin Crews with A True Cowboy Christmas being my very first book from this author, but I'm quickly becoming a fan. Cold Heart, Warm Cowboy was full of the same quality writing, story development, and fabulous characters as the first book. The characterizations amazed me. I already knew I liked Brady, but as described, I wasn't sure Hannah would be a character I connected with. Crews managed to describe a heroine who at all appearances would seem superficial and shallow, but instead erased those preconceived ideas. Their romance was unique, tender, and hopeful. Along with that, we get glimpses of series favorites Gray and Abby. I couldn't ask for a better way to spend my time than another wonderful story by this author.
I received an arc from Netgalley and this is my unbiased. Great romance, characters and writing. Recommend this book.
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review**
Cold Heart, Warm Cowboy is my first Caitlin Crews book, however I can confidently say it won't be my last. This was such a well written, emotional tale and I was riveted from the outset. I just wanted to know how it was all going to play out!
Ty Everett has known nothing but the rodeo since he left home at eighteen to join the circuit. He had enjoyed plenty of success until one ride landed him in the hospital and while he could remember most things, he lost two years of his life to the amnesia brought on by the fall. Not knowing where his life is headed, he goes back home to the family ranch, which is the last place he feels at home or at peace. Honestly, since the accident, Ty hasn't felt much of anything. He's unemotional and feels numb in most cases.
Hannah Monroe was a Rodeo Queen and she was darn good at it. Having been raised by her mother, a mother who has many deep seeded issues from her own childhood and her distrust of men, Hannah believed that all men were evil since it had been so deeply ingrained in her. Well, that was until Ty. He was the one man that was able to break through and she not only gave him her heart and her hand, but also her virginity. Hannah and Ty ended up tying the knot, but they kept it quiet so she could finish her reign before they made their union public.
Before they had the chance to let anyone in on their marriage, Ty's accident occurred. Not only that, but because of a terrible fight Hannah and Ty had, she left just after the accident and it took her eighteen months to return to find her husband. Her reason for returning isn't hearts and flowers though, it is to seek a divorce. While she has the best laid plans, when Ty learns they are married, he opens up to her about his amnesia and admits that she is familiar to him, but he doesn't remember falling in love with her. What Ty doesn't know is that Hannah has another secret, their son, Jack. While she intends to tell him about his little boy, she's afraid it will send him spiraling. Will these two be able to save their relationship, or did the bull not only stomp all over Ty, but all over their relationship?
I really enjoyed how this entire story unfolded. It was emotional, it was real and you wanted things to work out for everyone involved. I enjoyed both of Ty's brothers and also Gray's wife, Abby, and his daughter, Becca. I'm really looking forward to reading Brady's book when we get to that point. He certainly has me intrigued!
I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. The obstacles that must be overcome were well written. Truly a good read
A story of fighting your past demons and finding your way home. It was emotional in all the best ways.
Hannah Leigh Monroe was on a mission, she was going to find out if Ty Everett really forgets her or was just faking it. Then she would decide what to do from there.
Ty Everett was a Rodeo Celebrity a Bull Rider but the last ride took him down and he lost the two years prior. He couldn't feel anymore and felt aimless.
Hannah needs to tell Ty something important so they can truly make everything work, but Ty is caught in a cycle of him being poison just like his father. Will these two be able to make things work memory or not.
Such an incredibly good read.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. What a great book , I really enjoyed it. Highly recommend to everyone.
I have voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this title given to me via NetGalley. Cold Heart, Warm Cowboy is the second book in the Cold River Ranch series and it was so good. I loved getting to enter this world and meet these wonderful characters. I just fell in love with this story and these characters and I am so excited to see what this author writes next.
I received an ARC from Netgalley and St Martins Press for an honest review.
I loved this book. I did not know who’ve I first started it that it was part of a series. It completely stands on its own as a fantastic book. It has just what I live bights that made me laugh and smile. Lows that made me cry and put the book down to take a breath. I loved the different twist to your typical cowboy romance book. I will be going back and getting the first one and looking forward to the next one.
"Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review."
Loved this book very much. It had just enough sweet, sexy romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!
Great book! I love ending a book with a smile on my face. I can't pass up a good amnesia story so I decided to read this book even though I hadn't read any other books by Caitlin Crews. This is book 2 in the Cold River Ranch series and I didn't have any problems following along even though I haven't read the 1st book. I am looking forward to going back and reading it now. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.
Ty and Hannah have history together and most of it has been good. But the love they had for them can't be denied. An enjoyable love story that I recommend.
I anticipated Ty finding out about being a dad just the way that he did. I just wish it had been earlier in the story. Hannah is strong, mainly because she is forced to be. Same thing with Ty. They were made for each other.
This is book 2 in the Cold River Ranch series and while you can read it as a stand alone, I would recommend reading book 1 first so you get more of the backstory. This one is about Ty Everett and Hannah Monroe. Ty left home as soon as he turned 18 to join the rodeo. But after a horrific fall, he has to return home in order to heal. But because the fall caused partial amnesia, he doesn't realize that he left someone behind. Hannah gave up everything for Ty. And after the past 18 months, she tracks him down in order to get a divorce. But she doesn't expect him to not remember any of their time together. But after everything that has happened, can they make a fresh start. Especially when he finds out about their son?
I absolutely loved this book! Ty has been through so much and has such horrible scars from what his parents pulled with him and his brothers. You can't help but love him and hope he realizes that he is not them. Hannah has just as many scars but part of hers are caused by an overly protective parent. And reading about the thoughts and feelings going through their heads? It breaks your heart. But it also helps you to connect to them and realize that just because someone is smiling doesn't mean all is right in their world. I loved every second of this book and couldn't put it down once I started it! I can't wait for the next brother's story now!! Great read!
"Cold Heart, Warm Cowboy" by Caitlin Crews
A contemporary LOVE story not to be missed. Oh, what a tangled web is woven when secrets are too well woven and fear is the catalyst. I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley for an honest review. Well, I couldn't put this story down as I was hooked from the get-go. As I was reading this story I realized I had read Ty's brother Gray's story ... I checked my file, and, it was almost a year ago that I read "A True Cowboy Christmas". If you read and enjoyed Gray and Abby's story you surely do not want to pass this one by.... by the same token when you read Ty and Hannah's story... you will want to read Gary's story, too. (the re-read is on my TBR list). There are more family members... and that just may mean more stories to make us laugh, shed some tears, and, another chance to visit old friends, too. I think this would make a great book club read... That said. Happy Reading !!
Cold Heart, Warm Cowboy is a true cowboy read. Ty is all cowboy, with the swagger, bravado, and complicated feelings. A second chance at romance that had me rooting for this couple. Ty is a bull rider who has taken pride in his bad reputation but is suffering from a lost of 2 years of memories due to a run in with a bull. No one expects much from him and he hides behind his fake smiles and people pleasing ways. Hannah also hides behind her smiles. I absolutely adored how she could turn on her Rodeo Queen personality during confrontations and get her point across. This series is on the three Everett brothers and their very different personalities. They had grown up with a father who pitted them against one another. With their father now deceased, the brother’s relationships with each other is a work in progress and the healing has begun. Wonderful series and am eager to read Brady’s story next.

What a beautiful love story for a summer read. You will be swept away. Cold Heart, Warm Cowboy by Caitlin Crews is one fun sexy book that is a must read!! Happy reading everyone!!
I think this is about as Cowboy as you can get💚💙
The mains Ty (bullrider) and Hannah (Rodeo Queen), fall in love and their future looks supposedly great.
Then Tough Luck wrecks Ty, he snaps at Hannah and they each go back to their own families. Ty's family consists only of 2 brothers, Gray (Book 1) and Brady (Book 3), since their sperm donor had passed recently and their biological incubator had run far and away long ago. I just cannot call him their father bc he wasn't. Just a mean ol' snake who'd left all 3 men clueless to emotion or love in any sense and the egg donor who left for her own selfish reasons, leaving 3 little boys helpless and abandoned.
Now, Hannah's got her acidic Mother Luanne, but at least she's there, along with her Aunt Bit, both loving her in their own way. There's also a whole family who'd alienated Luanne when she got pregnant with Hannah. It appears Hannah in all her life, had never had any interaction with them, or with the married man that had impregnated her mother.
All these emotions, or lack of, just pour from the pages. I can hear their voices, see their faces, watch them struggle to feel what is or isn't in their hearts, or run away scared.
Yes, this is that good!
Hannah gathers up her Beauty Queen courage and goes after Ty to confront and fight for their love. This is truly a crap on a cracker moment when she realizes Ty has selective amnesia, nor has he admitted that to anyone else. So no one knows about her, including her own husband.
I think I've said too much lol, but I really did get into this journey!
One drawback. There's a lot of redundant mind talking, reiterating, where I don't think the author gives enough credit to the readers to feel or connect on their own. Please read thru those because the journey really is one heck of a lot of 8 second rides.
I received an advance reader's copy thru NetGalley from St Martin's Press and I am leaving my opinion voluntarily.
A sweet invigorating and gusty tale, about a love that keeps getting stronger, no matter the circumstances or storms it weathers. This love was felt throughout every page in this book, although in my book Hannah was a bit harsh on Ty. I understand why she was like that though, she had to protect her heart from getting hurt again but she soon realized that was a hopeless cause for she is a woman that loves very deeply.
This book is full of emotions. It is very well written and grabs you on the first page. This is a new-to-me author and I wasn't sure what to expect of this book, I found out quick that I want to read more of her books. This book is outstanding! Thank you St. Martin's Press via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own and I recommend this book to everyone.
Ty and Hannah have a history. Hannah was a Rodeo Queen and met Ty during his rodeo days. Hannah shows up at Ty’s ranch, Cold River, and he doesn’t remember her and the last two years of his life. They married in
secret so Hannah could continue a Rodeo Queen single.
This is an emotional read. Both had endured heartache. As they work on getting reacquainted each knows there is something special between them.
ARC provided by NetGalley and St. Martins Press in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review.
Ty, Ty, Ty... I can picture his muscles flexing as his cowboy swagger leads him through life. Having taken the blow of horrible parenting, Ty is unsure if he can be what Hannah needs when she announces that she is pregnant. Then twisting his life in a horrid ball, he suffers memory loss from a bull ride gone way wrong. Luck is on his side though because Hannah just doesn't give up on him. Happy love story that had me laughing, smiling and crying throughout.
I can't get enough of Caitlin Crews' cowboys! Ty's chemistry and heat with Hannah sizzles and pops off the page. This is an excellent follow up to Gray's story, which ripped my heart and then handed it back to me on a silver platter before the ending. Crews has a talent for getting readers wrapped up in the very real emotions of her characters.
Poor Ty and Hannah, their relationship definitely was piled with troubles, not least of which was Hannah’s mother. This story grabbed me and had me alternately wanting to shake the characters or hug them. Either way, I didn’t want to put the book down.
I usually don’t read westerns but I’ll definitely read another from this author. I loved this book, I became invested in the characters and the story was well written. It flowed and developed as it should. I highly recommend this book.
I just finished reading this book and I am full of so much emotion that I am not sure that I can write a review that will really do this book justice. I fell in love with this author when I read the first book in this series. A True Cowboy Christmas. That book was about Gray and Abby. I fell in love with the Everett family. Gray, Ty and Brady were brothers and they all had endured so much pain and heart ache in their lives. They all felt like they were lacking things because that is what their father wanted them to feel. All their lives he had told them time and time again how worthless they were. After time each of them had started to believe what they were told. This second book is a second chance romance book. It is Ty's second chance not only at love but at seeing that he is not his father. That is Ty's greatest fear. That is has become who is father was. He fell in love with Hannah while he was in the rodeo. She was the Rodeo Queen and she was not allowed to be in a relationship. They dated in secret, they fell in love in secret and they got married in secret. Then the thing Ty feared most happened. Hannah told him she was pregnant and he lashed out. He could not be a dad because he was so afraid he was his dad. He did the only thing he knew to do. He was mean and he told Hannah to leave. Hannah did just that because she thought she exactly like her mother and she ran. That night fate stepped in and Ty got trampled by a bull and was hospitalized for a long time. Hannah did not stay she ran and Ty did not remember her because he lost his memory of the last two years. Now a long time later Hannah is back because she still loves Ty but he does not remember her. Now their journey really begins. Hannah fighting for herself and her son. Ty not remembering but still feeling such a pull towards this woman who claims she is his wife. What will happen when all the secrets come out? Will Ty and Hannah be able to navigate their way threw all the lies? Honestly you need to read not just this book but this series. It made me feel so many things all at once. This book gutted me and the only thing I could think of as I read the last words in this book was when is Brady's book coming out. I cannot wait to see what happens next in this Everett family because I am so invested in the outcome. I am so emotionally connected to this story. January 28, 2020 seems really too far away. I not only want to thank Net Galley for giving me the chance to read this book but I would like to thank the author and the publisher too. When I first requested this I was turned down and I was honestly really upset because I needed to read this story. Now that I have the wait is on until the next book. I am 100 percent certain that Brady's book will be just as amazing as the first two. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.
I requested this book to read and review Cold Heart, Warm cowboy. By author Caitlin Crews. This is the first book by this author and I loved it. The plot was realistic and flowed very well. I loved the characters Ty, Hannah and the brothers and Jack! I loved how the brothers come together when needed but can each go their own separate way. This is a great read for anytime of the year. I can picture the setting that the author described. There is a couple of places for mature reader but the rest could easily be for any type of reader. This would make a great beach read or a birthday or Christmas gift.
I've read tons of second chance at romance books but this one is unique. I won't spoil it for you but I was rooting for Ty and Hannah the second they laid eyes on each other again. This is the next book in the Cold River Ranch Series. I haven't read the first but I intend to circle back to it, needless to say, this is novel can stand alone. Both characters are flawed but have huge hearts in desperate need of each other. A great read but keep the tissue box nearby.
I’m not sure I’d describe Ty Everett as having a ‘cold heart’. I’d probably say a deeply troubled man who has had a terrible childhood, along with his brothers, and is dealing with severe injuries from a rodeo accident. And as the book describes her, ‘Rodeo Queen’ Hannah Monroe is a key to his recovery.
Don’t want to give any spoilers so I’ll just say, for what I loved about this story? My heart went out to both these characters. Ty’s memory is blank, for about a two year period (due to his accident) and he doesn’t remember Hannah or the fact that they were secretly married. The other big problem is…Hannah doesn’t have any idea Ty can’t remember her!
There is heartache, true, but both Hannah and Ty need one another in order to make it. There is a part of the story (about Ty and his brothers) that I believe is an overall series story that warms my heart. I loved Ty’s and Hannah’s story too, even when it made me sad or angry with some of the characters (can you hear me, Hannah’s mom???), and I read it straight thru. Great read. I received an ARC from NetGalley, and this is my honest review.
Cold Heart, Warm Cowboy is an outstanding western romance by Caitlin Crews. Ms. Crews has delivered a well-written book populated with phenomenal characters. Hannah and Ty married in secret. After fighting about her getting pregnant, Ty gets stomped by a rodeo bull. Ty sends her away from his hospital bed. Hannah arrives at Ty's family ranch in Colorado looking for answers 18 months later. Hannah and Ty's story is loaded with drama, humor, sizzle and a blank memory. I enjoyed reading Cold Heart, Warm Cowboy and look forward to reading more from Caitlin Crews in the future. Cold Heart, Warm Cowboy is book 2 of the Cold River Ranch Series but can easily be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A excellent story. Loved that the cowboy couldn't remember 2 years of his life and in pops someone who knows him into his life. Great story line and characters that will pull you into there lives. I found myself going back and forth on who I was rooting for, sometimes Hannah sometimes Ty. Definitely another great book by the author Caitlin Crews.
Rating 4.5
Intense and emotional read.
Ty and Hannah have history, boy do they have history. But unfortunately Ty doesn't remember. Hannah shows up at Ty's ranch, Cold River Ranch, to find out once and for all who, what and where Ty stands. But when Hannah shows up she finds that Ty doesn't remember her or their time together. Ty can't remember the last two years of his life. He can't remember his life with Hannah.
Ty life wasn't the greatest, he had an abusive father and a mother who ran off. His family dynamics left him with a lot of baggage and anger, mostly thanks to his dad. He leaves home at eighteen and enters the rodeo life, he's popular and really good. He's lived his life his way. But after his injury he heads home to the family ranch and tries to remember what has happened during those two missing years. Ty also just feels numb/cold emotionally, he just doesn't feel anything. But then Hannah shows up and he begins to feel a pull, some feelings are resurfacing and she's the reason why. He asks her so stay and she agrees with some reservations.
Hannah was a Rodeo Queen. She's been brought up by a Mom who has a lot of issues. Issues due to the fact she had Hannah at 16 and was pretty much ignored by all family members. So she brought Hannah up believing that men were all evil and no good for nothing. Hannah did well in steering clear of men, but not Ty. With Ty things where different, she felt and experienced wonder and pain. Ty and Hannah married in secret as she was to remain single as a Rodeo Queen. So they decided to keep this hush until her reign was over. But the best part of them being together was their baby, Jack. After Ty's accident and the revelations that she was pregnant a lot of sad and terrible things where said. Hannah left and had Jack. But she never forgot Ty. And so after some rumors surfaced Hannah decided to find out once and for all where Ty really stood. She leaves Jack with her mother and heads to Colorado.
The two begin slowly opening up, more so Hannah as she has the keys to Ty's two years. But Hannah realizes that with Ty's memory loss and him feeling "nothing" she need to tread carefully. The revelation of their marriage is revealed and Ty begins to realize that this pull and their marriage means, possibly there is something real and good here. Ty asks Hannah to move in with him on the ranch and try to make this a go. Hoping and believing at some point he might remember.
Boy this was an emotional story. From Ty's point of view and Hannah's, each endures a lot of heartache. But as they work at getting reacquainted and working on their relationship, each knows they have something special. But Ty continues to struggle with is Daddy issues and the fear of him becoming his old man. He's frustrated with his inability to remember as well. Hannah realizes she never stoped loving Ty and just want so much for him to remember the love they shared. But she also knows she's keep a big secret from him about the baby. She believes he's not ready and also afraid of what he will do and what will happen to them when he does find out. I loved the dynamics of all the secondary characters in this story and what they contributed to Ty and Hannahs relationship. It was nice to see Abby and Gary again as well. But of course this escalate to dramatic proportions when Hannah's Mom shows up weeks later at the ranch with Jack. And that's when the true test of their relationship takes place. They each have to face trust issues and past demons before they can move on as a family and a couple. But each resolves there issues and I really love the ending, so satisfying and emotional.
Enjoyable read. I did find a lot of dialogue in the first couple chapters and had to push through. I do find this author has a tendency to do that so was somewhat prepared. But once I passed that point everything flowed fairly well and had good pacing. So just press through and you'll be glad you did. I'm now really looking forward Brady and Amandas story. I really hope Amanda is for Brady because she really peaked my interest.
Really enjoyed this one! Always a sucker for amnesia stories and Crews is a great writer, really able to give the characters emotional depth.
Ms. Crews takes us back to Cold River Ranch and the Everett brothers. This time it's Ty, the rodeo star. Ty has trouble still...dealing with the memories of just how terrible his father was, dealing with the crushing blow of the end of his career beneath the hooves of an angry bull...and the loss of the memories of two years of his life.
If you haven't read the first book, grab it, it's about the oldest Everett, Gray and how he handled the nightmare of his childhood and taking care of his brothers, while dealing with their father, Amos.
Ty takes a different approach, but ends up going against his plans for never getting married when he meets Rodeo Queen Hannah, who has her own cross to bear. The trauma of an event just before the fateful bull ride, and the aftermath of the ride, leaves him with a two year blank spot in his memory.
Hannah comes to the family ranch to finally end her state of limbo face to face with Ty, and finds she still loves him and he really doesn't remember her.
She tells him enough that he wants to see where the feelings she brings alive just by coming into view will go, but she still has a secret he doesn't know and time is running out.
It's a sweet western tale with a little steam and enjoyable. I await Brady's tale.
I requested and received a NetGalley ARC to peruse.
LOVED this book!!! Ty is positively swoon-worthy as the damaged bull riding rodeo star, while Hannah, a rodeo queen forever, proves that within every proper southern gal lies a core of steal.
After Ty's last bull ride, he was seriously injured and lost two years worth of memories - and those that contained his relationship with Hannah. Hannah doesn't know that he lost his memories and thinks that he's chosen to not be part of their lives. I loved both of their characters and thoroughly enjoyed their second chance romance. Their struggle felt real and full of heart.
Parts of this novel occur at the same time as the first book took place, however, focusing on Ty's story instead of Grey's. I really enjoyed this perspective and also enjoyed the opportunity to read about the other characters again. This is a stand alone novel, however, the series is so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. I'm already looking forward to the next book in the series. The author is on my must read authors' list.
COLD HEART, WARM COWBOY by Caitlin Crews is an intense second chance romance! Once you start reading this story you can't put it down. Ty and Hannah, both are struggling. You can't help but feel for them and the Everett men. I'd love to see the next story on this complex family!
