I enjoyed reading this book. It had a good story to it. I liked the variety of characters in it. It was full of action/adventure. It is my first book read by this author. I hope to read more books by this author.

Another book written from different people's perspective, changing every chapter. It works here, but I don't understand why 3rd person writing isn't good enough. The plot, however, is great, as is the action-filled story with lots of twists. Very good characters as well.

WOW what an action packed story. It is a comedy of errors meets Rambo! And the ending is superb. I really liked this book. I think all the characters need time to recover after all that action and drama.

This is a story about a government contractor or hit man John Steele. He was sent on a job to take out the Carlucci brothers and then leave. That part is done. On the way leaving he comes across a local loan shark and his goons going after an older couple. Not being able to stand for it he decides to take action and the story continues with him against the loan shark Gary Bender and his thugs. This is a fast-paced story and one that has some twists in it for while he is going after the loan shark relatives of the Carlucci’s are now on his trail as well. So what you have is him fighting against two foes and not getting any help from the police. I actually found this to be a very entraining book from start to finish and if you like action then this book is for you.

Thank you NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for this arc.

WOW! This was FUN!!

John Steele is a Licensed Vigilante (by the UK Police Service). His mission is to eliminate criminals that the police aren't able to deal with in their known police/court systems. So he's like a super secret weapon used only on domestic soil. Okay. So it's a spoof story. It moved at a great pace and told by 2 different characters. There's John and Gary (Brooker) perspectives. The time line sort of wobbled between their present and their past (as a means of explaining the present). What ever could go wrong, did. Theirs is a complicated story. Gary Brooker was never meant to be a part of the story (but he was one of the things that went really wrong). For an assassin, John was a likeable character with a strong moral compass and a very dry acceptance of whatever circumstances he found himself in. In the end, the "good" guys come out on top.

I want more!
