Description

What is a sociopath to do?

Dyson Devereux’s life appears to be on track. He has a way with the ladies, impeccable good taste, and as the recently promoted head of Burials and Cemeteries at Newton Borough Council, a job that demands respect.

But Dyson is becoming annoyed with his drug-addled girlfriend’s decline, fed up with his banal work colleagues, and incensed by Newton New Cemetery’s gaudy memorial structures.

When Dyson suspects someone of having a darker past than him, he has a chance for redemption. Will he seize it, or is his destiny to be a life of toil in Burials and Cemeteries?

Brutal, bleak and darkly comical, Necropolis is a savage indictment of the politically correct, health and safety obsessed public sector.

A DELICIOUS SLICE OF SOCIOPATHIC SATIRE

Dyson Devereux’s life appears to be on track. He has a way with the ladies, impeccable good taste, and ...

So why does he want to wield a flamethrower during his work appraisal?

Probably because Dyson’s a sociopath, and things are getting on his nerves. At work, it’s the politically correct colleagues and gaudy memorial structures. At home, it’s the drug-addled girlfriend and her vicious dealer.

Something’s got to give.

‘…it’s the well-crafted and perfectly executed satirical observations, along with the dry wit and devious humour that makes ‘Necropolis’ such a delight to read.’

‘I remain slightly troubled as to why I found myself applauding a sociopath for being so thoroughly entertaining.’

As well as being a very British satire, this black comedy will appeal to fans of transgressive fiction authors like Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk and Irvine Welsh.

Not your average novel, Necropolis buries humorous fiction in a coffin brimming with satirical observations. If you like your crime and serial killer/psychopath books laced with dark humour, then Necropolis is the read you’re looking for.

If you like dark humour you'll love Necropolis.

‘…a brilliant book which surprised the hell out of me, extremely enjoyable, thought provoking, shocking and at times disturbing.’ – Bookbloke

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you NetGalley!
Necropolis is about Dyson. He hates pretty much everyone.. except for a neighbor he "tolerates" named Eve. He's a total sociopath, but to what level?

This is TRULY an unique book. I've NEVER read anything like it. Check it out!
