Description
The List can give her anything she's ever wanted.
Or cost her everything she’s ever known.
Maya’s a teen like any other, juggling a life of homework, friends, boys… Until one strange night, her entire world changes.
She loses track of time, or more accurately—time loses track of her.
She thought she was dreaming—or even dead. Then she saw the list.
From her dream.
Lying next to her.
And this list can give her anything she’s ever wanted.
But there’s a cost. A cost too high to pay.

I would recommend this book for Family Life classes in secondary school ad psychology classes in college. Otherwise, it is an adult story, due to some delicate issues contained within.
Actually, I really enjoyed this quick read. It was extremely thought-provoking and touched on some fragile issues. Maya is almost 17 years old and lives with her two older brothers and parents. Since her father had a heart attack he spends most of the day in bed.. Their mother comes across as a mean, lazy shrew who has taken over the reigns in the family. The children are closer to each other than they are to their parents.
Maya chooses "experiences " she wants to go through finding out that interpretation is key in life's processes. Being a science person, I still did not find this to be completely unbelievable. Your conscious mind is not all that your psyche is made up of. Many of the "nice" experiences Maya wants to have are interpreted completely different than Maya expects.
A quick, rather poignant, read.
Many Thanks to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review.
Be careful what you wish for! Powerfully written and the twists get you right in the feels!! Not at all what I expected, but so much more!
