Best book of the series, Classic Lora of old. You are back and in fantastic fashion. Well done, want more from these guys.
Lethal Nights is the third book in Lora Leigh's Brute Force series. I haven't read the first two but I now intend to circle back to them. I had no problem becoming engrossed in the story without the prior background knowledge. It's everything you expect from Lora Leigh and more, hot, steamy and packed with intrigue. Ilya Dragonvich is drawn to Emma Jane from the moment they first meet but he is beyond complicated and she doesn't need complicated. She may need protection but she is still a tough cookie. A must-read series for fans of Lora Leigh and spicy romantic suspense novels.
Emma Jane knew her dragon would changer her life. So she fought to protect herself in the only way she can. But when danger breaches her home will Illya show her why he is feared?
Lethal Nights is third in Lora Leigh’s Brute Force series. I really loved Illya. He is strong and alone. That is until he meets Emma Jane. She thaws the heart he forgot he had. And now danger from his past wants to destroy it. I love Illya’s strength and sense of honor. And his determination to protect Honor brings tears to my eyes.
And I adored Emma Jane. She has a power over Illya that shows the heart of this man. Her tears gut him and while he doesn’t necessarily show that to others he doesn’t hide it from himself. Ms. Leigh gave us a character in Illya which is layers upon layers. And she gave him an equally strong and complex female in Emma Jane. I love that Emma Jane did not allow Illya to walk all over her. She knew when he was scheming and called him on it. I love that she kept Illya on his toes. She kept him somewhat honest even as she brought light into his world. I loved seeing Emma Jane and Illya find their way, even as secrets and danger surrounded them.
Ms. Leigh is a wonderful wordsmith. She crafted an enjoyable read full of angst, love and humor. I thoroughly enjoyed this addition to this series and can’t wait to see where she will take us next.
To say I loved this book would be an understatement. The skill of this author to spin a tale, binding the reader, is unquestionably a talent. It's deeply sensual, provocative and brutal. The totally romantic inking of Emma Jane with her mystical Dragon was amazing. The ending gave me goosebumps. Wish I could give it six stars.
Lora Leigh has done it again, she has create it another wonderful story! Lethal Nights is an amazing book and it’s two main characters are so amazing that you can not help but cheer for Ilya and Emma to get together. The story has wonderful sweet, funny and sexy moments and I could not put it down till the very end!
This was one powerful book. It kept me engaged, intrigued and delighted. Emma Jane first met Ilya at a job fair. He knew she was sad, but was called to her. He knew she was his dragon mate. After an attempt on her life, he could deny her no longer, though he did try. I was horrified by the way young Ilya was treated and how Emma Jane's ex made fun of her for her love of romantic and erotic books. The story had mystery, some great love scenes and a very satisfied Emma Jane. The Dragon Song in the end broke my heart and made me cry. So sweet. 7 stars at least for this book
Loved reading the engaging and enthralling romance story. When Emma Jane Preston needs help in keeping her house in an ugly divorce, Iyla Dragonovich comes to her rescue. Then, when Emma is in danger, lya comes again into her life. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, captivating and riveting page turner, and a must read love story.
I reviewed a copy of the book from NetGalley.
I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion. Whew.... get your fans out because this was a hot intense read. The tension is sizzling and the attraction is on fire and the suspense keeps you intrigued.
Dragon is an intense man who is not afraid to protect who he loves and once he meets his dragon mate Emma Jane his enemies better beware.
Great read!
Oh my! This author has never disappointed me! And she didn’t start this time. This is Ilya and Emma Jane’s story. Ilya is a Dragonovich. I will let you read the story to find out what that means. Emma Jane is a woman he met and fell in love with but had to leave to protect her. When someone attempts to kill her, he renters her life. Together they work to find out why? Emma also has some secret desires of her own. Join them on their life, death and love adventure by reading their story.
I read this book as an arc from NetGalley. It got a yummyyyyy 5 stars plus
Can you say SIZZLE?
This book grabbed me within the first couple of pages and kept me going until the end!!
Ilya never knew a normal childhood, it was filled with hatred from his mother and violence. In order to survive, he had to be violent.
Emma Jane had the perfect family life with a family that love and respect her. She is now going through a divorce and because of her childish ex, she could lose the home she loves.
Emma Jane is presented with the opportunity for her home to become a safe home for a security agency/company and they will pay her mortgage off so she won't lose her home. She is no one's fool though and has her own conditions. This is when she meets Ilya. He is dark and gorgeous and she knows he has a past. This doesn't stop her from thinking about him though... Emma Jane is the light in Ilya's darkness. Even though he has stayed away from her for the most part, she is never far from his mind.
Then all hell breaks lose...one night 4 men enter Emma Jane's home in an attempt to kill her. After alerting her family, she automatically calls Ilya.
No one can figure out why this would happen to Emma Jane but Ilya is not leaving her until she is safe...
The writing is excellent in this book and you really get to understand the characters and their lives.
Ilya wants to keep his darkness away from Emma Jane but neither can resist the other. Through the writing all emotions are real for the reader...anger, hate, frustration, fear, sexual tension and yes, love.
This author wrote a series which I have always loved and yes, in the back of my mind I wondered if she could hook me with this story...SHE DID! I need more, LOL Great, great book!!
I received this book through NetGalley and am leaving my honest opinion.
