Description
USA Today bestselling author Annie Rains welcomes you back to Sweetwater Springs, North Carolina, with a charming friends-to-lovers story between a sexy fireman and the beautiful woman who mends his heart.
Firefighter Luke Marini moved to the small town of Sweetwater Springs with the highest of hopes - new town, new job, and new neighbors who know nothing of his past. And that's just how he wants to keep it. But it's nearly impossible when the gorgeous brunette next door decides to be the neighborhood welcome wagon. She's sugar, spice, and everything nice - but getting close to someone again is playing with fire.
Brenna McConnell put college on hold to raise her little sister. Now that Eve is grown, Brenna is ready to leave Blueberry Creek and finish what she started. Moving on isn't easy, however, when her gruff new neighbor gives Eve a dangerous firefighting job. And yet, even as Brenna is telling him off for putting her sister in harm's way, she can't deny the sizzling chemistry between them. She put her dreams on hold once. Is she willing to make that sacrifice again for a chance at forever?
Includes the bonus novella "Sealed With a Kiss"by Melinda Curtis!

I am saying it right now - I want to move to Sweetwater Springs and find a hottie living next door!
Brenna and Luke's story continues my love affair with this town ad the characters we have previously met and loved (you can read this as a standalone if you haven't started the series yet).
Brenna's life has been in limbo, and now it is time to move on - no matter how hard it is for her. Her hurt and heartbreak is palpable and leaps off the pages.
II just wanted to dive into the book and give her a big ol' hug.
Luke is all kinds of swoonworthy and I want one of my own.
I need many more stories set in Sweetwater Springs - so please make that happen Ms Rains!
Annie Rains really tugs at my heartstrings with all of these books in the Sweetwater Springs series. I always look forward to her next book and the next couple I get to be swept away with. Starting over at Blueberry Creek had the added element of the main character's love interest being a Firefighter. I enjoyed watching the relationship between Luke and Brenna, who live next door to each other, unfold. I also enjoyed the secondary story of Brenna's sister becoming a firefighter. It is good to see a strong young woman doing what she wants in this world, no matter what anyone else thinks! I, of course, also LOVED seeing snippets of many of my favorite characters from the other series drop in to the story! I was sad when the book was over, but I saw a few little snippets of possible romance that could be future books in this series, so I will be patiently waiting for the next installment! I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys sweet, (mostly) innocent romance novels.
What can I say about this series, I have already not done so?
I love it. Simply put. This is the HEA I could share with my mama. No steam to speak of....just delightful characters living in this sweet little town.
I'm ready to head back to Sweetwater Springs. I hope Annie keeps bringing me back!
I was looking for a light and peaceful read with a happy ending for my weekend and this worked out perfectly for that. Reading this will definitely make the readers fall in love with the small town of Sweetwater Springs and the two characters - Luke and Brenna as they are simply amazing and relatable too.
Luke is a hot firefighter, neighbor to Brenna who owns a catering business. As neighbors they initially decide to keep themselves away from each other but they dont manage that. Brenna's sister Eve is one spirited person who becomes a firefighter too. Initially I felt she was being horrible to her sister but later her refreshing character comes up. The entire book seemed so real with regular usual things any normal person does in life and it was also probably due to the amazing writing. I truly enjoyed it and I could sense their friends in this one will have their own stories. I would love to read them for sure.
It is such a sweet romance and the settings of Blueberry Creek make it absolutely endearing!
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the advance reader copy!
Starting Over at Blueberry Creek just became my favorite story in the 'Sweetwater Springs' series. It has so much heart and these characters are so lovable. This is an enemies to lovers romance between a firefighter new to town and a local caterer who happens to be his neighbor.
Luke is new in town and has taken over as the new chief. He is level headed and keeps to himself. He notices his neighbor and has been trying to stay away but when she knocks on his door with baked treats he can't resist.
Brenna is a local caterer who is liked by everyone. Everyone in town who is a local knows how much she and her sister Eve have been through. Her parents died when she was a teenager so she had to grow up fast.
As soon as Luke and Brenna meet, there is an instant attraction that they try to fight. Both don't want to be in a relationship because they have been burned in the past. They don't get along at first but learn that their differences pull them closer together.
I am a huge fan of Annie Rains and was so excited to read another book in her 'Sweetwater Springs' series. I started reading Starting Over at Blueberry Creek and I was hooked. This story pulled at my heartstrings because both of the characters have been through so much in their past and have found a way to push through. Although they keep their past in the back burner, they haven't let go. And it's beautiful to see their journey and personal growth throughout the book.
I give Starting Over at Blueberry Creek 5 stars. It's a beautiful romance about two neighbors finding love even when they weren't looking for it. Annie Rains continues to dazzle with her delicate and charming writing and fans of her books will not be disappointed.
This is the first book I have read by this author, so it is also the first book I have read in the series. It is a stand-alone book, so there is no reason to hold off reading this one to read the others first. This is a well-written small town romance (one of my favorite sub-genres).
Brenna was away at college when her parents were killed in a tragic accident, so she put her life on hold to come home and take care of her sister, Eve. She has put her own dreams on hold to allow her sister to grow up in their hometown, while Brenna runs the family catering business to make ends meet. Brenna dreams of going away to college to become a teacher, and wants Eve to go to college; the problem is that Eve wants nothing more than to follow in her father’s footsteps to be a firefighter. Eve doesn’t need Brenna as much as she once did, and they are struggling to regain their sisterly relationship after Brenna functioned for years in the role of parent.
Luke is Brenna’s neighbor, an eligible bachelor, and the acting fire chief. Luke and Brenna are trying to avoid each other and ignore their attraction and losing the battle. Can Brenna have Luke and keep her dream of going away to school and becoming a teacher?
I appreciated the sweet love story in the small town setting, and watching the characters heal their hearts after tragedy has touched both of their lives. A nice romance always makes for a great escape, and this one delivers! I would rate this a 3.5 stars if I was able to, but half stars aren’t an option - this is closer to 4 stars for me, so 4 stars it is!
I really enjoyed the next installment in the sweet water springs series. This can be read as a stand alone, but it was nice to re-visit old characters. This is a sweet love story and I look forward to reading more in the series.
First time reading any of this series and found it a lovely easy quick read. It reads easily as a stand alone. Sweet romance and family oriented book. The cover gives an adequate book description. Characters are likeable but I'm sure you'll agree Brenna needs to keep her cool a little better. She 'flies off the handle' a lot!! Good women's fiction for a feel good book.
I received this book as a complimentary copy for an unbiased review. The opinions expressed are my own. Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC.
