Geremy is the CEO of The Foundation. He’s looking for a lawyer to help him complete his mission. Alisa is the lawyer, she’s strong and knows her stuff. But there are others that do not want him to succeed. They will do anything to prevent it, including murder. Oh did I mention, Geremy becomes furry and develops 4 paws at times.

Alisa Nelson is an environmental lawyer and activist. Nothing makes her prouder than helping innocent animals in need. So when she’s offered a lucrative position helping Geremy St. Audlin get the permits needed to open his wolf preserve, she accepts. What she doesn’t expect is the searing and often mind-blowing attraction she feels whenever Mr. St. Audlin is near. She tries to maintain her rule of keeping work and personal life separate but what she doesn’t realize is she’s attracted to the wolf inside Geremy. When he reveals his true nature, she enters a world unknown to humankind: lupine en-malat. There’s enemies surrounding her, enemies who wish to do her harm. Can she accept the life Geremy offers or will she turn her back on love?

Lupine is not your typical werewolf paranormal romance. In fact, Serena Dracis has created a whole new breed of werewolf. The world-building is fairly believable, although I still am slightly confused on how the en-malat works. The environmental sub-plot is entertaining and well-conceived. The attraction between Alisa and Geremy is instant and hot. I found their “will they or won’t they” dance delightful.

Why is this a four-star book? Honestly, I’m shocked to the core there’s a rape scene in it. It seems so out of place. Yes, yes, I know, we’re dealing with werewolves who are violent by nature. It doesn’t jive with the rest of the story. It isn’t necessary and turns my stomach just thinking about it.

Other than that, Lupine is a wonderful paranormal romance. Plenty of bantering between hero/heroine as well as between Geremy and his brothers. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.

If you love dark paranormal romance, pick up Lupine today. Highly recommend!

Lupine is an intiguing story with good world building, well developed characters and an interesting twist on the werewolf genre. I’m thinking that this is the first of a new series and that readers can expect more of this captivating pack.

Alisa and Jeremy’s story sets a great foundation to what will certainly be an addictive series. There is much going on in this book, and the explanations provide a wonderful overview of these unique and compelling creatures. I look forward to more from Ms Dracis and applaud her on a fabulous debut novel.

This was a unique spin on your typical werewolf story with a healthy dose of sexual sizzle.

Alisa is a tough as nails attorney for environmental causes in her day job and a fun party girl at night. These two personas end up clashing when she discovers the hottie she was eyeballing is her new employer and the person heading what could be her dream cause. Geremy is trying to find a safer home for some wolves currently in a sanctuary. This gets a bit personal when we find out that he and most of his coworkers are a form of werewolf, the wolf halves of which are house across the veil.

Alisa and Geremy's romance is a little bit fated mate, and a whole lot sexual chemistry. They dance around one another, guided by the werewolf equivalent of a god (I think). They are further pushed towards one another by the endless danger Alisa finds herself in (sometimes pretty graphic). The political drama that drives the rival wolves to go after her end up going way too far, even for bloodthirsty wolves in most stories. While we get some resolution here, this book definitely is set up as the beginning of something more, coming to a critical turning point just at the end. I'd be interested to see where this all ends up.

There was a lot packed into this (obviously) first book in a new series. I really liked both main characters and am really curious about the world that the author is setting up. However, there was a bit too much on Alisa’s attacks that I really don’t like reading. It’s definitely worth giving a try though. I recommend.
