I am not sure why but I enjoy encyclopedias. Maybe it is my thirst for knowledge of the joy of information being neatly packaged for me.
This was no exception. This was well written and laid out for me to learn more about animals. Clean and bright illustrations made the pages appealing without being overbearing and taking away from the information being provided.

This is a beautiful book with amazing pictures and featuring unusual animals. Perfect for library and classroom.

Lovely children’s book to read. My two children were enthralled by it. So it definitely appealed to the targeted age group. It was a nice easy to read book that flowed well and was very well written

Colorful drawings of a large number of animals from the different animal groups make this a fun read for kids. The information for each animal is concise and at an appropriate reading level for elementary age kids. Kids will enjoy learning about animals facts and some fun facts.

This delightful book will have a permanent place in our home library. The detailed classification and the beautiful illustrations make it a perfect resource to get the young ones started on their animal study unit. It helps that each illustration is accompanied by relevant information about the species and some interesting tid-bits.
It is ideally aimed at middle school readers who are capable of independent reading but younglings too can spend a lot of time gazing at the illustrations with the help of an adult and be enthralled by diversity of fauna existing in nature.
Encyclopedia of Animals is a wonderful addition to any home or school library.

I really enjoyed and loved reading through this book. The illustrations were really nice and cute. I love this kind of artstyle a lot.
The book is divided by the classifications and each page has between 2 to 4 animals about a subcategory based on the classifications. A lot of times, the book mentions that scientists are still trying to find out more about a certain species since not much is known about them or they're endangered which I thought was a nice touch.
My only complain (which is more of a suggestion really) is that they should have shown the female version of each bird that looks different from the male in a small circle next to the illustrations so that we could compare or how the weird eggs mentioned looked like without us having to search in the internet. Another is that they could have at least put the meter system too since the rest of the world uses that and not only feet and inches for the sizes.
Overall, I loved this book a lot and definitely recommend to anyone who loves reading these kinds of books like me.
Thank you Netgalley for providing me with the digital copy for an honest review.

A wonderful encyclopaedia of the natural world, even if many will quibble at its decision to use inches and millimetres on the same page. Apart from that, though, I think we're on very solid ground – nicely introduced to every different grouping of animals, given a well-illustrated paragraph about the superlatives of several instances of it, and so on. So yes, with that construction we get a lot of trivia, but I think by learning so much about so much here you should be able to put together a full picture of the diverse life-forms of Earth. It's certainly a lot less repetitive than other encyclopaedias. I have to assume, knowing this publisher, that errors such as arachnids using eight PAIRS of legs will be removed, and we'll have a serious contender for every school library shelf. Four and a half stars – unless you've seen the finished paper form with such errors still in.

Another beautiful gem for a homeschooling family, or in general for kids interested in animals. The illustrations are gorgeous, the information easy to understand and not too voluminous (too long a page and my child might lose interest midway). This is definitely one I’m interested in owning.
