A week-long break at a vineyard ends in tragedy for John and Lara Beech when they are killed in the night by two gunmen. DI Angus Henderson is convinced the key to solving this case lies in the background of the two victims. However, as his detectives soon discover, they don't even have a parking ticket between them.

Conducting a review of holidaymakers who have stayed at the house, they realise that someone else had booked the same week as the tragic couple, cancelling at the last minute. This is the breakthrough Henderson has been looking for.
