Advance Praise
Readers ranging from average individuals to financial professionals will all find interesting, current, and helpful information. Small business owners will find good advice, as will CFOs. Home business entrepreneurs and cube dwellers will each benefit from reading this book.
There is a wealth of references to websites for readers who want to delve deeper into the various topics, also regular mail addresses and contact information, including entities such as government agencies and investor research. One can even find a link to the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce where you can learn all about the often mentioned but seldom understood topic of Swiss bank accounts.
The articles are thorough and well researched. The writing style has the clear and sharp characteristics one would expect to find in a respected and widely read business periodical. The information is well balanced, containing both practical knowledge and enough background to fill in all the pieces of the money puzzle. By Midwest Book Review Format:Paperback On the Money Journal collects the newspaper column "On the Money" (which is now in its fifth year of syndication), a financial writing intended especially for C-level executives and published monthly by American Cities Business Journals. Written by veteran entrepreneurial executive Stephen Guyer, the "On the Money" column addresses surprisingly in-depth money matters in plain talk with a dash of humor. Readers will learn about the ins and outs of investing whether on a small or large scale, and how to balance business or corporate needs, risks, and rewards in fluctuating economic times. Recommended for those responsible for running all manners and sizes of businesses, and an absolute "must-have" for corporate executives responsible for big financial decisions. By Catherine A. Beck Format:Paperback I've been reading "On the Money" since its inception in 2006. Guyer (allegedly) writes for C-level executives. However, his voice is so compelling, so approachable, his insights into investments, corporate issues and economic fluctuations are read by the masses with equal fervor.
Guyer has a brand of humor all his own. Bolstered by his expertise in business and finance, Guyer takes readers on a journey that is at once enjoyable and informative - a feat accomplished by few in the business. He is frank, knowledgeable, funny and direct.
This is a must-read for almost anyone who's engaged in the economic climate and who also knows a brilliant mind when it's reading one.
