Description
Who's poisoning Manchester? Well, surely it can't be the man called the Public Health Officer for the city? Or could it?
Melia is working undercover, and was just thinking she had enough trouble with all these terrorists popping up in her territory, linked to a recent increase of people coming to England for asylum and safety.
Perhaps they are not all they seem, and there are some bad apples in the barrel too. Well, Melia is struggling to make sense of that, particularly as her local University seems implicated in some doubtful deals.
Those trusted academics are up to their carefully coiffed necks in deceitful cover-ups. What have they been doing that's so bad they need to sweep it all under the carpet? As if that wasn't bad enough, the name that keeps coming up linking all the filthy plots together - is 'Battenburg'.
He's not even a real doctor - just a man with a PhD from a University in London. Or is he? Melia can't even be certain of that. She knows one thing: he has some rather unpleasant habits, personal tastes that wouldn't be acceptable anywhere in polite society.
Still, this isn't about decorum, it's about life and death. If you can't even trust what's coming out of your tap, what can you trust?

The Poison doctor is quite a good read. Amelia Hartliss is a top agent for the British government. She infiltrates a group in Manchester to find out where/who terrorists are. She is skilled at martial arts and with a gun, .however, her cover is as a university researcher. She can easily blow her cover if she is too obvious - her cover as a university researcher limits Melia to a large degree.
Melia befriends a number of people who are in the Asylum Seekers and Refugee Research project. She mostly becomes friends with a woman, Romla, and a man (she kind of likes?), Joe. They all have a common goal - to bring down Dr. Battenburg. (Aside from the terrorists).
As Melia works to sort out a terrorist cell she runs into many roadblocks along the way.....
A Good Read!
