I found this to be a wonderfully informative book about bats and their importance. Younger readers will need some help reading it, as it contains a lot of words. Recommended!

The Bat Book was everything I wanted out of a children's book teaching about bats. The illustrations were eye-catching and accurate. The layout was easy to follow for my kids. The information in it was thorough without being overwhelming. Both my sons loved it.

I had absolutely no idea how crucial a part bats play in the natural world. Pest control, seed spreader, pollinator... they have some pretty important roles to play and it’s important for us to change our views on Bats and give them a hand.
We are working hard to save the turtles, save the bees, save the rainforest... I think we need to add save the bats to that ever growing list!
This is a great book. Informative and interesting without being long and boring. Kids information books can get wordy and hard to follow. The pictures and word bubbles helped this one flow nicely.

Another beautiful book from Charlotte Milner. We have already read and loved both The Bee Book and The Sea Book in our homeschool, so when I saw she had a new book coming out, I just couldn't wait to read it. The illustrations are lovely, it's full of interesting facts presented in an appropriate way for an elementary child, there was even new things that I didn't know - but none were written in such a way that my 6 year old wouldn't understand them. This was a little longer and drier as far as picture book non-fiction can go, so I would use it for a unit study doing a few pages a day and not plan to sit and read it all in one go.
