Description
Limón’s series (which is inspired by his own experiences serving the US Army in Korea) features the thoughtful, reflective Sergeant George Sueño—a young 6'5'' Mexican American stationed indefinitely with the U.S. 8th Army in South Korea as a Military Police detective—and his explosive, fly-by-night partner, Ernie Bascom. The pair are assigned to investigate crimes involving American soldiers, but they ride the constant conflicting agendas of the cooperating Korean police force, who are resentful at the continued American presence in their country, and American brass superiors, who do what they can to protect American soldiers, even the guilty ones.
Martin Limón retired from military service after twenty years in the US Army, including ten years in Korea. He is the author of six previous books in the Sergeants George Sueño and Ernie Bascom series. He lives in Seattle.
