Description
Check out Cowboy Come Home before Must Love Cowboy releases on April 27th!
Some cowboys aren't cut out to be Prince Charming---and Claire Kowalski knows that better than anyone. She gave her heart to Ford Jarvis two years ago, yet that didn't keep him from disappearing into the sunset. Now that he's back in Big Verde, Texas, she's determined not to make the same mistake twice. But the ruggedly sexy cowboy still knows how to push all her buttons, and avoiding him is nearly impossible when she needs his help.
Ford didn't plan on returning home---ever---but when he hears that the Kowalski ranch is in trouble, he hightails it back to town. He's not eager to be reminded of the life he can never have, but his time in Big Verde is only temporary. He'll stay long enough to get the ranch up and running, then hit the road again. But when Ford finds out the new foreman he's training is Claire, still as stubborn and beautiful as ever, this cowboy is going to have to decide what matters most---repeating the mistakes of the past or fighting for a future with the only woman he's ever loved.
Includes Rocky Mountain Cowboy, a novella by Sara Richardson

Ooh! Loved this one! First book was a sexy spin on red riding hood and this book inserted a bit of the Cinderella fairytale. Ford left Rancho Canada Verde two years ago but neither him or Claire has been able to move on in the relationship department. Claire and Ford definitely had sizzling chemistry. They were up for a second chance romance but definitely didn’t just jump into it. I really liked watching their relationship build and the family involvement. The Kowalskis are definitely a family you want to know and be a part of. The characters from the first two books played big parts and it was nice to see all the relationships full circle. It wasn’t an easy 2nd chance romance, there was definitely some work and good soul searching that had to be done first. I’ve read plenty of cowboy-western romance books and I’ve never heard about all the cowboy/rodeo superstitions before. It was pretty funny reading about them. These two had plenty of longing early on which translated to some smokin’ scenes! Looking forward for more in this series!
Thank you to Forever and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this in exchange for my honest opinion.
When Ford returns to Claire’s family’s ranch she is not especially thrilled. She fell in love with him when he was last there and he... left. Ford is also wary about seeing Claire again. For a man who is sure his destiny is to be alone, he has had a hard time shaking his feelings for her. The ranch should be big enough to give each other space but things just don’t seem to work out that way.
I loved the first book in the series and was so excited to get my hands on a copy of this one. I was able to sink back in the world of Casa Verde, a place I love to spend time. It was great being reunited with characters I had grown to care about while watching Claire and Ford circle each other. I appreciated the fact that they didn’t rush back into bed but really weighed the things they valued about each other. Ford truly believed in Claire which made me like him even more as a character. I did feel that the book was a little overly long but not enough for me to lose interest.
This series is a pleasure to read and I eagerly await the next book. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Cowboy Come Home is book two in the Once Upon a Time in Texas series by Carly Bloom. I have adored this series so far and have been so looking forward to Claire and Ford’s story.
Claire Kowalski is twenty nine years old. She is the only child of Gerome and Lilly Kowalski and sole heir to the Rancho Canada Verde ranch in Texas. Claire loves the ranch. It runs in her veins. But she also has other ideas, dreams. Dreams which included finding her own Prince Charming. She has about given up, though. She thought she found him two years ago when Ford came to work on their ranch. She fell in love. But in the end, he left and broke her heart.
Ford Jarvis moves from ranch to ranch, never staying long, never putting down roots, never getting attached. Except for when he was at Rancho Canada Verde and fell for Claire. But he knew she deserved more. Because all the men in his family were cursed. Jarvis men didn’t fall in love and stay that way. So he left. But now Gerome needs his help. The ranch is struggling and he needs a foreman. So Ford will help them for as long as he can stay. It’s thousands of acres. He can avoid Claire, right?!
No matter where Ford and Claire were, the pull between them was too strong, too much to ignore. It was more than just chemistry, though. They talked, they worked together, they laughed together. Feelings once again bloom. Ford wants to forget about the curse. He wants to be the man Claire deserves. Claire knows that Ford will leave again and that once again he’ll be taking her heart with him. Truth be told, he’s always had it. Can she just enjoy the time they have together now and not worry about the future?
“What if she set aside happily ever after to enjoy being happy for now?”
This was such a good book. I think what I loved the most was this whole group of people. We get plenty of Maggie and Travis from the first book. But not only that, it’s the whole group of friends and how they look out for each other. They have history. They’re like an extended family to each other. This whole concept confounds Ford because he’s never had that. He wants it so badly, the question is, can he stick around long enough to have it?
It’s no secret that I love cowboy romance and this series is definitely one I recommend. I can’t wait to see what Carly Bloom does next.
Loved this book. Such a fun, sweet, sexy read. Cowboy Come Home features Claire, a rancher's daughter who feels every bit a part of her family's home and land, and Ford, a cursed cowboy who just can't find it in him to settle down. Despite the amazing chemistry and connection these two had when he worked the ranch in the past, Ford still left and Claire's heart never quite recovered from the loss. You can imagine how she feels when, years later, he shows up to work her family's land again.
I loved the push and pull these two had with one another. I loved the ranch, the town and the people in it. Just an all-around enjoyable read that I couldn't put down. Bloom's writing reminded me of one of my favorite authors, Maisey Yates. Her books will be added to my to-be-read shelf for sure from here on out. 5 stars!
Cowboy Come Home was so good for me for so many reasons. I love a love story. I really loved Claire's determination to succeed and help her friends and family. I loved how strong she is and how she wasn't scared of taking a second chance at love with Ford. I really loved how Carly Bloom was so real about the struggles and joys of farm/ranch life. There are so few books out there that depict this accurately. Farm life was drizzled in so lightly but in such an honest way that as a reader, you don't realize that you're getting such a good picture of what that life is like. The sacrifices and work that Claire and her family had to make are so real. I can't wait to share this with my farm wife friends!
I am in love with this series. This book was very fun to read. It was sweet, made me smile and made me really believe that second chances are possible. I loved the town, the ranch, and all the characters in the book. I thought that there was a lot of tension between Claire and Ford. They are both wary of each other but the chemistry between them is sexy and very hot. They really try their hardest to avoid it but there is some serious draw that they have for each other. I think this one just might be my favorite of the serious so far. Thanks Net Galley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.
Last entry in my cowboy reading week was Cowboy Come Home by Carly Bloom. This isn’t out until March 31, but you might as well go ahead and pick it up now. This has a much heavier feel than Big Bad Cowboy. (CW: for grief, discussion of deceased sibling, flood/natural disaster, ailing parent with cancer )
Claire and Ford and their relationship are briefly introduced in Big Bad Cowboy. This book starts two years after the close of the previous book and they are no longer together. Ford is a loner cowboy who thinks he is cursed and can never be in a long term relationship (insert eye roll).
Claire’s family owns a large ranch and Ford has come back to town to manage the ranch. Ford helps Claire when a heavy rain storm washes her car away. This is the book that had me tweeting last week that romance novels need more hugging in them. Claire is rain drenched and her car is being washed away by a flash flood. Ford helps her to safety. He is overcome by emotion. She is too. But instead of a missed kiss, she could have used a HUG. I was mad at Ford. lol
Back to the story, I enjoyed seeing their story evolve and watch as truly fall in love with each other. Claire is juggling her own struggles and challenges with her career and her parents ranch. Ford acts like a big old dumbass about this “curse”. I was annoyed with him, especially when he did a big dumb thing. But this is romance, so you can be assured that he made it better.
The nature of their relationship was different so this book wasn’t quite as steamy, sexy as the first book but it was still sexy. I enjoy this town and its inhabitants. I look forward to reading more in this series.
Book 2 in this series! I maaay have totally binged books 1& 2 in two days. I really really love this small little town and all of the firecracker women in it.
Claire’s family is kind of a big deal in Big Verde. They own a twelve thousand acre cattle ranch that specializes in organic, grass fed beef. The ranch requires the help of cowboys to keep it running. Enter Ford, the loner traveling cowboy that Claire just happened to fall in love with. And then he left her. Turns out, Ford believes that the males in his family are cursed - they can’t ever remain faithful to a women. While he found himself falling for Claire, he knew that it would end badly and so he left. Except- he’s back. And Claire is pissed. The story that ensues is hilarious, sexy and in the end-heartwarming. Claire is such a strong female. She is quick on her feet, extremely determined and has a huge heart. She lets Ford get away with nothing! I really enjoyed their banter and their equal love of the ranch. Highly recommend.
Claire Kowalski went to school for marketing and uses it to help her family keep their ranch going.
When a local shop comes up for sale, she's ready to jump on it to start her own business. Her first love arrives on the ranch to help her dad. She didn't know why but finds out he has cancer..and now has to give up her dream to help at the ranch.
Ford Jarvis returns to help, but it's too hard to stay, he loves Claire, but believes any Jarvis is unable to be faithful.
Claire survives a flood, runs the ranch and tries to get over Ford. Ford can't get over Claire and comes home. That said, it doesn't cover the humor, the characters and the scenery in this book. Ms. Bloom writes great interactions and sensual scenes.
I requested and received a NetGalley ARC to peruse. If you love cowboys, humor and steam in your novels, grab this book!.
I really enjoyed this book. It is part of a series but even if you haven't read the previous books who still get enough of who the other characters that you are not left confused and wondering. The character development over the course of the book was excellent and I loved the different POVs between the main characters. It was well-paced and never dull. A really great read if you are a romance fan.

Yes, yes, yes!! Love this book! Curses are self-inflicted and this story breaks curses. This book goes down as one of my favorites!
Cowboy come home..is a great book!
This is the first book I read by Carly Bloom but it won’t be the last. I absolutely loved Claire and Ford. This book sucks you into the ranch life right away. Ford is a rough and tumble cowboy that is determined to never settle down. Can Claire convince him otherwise? Pick up this book to see how it all plays out. You won’t be disappointed!
There's just something about second chance romances that make my heart sing. Yes, the separation and angst is often painful, but the reward is so worth it in the end. Cowboy Come Home hit all the right notes and had me rooting for Claire and Ford right from the start. The book can be enjoyed as a standalone, but previous characters do appear and it would be most appreciated if read in order.
I really loved Claire. She was intelligent, strong, independent, kind, and had so much fortitude. She was unstoppable when she put her mind to something and was willing to put her own happiness aside for those that she loves. She had fantastic chemistry with Ford and I really enjoyed seeing them verbally spar and banter back and forth. The build up was delicious and I couldn't wait for these two to lower their walls and finally give in to what they both wanted. I would never have thought that a scene in a little Airstream trailer could be both so insanely hot and laugh out loud hilarious. Yes, there's the inevitable push away (I was really shaking my head at that one), but I was so happy to see that the characters just didn't fall back into step with each other. They had to earn that forgiveness and really make an effort to prove that they were in it for the long haul.
The more serious moments (TW: death of a sibling, cancer) were balanced well with humor (Bubba was great comic relief) and the writing was wonderful. Catching up with all the previous characters was so fun and I loved getting a little more of their stories and glimpses into their futures. There were a few nods to Cinderella in the story, but I found the book to be overall less of a fairy tale retelling than Big Bad Cowboy. The epilogue of Cowboy Come Home was absolutely adorable though and I couldn't contain my giggle and smile after reading the final line. Readers are sure to fall in love with this story as well.
