Description
The gods have abandoned us.
It has been 14 years since the Great War, and the Demon clans have been scattered. While the Human Empire seeks to destroy them, the Brotherhood of Shadows (a band of Demon warriors) seek to return their people to the light. By any means necessary.
The only obstacle to all out war is the neutral nation of Teforia, ruled by the Xegin, a mysterious race of augmented Humans. But even the fabled Land of Peace has become embroiled in war.
Amidst all the chaos, two Swordsmen form an unlikely alliance. The angel fights for peace between Humans and Demons, his blade hiding a weeping soul. The Demon fights for vengeance, whose youth masks his deadly skill. Together, they'll attempt to prevent the world from ripping itself asunder.
Assuming they don't kill each other first.

Great start for a new author. Really engaging characters and scenes. Ready to see what else he brings in the next one! Don't miss this, it may not be a Stephen King name but Kayne Sampson is building a world and you can really see it rough edges and all. Looking forward to reading the second!!
Excellent book. I could barely put it down. Burned through the 400 pages in like 2 days. The characters feel real and you find yourself really caring about what will happen to them next. It’s the kind of book you experience rather than read. I am very much looking forward to volume two. (Note, the previous physical copy was different and 397 pages.)

This is an enjoyable tale about a war between humans and demons. I liked the character development in this book and the interplay between the characters. Looking forward to the sequel by Sampson.
