Description
Todd Black. Battered child. Street kid. Prisoner. His happy childhood was terminated the day his parents were murdered by home invaders.
The last piece of his family, his beloved sister, withering away while he remains powerless, until her suicide. The only thing expecting him afterwards seem to be terrible foster homes and cruel schools, one after the other. Every shred of comfort and dignity mercilessly torn away.
There was no peace to be found for Todd Black. As he is forced to pass through fire and iron, through loss and pain, will his desperate need for justice, for revenge, be replaced by cynicism?
Will he come out a cold executioner with no shred of his innocence and his soul, or something more? Something like a saint with a sword?

I enjoyed this book. Although the subject matter was at times disturbing, I feel that it depicted real life situations.
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a real life look at what could happen when we look the other way and don’t protect the ones that need it most.
I really enjoyed this book! A great story line that kept me hooked and excellent main characters. I would highly recommend this book.
The author's ability to truly capture the pain and thirst for revenge of Todd Black that lost his whole family kept me engrossed in this book. The final straw of losing his sister to suicide sends him on a journey that was a pleasure to read.

Tough gritty crime drama that reads as the real thing
Todd Black may be fictional but he resembles so many
Not for the faint of heart but not overboard in its portrayal of evil I thought
This book bothered me not because I think it is a bad book! Oh, no it is because it is a good book, very good book! I went through every emotion known and was cheering for the main character Todd Black like I have never cheered for someone before. His story is so very sad and so believable. A lonely, troubled boy who to spite what all happens to him becomes a good, kind man or at least he tries to be. I can almost understand the things he does as an adult...almost. American Crime Story by Simon Wellington is worth reading! You won't quickly forget it.
This was a great read it gripped me from the start. There are harrowing parts of his life which are hard to read that no one should go through.
