Description
Genevieve Howe is a 16 year-old witch incarcerated in a magical juvenile detention center. She’s not a bad kid, she’s just a really lousy witch. Sometimes her random thoughts unintentionally turn into actual spells, causing all kinds of trouble.
Now the administration needs Genevieve’s help to find a student/inmate who escaped. Why her? Because there’s something ‘wrong’ with Genevieve, and she seems to be able to do what others can’t.
If she can find Logan, will she turn him in, join him on the run, or find some other way to help without violating the code of honor among magical misfits?
A comedic fantasy romp about incarcerated teen witches, the one that got away, and the one sent to find him.

This was unexpected, in the fact I didn’t think I would enjoy this as much as I did. I was expecting just a routine teen witch school book, but it was so much more entertaining. I loved Genevieve (I think the fact she’s not perfect always means I connect better!) and found I connected with her immediately, the book is well written and I found it very hard to put down. It’s funny, full of action and a little bit of mystery. I won’t say much as you need to read it to see. I can’t wait to read more, fantastic,

I was drawn in right away and every page just kept getting better! I know this is a stand-alone, but I really want to read more in this world. Thankfully, I've learned that more books will be written in this world. Witty banter, betrayal, true love, your entire existence turned upside down, and strong characters all join together to create an adolescent story we can all relate to - even if we haven't been to juvie. A definite must-read. I'll be following this author closely!
This was a well thought out book and was a good debut novel. This author takes on some difficult subject matter and it is well written. Very good character development and the MC Genevieve is relatable and the overall character development progressed well through the book. Genevieve is not perfect but she picks herself up dusts off and tries to learn from her mistakes. Even at the young age of 16 you can see what will be a gritty character with heart beginning to develop. This book is intended as a stand alone but there is potential for further exploration if the author chooses to revisit this storytelling later.
I received this book from NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for an honest review.
