In the early days of the Internet, Brandyn (Brandy) Harris— a terminally ill young boy who is also enduring a life of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse— builds his private virtual world outside the knowledge of his strict and abusive parents. He finds solace in the messages he exchanges with a close group of virtual teen friends.
Amid growing tension and conflict, Brandy and his friends begin opening up about the dark and terrible secrets they've been hiding not only from each other but from the world at large. Their commitment to one another intensifies as it becomes clear that, for each and every one of them, the stakes are no less than life and death.
Written in the message board format specific to the infant days of the Internet, The Legacy: Book Two is a heartfelt and poignant autobiographical fiction novel that speaks volumes about the power of acceptance and friendship. For friendship and acceptance can alleviate childhood trauma and depression and bring some joy into the lives of emotionally abused children.

This book and series reads like a chatroom conversation and while it takes a little adjustment to read an entire book that way, it is clever and interesting. If you like to explore experimental forms of writing and try new things then this is the book for you. I give the author a lot of credit in his desire to stay true to the style of writing. Typos and all are part of it to make you feel like you are reading a real conversation, because no one types perfect. The story of Brandy and his buddies online is filled with twists and turns and trauma. I recommend the book to those who enjoy books about teenager issues and problems.
