Description

From the USA Today bestselling author of Meet Cute, two neighborhood shop owners battle for business and prove opposites attract in this romantic comedy.

"Light and fluffy with the perfect balance of sweetness and spice, this is a winning confection." - Publishers Weekly, starred review

Blaire Calloway has planned every Instagram-worthy moment of her cupcake and cocktails shop launch down to the tiniest detail. What she didn't plan on? Ronan Knight and his old-school sports bar next door opening on the very same day. He may be super swoony, but Blaire hasn't spent years obsessing over buttercream and bourbon to have him ruin her chance at success.

From axe throwing (his place) to frosting contests (hers), Blaire and Ronan are constantly trying to one-up each other in a battle to win new customers. But with every clash, there's also an undeniable chemistry. When an even bigger threat to their business comes to town, they're forced to call a temporary time-out on their own war and work together. And the more time Blaire spends getting to know the real Ronan, the more she wonders if it's possible to have her cupcake and eat it too.

The plot of a romance usually follows a recipe, but this one isn't the kind you can make from a box of Betty Crocker! No, no! This story is well planned, with artfully crafted conversations that are not your average icing on the proverbial cake. I'm a sucker for a concept story and Kiss My Cupcake is the most fun I've had reading! Blaire and Ronan are fun, flirty, and feisty, which make you want them to get to the kissing part, but the rest of the story holds up . . . the cake is not just a vehicle for the icing! Brilliant business sense, playful marketing, and social media contests help to feature what it takes for a small business to survive in the world of corporate banality. Delicious details make for a tasty tale of building a business while falling in love with the competition. Yum!

I love Helena Hunting. I have never been disappointed by one of her books, and this is no exception. I loved that the characters generally communicated rather than keeping secrets from each other, and I also liked that once they were together, they stayed together. There was no dramatic break up that resulted in one person having to do something extravagant to win them back. It seemed very realistic.

Sweet, flirty, and fun. This is an excellent addition to collections where foodie contemporary romances are popular.

What a fun read! My favorite trope is enemy to lover and Helena Hunting hit the nail on the head! The characters, the chemistry, the story were all wonderful.

Wow, did I ever enjoy Kiss My Cupcake! I have heard of Hunting's Meet Cute but never read any of her books prior to receiving this title as an ARC, and it led me to go on a Helena Hunting binge fest! I was hooked into Kiss My Cupcake after a few pages when I found the main characters realistic, funny, and genuine. I also really loved the length of the book; one of my pet peeves is when the main characters overcome whatever difficulties are holding them apart only to connect (finally!) in the last pages of the book. I appreciated seeing a longer romantic trajectory than the usual format.

While I never would have purchased Kiss My Cupcake, I am so glad I have it now; it will warrant a reread for sure!

I adored this book and couple so much. Helen Hunting has agift for creating wonderful characters that I fall in love with. In this story we meet Ronan and Blair, both are new business owners. Blaire has started a cupcake cafe and Ronan is taking over his grandfathers bar and grill.

Blair hates R at first as she finds him very annoying and sexy. R thinks she is adorable and makes the best cupcakes. The two start to get to know each other when they decide to work together and run events to help both of their businesses to grow.

This is a fun, sweet, sexy and adorable romance with two really great main characters who have a great set of friends and family. Blair comes from a rich and kooky family and while they are not your average family they love Blair and they provide a lot of humor in the story.

if you are looking for a fun and light story this is a really wonderful romance.

Special thanks to Read Forever for providing our copy in exchange for an honest & fair review.

I really enjoyed this one! I really love these enemies to lovers in the workplace. Especially when it's two people who work in neighboring shops. Throw in that this is a food-centered romance & I am just in love with the concept.

There's a lot to love in KISS MY CUPCAKE. For starters, it has a super cozy feel. I am a huge fan of food-themed (especially baking) cozier. This setting and dialogue lend itself to the cozy type of feel. The hero & the heroine are vying for their restaurants to be successful despite their obvious sexual tension.

I love that the hero is managing his family's bar. His relationship with his family is really special & one of my favorite pieces of this book. I'll admit that the heroine's mention of a trust fund within the first chapter has me rolling my eyes. I get past that & still want to champion her.

This is an open door romance but it is lighter on the steam. I felt it matched the sweet storyline perfectly.

Truly, this one made me smile & is a quick enjoyable read! I will read it again in a heartbeat & I bet it will make a fantastic audiobook!

I’m so obsessed with this quirky and adorable rom-com! A sexy plaid-wearing lumberjack of a man with a big heart, an independent and driven heroine who dresses in poofy 50s dresses. The two are restaurant-owning rivals and it’s absolutely endearing. Their snarky banter has all the chemistry you could ask for- and *whew* is it fun to watch unfold. Thank you so much to Netgalley and Forever for approving me for a copy- I’m obsessed!

Blair’s passion is in baking. Coming from a family of restauranteurs, she veered from that path and wanted nothing more than to succeed in her own cupcake business. Getting Buttercream & Booze up and running has been a challenge, and competition from next door’s bar is the last thing she needs, especially when the one who runs it is smoking hot. With Best Bar of the PNW is up for grabs and a chain restaurant enters the scene, Blair and Ronan join forces to bring more buzz to their businesses, but will sleeping with the enemy be a huge mistake?

Ha! All the sexual innuendos derived from cupcakes and the easy banter between Blaire and Ronan cracked me up. A little cheesy? Yeah sure, but this was a light and fluffy rom-com. Their one-upmanship turned alliance was predictable yet fun. The family dynamics were a nice element—Blaire’s was just straight-up cray and Ronan’s was sweet. My favorite supporting character though has got to be Gramps!

If you’re in the mood for a light summer read filled with booze and buttercream, be sure to check this one out! Clearly, I had to make cupcakes.

This was exactly the story I needed. Perfect light and cheery enemies to lovers, delicious cupcakes and craft beer, super steamy connection that makes for great light smut, a smidge of misunderstanding that doesn’t cause unnecessary drama. Just truly perfect and light, like a cupcake! Oh also, I truly identified with Blaire’s ensemble choices.

I loved Meet Cute so this was a must read for me. I thought it was adorable. I loved the tension from the first meet cute between Ronan and Blaire. I loved their banter and their pranks. I really enjoyed both of their ambition and drive and that was leveled up when they were on the same side. I really liked that it was an easy and fun read. I was in a slump and it was just the right book to get me reading again.

Very cute romance. I always enjoy a Helena Hunting book because I can count on charming dialogue from intriguing characters. After a meet cute the h/H begin their hate-to-love relationship. Blaire is the scion of a wealthy restaurant family (who is the oddest family that I think that I've ever read about!) who is breaking out on her own to start a cupcake and cocktails shop. This book definitely made me hungry for cupcakes during this pandemic! Ronan is in charge of the bar next door and they meet while Blaire is setting up her glassware and Ronan is banging on the adjoining wall by trying to add in an axe-throwing enclosure in the attached bar owned by his family. Ummm throwing axes and drinking...not sure if that's the greatest idea but it works for the story. Ronan is very sweet in a lumberjack-y kind of way and Blaire is quirky and bristly. Great story and fun pranks and banter between the two-recommend if you are looking for an escape!
Thanks to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the ARC in return for my honest review.

Kiss My Cupcake is a hilarious contemporary romance that will satisfy your sweet tooth! Helena Hunting never disappoints. She brings laughter, romance, axe throwing, and baking goodness to this book.

The book centers around business neighbors Blaire and Ronan. Blaire is the owner of Buttercream and Booze where you will find the tastiest cupcakes and unique cocktails. She works long hours but this store is her passion. Blaire needs this business venture to work to get her family off her back. Her family is wealthy and well-known in the restaurant business, but she chooses to start from the bottom and work her way up on her own talents! Because her family has never truly supported Buttercream and Booze, she wants to make it a success so she can prove to them and herself that her passion and hard work can pay off. Being successful gets tougher when her business neighbor, Ronan, moves in.

Ronan is the owner of The Knight Cap a bar with tradition, good vibes, and axe throwing. Ronan took over his grandfather's bar and wants to make it a success like it once was. He plans to work, visit his Gramps, sleep, and repeat. But plans change when he meets Blaire.

Blaire and Ronan do not get off on the right foot. They butt heads and love to compete. Because they both want to succeed their competitive nature isn't always the kindest. After one shared dinner and car ride, they learn more about each other and realize that they are alike in so many ways. Things that were once annoying are now attractive. And their attraction is delicious!

I love Helena's writing. She had the perfect recipe for this book. Humor, romance, relatable characters, developed plot, and heart! Ronan and Blaire's story is so enjoyable because it was unique and vulnerable. Blaire is strong and passionate about her booze and cupcakes and her persistence is admirable. Ronan is a tough, A+ dirty talker, and a plaid shirt and tattoo wearing, a man who is a big softie once you break him down. Apart they are great but together they are unstoppable. Their tenacity and fierce nature make their chemistry sizzle.

I give Kiss My Cupcake 5 stars. It is another great read from one of my favorite authors, Helena Hunting. She just knows how to make two unlikely characters fit perfectly together. Blaire and Ronan are sweet like her cupcakes yet mighty like an axe. You can expect Helena's signature witty banter, charming characters. This is her SWEETest book yet!

Helena Hunting does it again. I could not put this book down. Hunting has this way that captivates her readers with a story that will have you laughing and swooning days after. My cheeks were hurting from the smiling, there were scenes that had me absolutely dying from the tension.

This slow burn has two characters that I loved! Together they were a force! Ronan and Blaire were incredible and I think these two will leave a lasting impression on my romantic heart.

This book was so dang cute!! I was seriously smiling basically the entire time!

Blair and Ronan are so cute together! Can’t go wrong with a hate to love story. Blair with her sass and adorable outfits met her match with sexy lumberjack Ronan. The banter was everything and the innuendos were seriously amazing!!! Like top notch bakery innuendos!😂

This was an adorable read and I loved it!

Thank you Forever for giving me an e-arc of this book!😊💕
