About the Author
KAMAND KOJOURI was born in Tehran, raised in Dubai and Toronto, and currently lives in Wales where she teaches creative writing as a doctoral candidate at Swansea University. She is inspired by the great Mystic and Sufi poets, such as Rumi and Hafez, as well as art and classical music (playing and composing runs in her family).
Her first poetry collection, The Eternal Dance: Love Poetry and Prose, was published in March 2018. She is currently working on a historical novel for her PhD programme.

The title of the book did make me curious about what the book held within - the question of which was answered in the introduction by the author. He states that “The title of this book is meant to make us think, because whilst I assert the existence of an intangible, incomprehensible, and inexplicable God, I question the existence of humanity.” which I think is an incredibly interesting assertion and one I hadn’t thought about very much.
To say humanity is missing would be an understatement when keeping up to date with world news and current events. But I’d never really thought about the lack of humanity before and I think that is one of the aims of the author. Every body sees this lack of humanity, but how many of us actually question it?
The introduction has made me all the more interested to read the verse contained inside and after reading through the book, I can say I wasn’t disappointed. I really enjoyed all of the prose and I’m interested to read what else the author has written. I think this is a must read, it touches on some taboo topics and sheds light on things I believe the mass majority need to hear and contemplate.

As I was looking for poetry books on Netgalley to review, “God, does humanity exist?” popped up and the title immediately intrigued me.
So thankful I got to read this poetry book. This is one I know I’ll have to buy a physical copy of because I know I’ll want to reread it. This short, touching, important poetry book reminded me how much each of us are an important part to the world, how much we have to value everyone around us and earth itself, because earth is part of our lives. Humanity needs to do better and this poetry collection really reminds the reader to value who you are, what you can do, and what really matters. so many of the poems touched me and made me think. Loved it.
