Description
Everything in Gretchen Booker’s life was as she wanted it. A husband on her terms. Companionship without physical contact. That’s why she married a lifer. Who would’ve thought it would all come to an end after only ten years?
Life on the outside is not as Landon Booker expected. But how can he make a future for himself beyond prison walls when the woman who is supposed to love him wants to see him sent back to the penitentiary.
Crystal Evans isn’t a home wrecker. Landon needs a friend…someone who can help protect him from his conspiring wife. Falling in love wasn’t part of the plan.
Yet vows betrayed leave all three with something to lose—Crystal her heart, Landon his freedom, and Gretchen the life she had before.

What the hell?
I am at a loss as to what the hell was the purpose of this marriage in Gretchen's eyes. This woman was completely crazy. I felt for Landon. I liked him getting his second chance and that he had Crystal to make everything worthwhile. Gretchen put him through some crazy crap.
This is the first time reading this author. The premise was definitely unique. I would have enjoyed the story a little more of what the future was like for Landon and Crystal. Seeing Gretchen get her comeuppance though was definitely nice and well deserved.
I received a free copy of Betrayed Vows in exchange for an honest review. I was extremely impressed with the plot, the writing, and the characters. It was definitely a unique story with a dark side. The author, KyAnn Waters did a great job moving the story into a completely unexpected direction which kept me engaged from start to finish.
Gretchen reminded me of Neegan from the Walking Dead. She could be caring, thoughtful, and compassionate, and then turn vindictive and evil in the "blink of an eye." Landon was such a stand up guy with a high set of morals. It was almost painful to watch Gretchen sabotaging Landon's happiness and his short lived freedom from a life sentence for the distribution of narcotics.
Gretchen's grand finale was definitely a surprise, and as an invested reader, I couldn't be happier with the results.
I was intrigued by Waters's novel, and I look forward to reading more of her books. I'd definitely recommend this book to friend's and family.
