I enjoyed reading this story, but I did feel it was a bit choppy at times and rushed. I would have liked to see it slow down and elaborate a bit more along the course of the book. I also felt the characters really jumped into the proposal out of nowhere which made it feel a bit more unrealistic.
An extremely “feel good” and pleasant romance. Drew Braden enjoys the anonymity that he is afforded by using only part of his full name. For the past summers he has struck up a friendship with Sarena Fallon, a school teacher who opens up the ice cream shop at the Colton Marina during the summer months. Lately, he feels more than friendship towards Sarena and is hoping that she is feeling the same. A gentle yet passionate involvement as the two become more than friends. Will Sarena understand and accept why he had not revealed his true identity? I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
Cute contemporary romance between a Schoo teacher/ ice cream store owner and a rich guy who is hiding his true identity.
Drew and Sarena have something. The spark has been there, It is a cute summer romance to read at the pool or beach, It was light and drama free (minus the evil maintenance guy). It reminded me of a Hallmark movie. Just sweet and fun.
A very quick, lighthearted read. With only 6 chapters, the plot was a bit rushed but I did enjoy Sarena and Drew's story. I wish we could be lasted the whole summer with them! I did like Mr. Martin's comeuppance and what Drew did for Ginny and Billy.
Thank you NetGalley, The Wild Rose Press and Shawna Delacorte for gifting me an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
If you’re in the mood for a palate cleansing, light read with minimal drama and a HAE, this one if for you! I couldn’t help picturing this story as a Hallmark movie with how quick and easy going it was!
This is a very short book and perfect to read between heavier books!
I received a copy of this book to review from Netgalley. Thank you for the opportunity.
This book is a sweet, feel good read just like the ice cream! The characters are likable and the writing is good. The pace is very fast with the relationship developing rapidly. There are some sweet moments between the MC and a nice closing to the book with the ends being tied up in a good way.
The book is quite short with only 6 chapters and passes by quickly so the reader doesn't feel completely submerged into the book's world
I would have liked more development of the characters and more depth which I felt was lacking due to the fast pace of the book.
On the whole, a quick and relaxing read, perdect for summer.
The story follows Sarena and Drew. Sarena is a school teacher who runs an ice cream shop each summer. She and Drew have been friends for the last two summers now. The previous summer ended with a steamy kiss. Drew doesn’t want to pursue a relationship with anyone because of trust issues, but he can’t deny the desire he has to hold her.
This book went by in a flash. I started at around seven and didn’t take my eyes off until I finished at eight. I didn’t even notice the time pass by. The characters both have their up and downs. Sarena is this innocent lady who just wants the best for everyone. Drew doesn’t want to be seen and isn’t much of an attention seeker. I liked the book as a whole.
I wrote this voluntary review in exchange for an ARC copy.
Sarena is a high school teacher and during her summers off she owns an ice cream shop. During the past couple years owning the shop she met a friend Drew.
Drew has some secrets that he especially keeps from Sarena for his own valid reasons.
The two seem to be great friends but a weird relationship as she doesn’t know much details about his life.
The book was a cute, light read. A couple cheesy lines but it was refreshing on just being a short simple story. Think of it as a Hallmark movie, a little rushed into love but technically a longer story than a 2 hour movie. 😊
It was a great in between book to read, as some would call a palette cleanser.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. The opinion given is mine alone and not influenced by anyone else.
This was a sweet romance between two people who are an unlikely couple. Sarena is a high school teacher who works her summers as the manager of an ice cream shop. Drew is the owner of the shop and many other things as one of the infamous Coltens. When he doesn’t tell Sarena and their relationship deepens, will they be able to work past his deception? I enjoyed this story, and will continue to read other books by this author.
A sweet and short read, perfect for a Saturday afternoon. Totally cliché, but there´s a reason it became a cliché: it works.
This was a sweet short read. Sarena and Drew are likable lead characters with some memorable supporting characters thrown in the mix. I enjoyed reading this story and would recommend.
Thank you Shawna Delacorte, The Wild Rose Press and NetGalley for allowing me an advance copy for my honest feedback.
A really sweet story but could have used at least 2-3x the number of chapters and words. The story was so rushed, and you didnt get to really love the characters as much as you could. There is so much potential here for a longer story.
This is a story between Sarena, a teacher, and Drew, a friend that she sees during summer vacations at the ice cream shop that she rents. They've known each other a few years, but Drew hasn't been totally honest with her.
This was a quick read that you can finish in a few hours. As it is so short, it feels rushed at times (especially the ending).
