Description
An iconic rock star with everything to prove. A determined teen runaway with nothing left to lose. When their fates intertwine, the most unexpected journey unfolds.
Adrian ‘Jazzer’ Johnson’s gilded rock and roll career is the stuff of legend. From out of the dive bars of Long Beach, this high school dropout rocketed his band to the pinnacle of success. But after a whirlwind decade ended with him broken and questioning, Adrian disappeared.
Now back on tour after a year in exile, Adrian’s still struggling and under pressure to deliver his next hit. The last thing he needs is to find a teen runaway hiding in his tour bus. As it turns out, Hastings Sinclair is a synesthete who can see music in color. But her offer to help color-blind Adrian unpack his creative block upends their lives in ways they never imagined.
Because Adrian’s troubles run deep—beyond what any song can fix—and Hastings hasn’t been upfront about hers. When calamity strikes, a perfect storm of fates unleashes and caught in the crossfire are Adrian’s band mates, a fame-shy beauty he falls hard for, and a scheming journalist with a vendetta. With everything he values suddenly on the line, can Adrian reconcile his own brash history? Or will he be forced to face the music in a way he never has before?

You will think you are a good person until you read "A Rainbow like you" by Andréa Fehsenfeld.
Johnson had no one to go home to but at least he had his band or that was what he thought.
Andrea introduces a warm but private character with a truly altrusic nature in Johnson and draws out his battles or should I say his goodness. At a point, my heart broke for him. He was headed for disaster, I could see it. I wanted to help him. To stop his fall. I cried for him. I laughed.
A gripping read for good natured people or those who think they are.
A Rainbow Like You is an introduction to a new author for me, and I found joy in this writer’s storytelling.’ A captivating use of character.

Andrea Fehsenfeld tells a romantic story. In the beginning I thought that I was reading a youth novel. But as the plot unfolds, it becomes clear that this is a message to the adults: Never take anything for granted. And never forget that you are responsible for your destiny. “A Rainbow like you” is an entertaining read. Not too deep, but intense enough. I enjoyed the book, and would like to thank NetGalley for having made this review copy available to me.
This book is beautifully written, a sweet description of someone who has loved their life in the spotlight just as it all begins to unravel. I rooted for Adrian the entire novel, as well as for Hastings. A happy ending was well-deserved for all the characters in the novel - my one gripe is the Hastings didn’t get everything she deserved.
Gorgeous book, I really enjoyed it!
