An offbeat romance that will leave readers guessing until the very end. - Kirkus Reviews
First, let me assure you that The Contract is enjoyable and understandable with no knowledge of the other books in the series. With that clarified, the third book in the Sidelined series is an absolute gem! - 5 star review from Foluso Falaye for Readers' Favorite.
There's a lot to unpack, but it's worth a read - Reedsy Discovery

Sadly, I have now finished each of the books in this delicious trilogy! The Sidelined Storyline has been one of my latest guilty pleasures and has provided a wonderful escapist opportunity as of late. I began with the first book and progressed now through the three and I am happy to say that they are very worth checking out! Though The Contract is the final one in that set and it, of course, flows along with what has happened in the previous two books, it can be read, enjoyed and understood as a "stand alone" novel. My personal recommendation, however, is that you read and devour all three!
Again, in this story, we view the turbulent and ever changing lives of Bryn and Shane along with a host of supporting and fabulous characters. I do not want to elaborate too much on the events because I will not spoil those, however, you will see many familiar faces and places (Vegas, baby!) and our fabulous couple ultimately ends up with resolve in their relationship. Granted, I will not detail what that looks like in "the end", but I am satisfied with the ending, overall. Well, satisfied in terms of the story is wonderful....but I would love to have even more!!!
At the end of the day, this is a great book that is meant to be enjoyed. It is more than enjoyable. The writing is snappy (in a good way) and provides a great source of entertainment that you don't have to toil over interpreting meaning. Read this, enjoy it and recommend it! You will not be sorry!!
I have book 1 in the series, but just haven't had the chance to read it yet. The author does a great job so that I feel like I didn't miss out, even though I'm planning to read book 1. This book was as good as a tv show, and this is coming from someone that doesn't watch a lot of tv. The characters deal with real issues. And for someone that's not a sports romance fan, I truly enjoyed the story and I can't wait to read the next book in the series. This was a great and exciting read.
Sidelined: The Contract is part 3 of The Contract series, a romantic story that engulfs the readers in the twisted turn of events in the relationship of Bryn Charles and NFL star Shane Smith. After a tumultuous series of miscues, fumbles, and missed tackles, Shane and Bryn are back together again. However, getting back to the starting lineup means renegotiating terms and this time they believe they have an ironclad contract that secures them a promising future. With a vindictive baby mama, she throws a flag on the play that delivers a blow that not only sidelines them out of the game but threatens to end the season.
The message of strength, redemption, and overcoming was powerful and I loved the way Bryn’s circle bonded around her. Bryn’s open heart was full of everlasting love and forgiveness making her a lovable character. Shane was the epitome of someone getting it wrong and never quite learning to get it right. At times, it did feel as though the book lagged a bit, but as Bryn began to truly go into her emotions and Shane re-emerges, the story elevated and showcased the realities of love and relationships.
Thank you NetGalley for this book and we are voluntarily leaving an honest review.
