Description

Yael is a lethal fixer-turned-sleuth investigating a curious ransom demand received at the Vatican. The irreplaceable Magdalene Treasure has been stolen. But she has a problem. No one can tell her anything about it. Nor about any theft.

The stakes grow higher when Yael discovers a secret. According to legend, in the final years of her life, Mary Magdalene had a prophetic vision of a time when the world would be awash in confusion and conflict. A powerful force called the Quickening would emerge, threatening the very survival of humanity. The only hope lay with the Magdalene Treasure finding its way into the hands of a man and woman destined to shepherd humankind through the travails and set the stage for the return of Christ.

Yael battles scant clues, a ticking clock and cataclysmic events in her search to find the thief and recover the relics.

Will Yael find the Treasure?

Will she discover the truth about the Magdalene Prophecy and all it foretells?

"REVIEW 01

If not already the case, author Shams-Tabriz will be making big news for the recently published first two books of his spiritual-mystery series THE MAGDALENE PROPHECY.

Though I am ordinarily a confirmed nonfiction reader, I admit I was immediately intrigued by the subtitles, QUICKENING (Book One) and THE TREASURE HUNT (Book Two).

Yes, the Magdalene referred to is part of biblical history. The author’s story, however, is fictional. It is an “edge of your seat” mystery constructed around characters to a great extent involved with the Vatican in Rome and its museum treasures. Tabriz paints word pictures of the personalities and events at play in a compelling and believable manner. While there are many surprising twists and turns in the story line, they are plausible and lead to the next revelations the author offers the reader.

The back cover of Book One suggests that The Magdalene Prophecy is the spiritual successor to the acclaimed Celestine Prophecy. This reviewer is in agreement with that comparison, although QUICKENING (Book One) clearly laid the groundwork of a good detective/mystery story about the secret inner workings of the Vatican. Book Two, however, changes that thread when we are first given an intimate portrait of the lead character’s life and, later, a rich spiritual discourse between lighthouse keeper Gabo and Thomas. It is enlightening! Book Three of the series, when published, will be on my bookshelf as soon as I put it down after reading it.

REVIEW 02

A mystery that touches all your emotions

The quickening encompasses the essence of its characters while pulling the reader into a masterful story that may or may not have a resemblance to what is going in our world today. The events are so masterful that it makes one wonder if they can be constructed by a human or something greater. The contemplation is exciting and gives you a thirst for more!

If you have done research on Mary Madeline, you will find her story and teachings intertwined into the storyline. The curiosity of a reader to figure out where might be intriguing and joyful. Although the twists and turns will keep you at full attention and in excitement to turn the pages regardless.

Enjoy the mystery....its worth the read!

This book is very well written and plotted. The ending brings Yael to a broken old man who, thinking she is someone else, begs her forgiveness. It is a very dramatic and exciting scene. Yael finds emotions she hasn't used in a long while.

After a slow start, the book picks up speed. We meet several interesting people along the way.

I want to thank NetGalley and BooksGoSocial forforwarding to me a copy of this good book for me to read, enjoy and review.

Shams-Tabriz has authored an edge of your seat book filled with intrigue and mystery. As the divine feminine moves throughout the history of Christianity, Mary Magdalene life, prophecy and teachings have grabbed the attention of authors and readers like myself and this is a welcomed read.
Yael ( the novels sleuth) is investigating a ransom demand received at the Vatican. With few clues to go by and time running out we enter into a fast paced mystery. Complex characters, twists and turns jump off the pages which makes this an exciting read.

This is a good read for anyone interested in the catholic church and the myths of their hiding the truth about Christ and his teachings. Yael is a lethal fixer-turned-sleuth investigating a curious ransom demand received at the Vatican. The problem no one will disclose what has been stolen. Yael starts investigating and discovers clues to the Magdalene Prophecy. He hopes that whoever stole the treasure will use it for good. This is book 1 and I'm looking forward to book 2, I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I really did enjoy this book and found the characters were very well developed; however, the first couple chapters were populated by endearing characters, then the entire book shifted to someone from a clandestine organization, a killer. Not a spoiler since you learn all this at the beginning of the book.

The story felt unfinished and there were many loose ends. They may all be tied up in book two and three, but I'm not sure I love the characters enough to continue reading. The killer does redeem herself to a degree, but I didn't love her enough to proceed with further books in the series.

This was a fast moving story a la Dan Brown. Yael is drawn into what appears to be a ransom request for two items connected to Mary Magdalene that the Church would like to keep under wraps. As she digs deeper, she realizes this is not a recent ransom but one that the trail has gone cold years ago. As she investigates, she begins to wonder of some of her clues are true and runs into many secrets. A great story that I can't wait to read the sequel.
