I really enjoyed this book/graphic novel. It is written and displayed in a comic style format. The illustrations are excellent. The content is straightforward and factually based, and I would estimate that it is pretty good for a primer / beginner book for a young reader into video games. I think the style of this book is its biggest strength, but I also really liked the content. My favorite part was the console wars bit!!
A comic/graphic book about video games?! This book is practically every young person’s dream book! I especially liked how it was organized and the progression through history. Beautiful work.
Video Games by Tulien and Buisán is sure to please readers with a particular affinity for the title topic. I know many students at upper elementary, middle school, and high school level who would find much to enjoy about this book (and I enjoyed it as an adult reader too). Highly recommended for classroom and school shelves.
