Thank you so much to Arcturus and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.
Oh my goodness this has to be my favourite retelling ever, this book was hilarious seriously hilarious. It follows the usual path of Cinderella but she’s a bit clumsier, then the fairy god mother cannot hear a thing and her spell goes completely ary and makes for this books hilarious title to come to fruition.
This book is the perfect book for kids, it’s beautifully illustrated, the story is easy to read, quick to get emerges into, short and sweet, hilarious and will keep you wanting to know how it’s going to actually end.
This is by far my all time favourite retelling I’ve read, I really loved this book.
Oh man! I’ve read many retellings of Cinderella in my life, but has to rank as the most absurd, funniest and best of them all! I’ve never laughed so much while reading a book!
You already know the basic story. That part doesn’t change. What changes is the approach. Cinderella isn’t the perfect girl we know but super-clumsy. Fairy Godmother isn’t quite as magical because she is hard of hearing. When these two come together, the result is chaotic and hilarious.
I read this book with my children and all three of us were guffawing at the story. What makes the book even funnier is the quality of the illustrations. They are so good and so witty!
This goes in my stack of must-be-reread children’s fiction. Heartily recommended to all independent readers aged 6+.
Thank you, NetGalley and Arcturus Publishing, for the Advanced Review Copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. I relished this read completely. :)
