Who will come out unscathed and who will be Damaged?

I was enamored with book one so when I received an ARC of Book Two I immediately jumped in and couldn’t put it down. The plot captivated me from the first page.
Not only did my love of the strong but vulnerable heroine Bailey grow but having Kashton’s POV gave me a new book boyfriend.
Their relationship grows while both carry guilt and secrets.
The side characters are layered into the story purposely and add more depth and emotions.

The plot is intriguing, suspenseful, emotional and still has the signature tone that only Tijan can write to perfection.

The Damaged will enthrall you and the cliffhanger will leave you begging for more.

I can’t wait for Book Three!

I'm adoring this series!!

I devoured the first two books of this series so quickly, and I'm so sad that I have to wait for the next one because THAT ENDING!! I need to know what happens, you can't just leave me with an ending like that and not expect me to obsess over it!!

I am so going to read more books from this author because their writing style is just so so good, so interesting to read, so addicting and unputdownable! I also love the whole possessive male trope, especially in this books it is done SO well and I know so many will love this series. I can't wait for the last book!!

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the earc in return for an honest review.

Great followup to The Insiders. A power punch from beginning to the end. I can't wait for the next book. If you are not in to cliffhangers, you may be disappointed with this series but Oh my wow! It is one for the shelves! Review is my own opinion.

Tijan did it again! This is the second book in the trilogy that follows Bailey, an IT genius who in the previous book was kidnapped, drugged, found out who her father really was and fell in love with Kash. Bailey is now starting grad school. Kash is at her side and her new family is there to support her. A threat looms from Kash's past and the results are catastrophic. We get to see a softer side of her father and we walk through Bailey's PTSD along with her. The ending left me shocked and speechless!
This book was well written. The storyline was easy to follow. I can't believe the twists and turns that this book took and I am anxiously waiting for the last in the series!

The Damaged was fascinating from the first word to the last.

A few words was all it took for reality to fade and I was fully engulfed inside this world.

I honestly don’t know where to begin, of course I went into it not knowing what to expect, but even so, Tijan delivered an epic read that has my mind spinning.

Bailey’s starting graduate school with bodyguards by her side. Now that the secret is out on who her father is and her relationship with Kash, people have begun to take notice of Bailey everywhere she goes.

She was making new friends while others were making assumptions on who Bailey was and the life she had led to that point.

Bailey’s emotions were delivered with a raw intensity, every one of them left a searing mark inside of me. Tijan’s carefully crafted words, once read, transfuse the emotions of the character straight into your heart.

I was completely mesmerized, I couldn’t stop, one page to the next had your heart racing and your head reeling with thoughts of what was to come.

There was a shift in Bailey and Kash’s relationship, more intense in every way, and more open in others. You could feel the burning chemistry between them with every interaction. They breathed a little easier just by being near one another, and when they weren’t you could feel the heaviness they carried when they were apart.

Kash’s alpha protectiveness reached new levels, and this man’s steamy swoon factor is rising well above the average book boyfriend.

An all time favorite read.

A heady blend of soul searing chemistry, a protective alpha hero, a strong intelligent heroine, intense emotions, spine chilling suspense, heart-stopping shocks, steam, and witty banter to lighten the blows to your heart.

I received a copy of this with thanks to the publisher and Netgalley, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I am so obsessed with this series. Is it part mafia and part billions? Is it a bit dark and spicy? Yes! Yes to all of the above! I need the 3rd book ASAP! There is so much suspense and drama weaved into this story I could not put it down. There were so many twists and turns and none of which I expected, and I am still thinking about this book days later. I am an official TIJAN stan!

Do not read this book without reading book 1 first. This is a continuation not a spin off!

This book starts up where the last one finished and we continue to be drawn into Bailey (genius tech student) and Kash (businessman)’s world. THE DAMAGED is full of action and the cliques are strong in this one. Once I had them all straight in my head, I was able to enjoy the story. I would suggest reading THE INSIDERS first or doing a quick recap if it’s been a while since you read it because we are thrown straight into it.

Bailey finally has the family she’s longed for forever and is slowly feeling her way through what her new life looks like with Kash but she is craving normality. Calhoun continues to wage war on Kash but can he out manoeuvre him?

I really enjoyed this fast paced story with a really likeable strong female lead in Bailey and a delicious, mysterious hero in Kash. There is plenty of steam for those heat lovers here and I did not see that ending coming. It has definitely left me with questions that I can’t wait to get answered in book 3. BUT I have no idea when book 3 is out so I’ll just have to sit on those for a while.

Pick this series for a suspenseful, emotionally charged, steam filled story that is more than a love story but one of family feuds, cliques, drama and more.

I devour all things Tijan. Her books never fail to pull me in and hold me captivated throughout. This series is unlike anything I’ve read from her, and I love it. The characters, the moments, the connections everything is seamless and riveting. I blew through each book with lightening speed. Zipping through page after page unable to stop because it’s too freaking good.

Bailey must be one of my favorite heroines of hers. She’s brilliant and distinctive it’s one of the reasons I love reading Tijan so much her heroines are always something special. It gets so boring reading the same types of characters all the time. Especially female characters. I never have that problem with Tijan her characters are always exceptional and enticing. They reach into your heart and take up residence because they feel so real, so honest. She writes them with such sincerity that you feel like you could be friends with them in real life.

Kash is still a mystery that I want to unravel, with my teeth. I’m dying to know more about him and hopefully have more of his POV in the next book. You do get a little of his in this one and it’s wonderful to see what’s going on in his head. And what some of his feelings really are regarding Bailey. And what Tijan put did not disappoint. You could feel his love for her pour from the pages in his POV it was real and intense. I personally love duel POV for this reason. It gives you the chance to really see into the other characters mind and find out all the little nuances that you miss when it’s only one POV.

Tijan is a master at her craft, she never disappoints. Her stories have the ability to unravel you from the inside out in the best way. And slowly as the book progresses, she stitches you back up one page at a time until a piece of her book lives and breathes inside of you. I don’t know how many of her books I’ve reread, she’s always one of my go to author’s when I’m in a book funk and I don’t foresee that ever changing. If you’ve never read Tijan before you are seriously missing out.

THE REVIEW FOR THE BOOK: The Damaged
GENRE: Contemporary Romance
AUTHOR: TIJAN
TROPE: contemporary romance, romantic suspense
TYPE: The Insiders Trilogy #2
POV: Dual POV
MY RATING: 5.0 Stars

The story picks up shortly where the first one left off. The world has discovered who Kash and Bailey really are. There is no more hiding for them. Kash’s grandfather is moving his chess pieces into position for his war against his grandson. Bailey is starting grad school while still trying to overcome and deal with the trauma that she suffered. Everything in their world is changing.

There is a lot to unwrap in the second book of The Insiders Trilogy. I’ll start off by saying that I enjoyed the second book in the series far more than the first book. I was so happy to see that Kash was given more POV’s than the first book. I think that given Bailey’s unique POV style, it was important to get his perspective on their relationship. I will say that majority of the story is told from Bailey’s POV.

As I was reading this story, I found that there wasn’t a lot of dialogue compared to internal monologue. A lot of the most intense scenes in the story are told from Bailey’s POV as she’s standing by watching. It almost feels as though she’s staging the set of a movie. I felt as though she was describing the characters body language and demeanor down to the most minute detail. I felt like it built up a lot of tension in the scenes. You never really knew how things were going to play out. The writing style can take some getting used to but once you’re immersed in the world Tijan has created, its intoxicating. It’s hard to describe.

The relationship between Bailey and Kash took center stage in the second book. I felt that there wasn’t enough spice in the food book and Tijan really made up for it with the second one. The smut scenes were intense without being overly graphic. There were even some scenes told from Kash’s POV. These are two people who are utterly obsessed with one another and need to be in physical contact in order to stay anchored to their reality. It was intense and I wouldn’t change a thing about it.

The book does end on a cliffhanger. I don’t know what’s in store for Kash and Bailey. I feel like things are only going to get more intense. I worry about them. I have faith that they’ll get through anything but book three is going to be rough.

I was provided an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
