This was such a fast paced read! I enjoyed the characters the are so well developed!
The writing was fabulous, very well written story with an amazing plot and crazy ending!
The plot was fabulous and I had no idea what to expect next.... Which kept me on my toes!

I enjoyed this book, but found the beginning a little slow. Ali Baker, a young bartender, is still recovering from the birth of her son Joe. Unfortunately, while she is recovering, her mother is killed in a tragic automobile accident. When Ali goes back to Norfolk Broads to take care of her mother's home, the mystery begins. I really liked this book. Lots of twists along the way, with a happy ending.

I love the cover of this book, and it perfectly represents the story. Isolated, loneliness, creepy house, and a place you'd expect to find solace, but behind the doors are hidden secrets galore.

The characters are well developed and each has their own voice, distinctive from one another, but I didn't really like any of them. Considering this is a thriller, I wasn't expecting nice people! So I actually enjoyed hating some more than others.

This novel is a good read, recommended and although this is a slow burner, one worth sticking to the end. It picks up the pace a few chapters in, and then becomes hard to put down. The House of the Water's Edge is filled with secrets, childhood drama, and a lot of tragedy.

Good if not a little slow. I enjoyed the characters, even the ones you love to hate. I also enjoyed the storyline and would recommend!

How much does your family history affect you? What family secrets may cause mental illness? Ali doubts her own sanity and gets some answers after her mother's death. The puzzle is nicely designed and there are some unexpected twist along the way and covered crimes of the past are uncovered. All characters besides her husband Miles seemed believable.

This was a slow paced book. Took me a while to get going but I enjoyed it once I got into the story

I really enjoyed this book and though I had read some reviews which said the ending was confusing I didn't find that to be the case, all the ends tied up nicely and i was routing for Ali all the way through.

Ali Baker is a harried new mother grappling with the physical and emotional travails of motherhood. A lawyer in what feels like another lifetime, she is further pushed into a pit of darkness when she receives the news of her mom's sudden demise in an accident. What distresses her even more is the fact that her mom was meaning to share something important with her.

Seemingly in a happy marriage with her husband Miles, Ali realizes that she needs to dig deeper. Away from her husband and an apparently loving but overbearing mother in law, Ali goes to Norfolk Broad to sort out their childhood holiday home- her mom's abode just before she died.

As Ali reaches the scenic country side , memories are revisited and with each passing day she inches closer to secrets anew. From the handsome gardener to the kind old couple Tom and his wife, the country side makes Ali traverse through a rigmarole of emotions while she finds a footing as a new mom while unearthing some dark family secrets.

The book is a slow burn read and what kept me going was the element of mystery which the author has managed to embed quite well. The characters supplement the aura of suspense and Ali's relationship with her mother in law, Tom and even Miles adds to the element of perplexity.

The author deftly depicts how the protagonist steers through grief. The emotional upheavals of a new mom is raw and spot on.

I really enjoyed this book. It was interesting and the characters were all relatable.

I felt sorry for Allison, she seems to be hiding how hard she's finding things. I think a lot of people will be able to relate to her because I'm sure most of us have hidden certain things when we need help. If I'm struggling with anything I don't like to ask for help because it's always made me feel like a failure, and poor Allison seems like she dealing with this.

I also relate to her relationship because I dated someone who couldn't do anything for himself because his mum did everything for him when he lived at home. I feel like this is a very similar situation. He just seemed like such a waste of space and didn't consider how Allison may feel.

Allison's relationship with her sister is really nice, it seems offish but when you discover more about them throughout the book you realise how lovely it actually is.

There is such emotion in this book and I was intrigued throughout. I wasn't expecting the twist in scenario in this book. I didn't see it coming at all.

The House on the Water's Edge is a really exciting and thrilling read. While Ali recovers from the loss of mother while still coping with the birth of her first child, The House on the Water's Edge follows Ali as she uncovers some family secrets with lots of twists and turns. It's a really detailed thriller that draws you in.
