Description
Detective Kennedy "Edy" James is not your average beat cop. She's a member of an elite, secret sector called the PCI. The Paranormal Crime Investigation unit handles cases tied to supernatural beings, or supes, as the precinct likes to call them. Things go from strange to stranger when there's a sudden and drastic spike in human deaths within a nearby vampire territory.
As Edy and her partner, Seth, dig deeper into the case, they discover something far more sinister than just your average rogue vampire murder spree. Supes have always been unpredictable and dangerous. Now something else is brewing under the veil of darkness—but what? They're determined to find the answer, or at least die trying.

This book was ok. I liked the main character. I enjoyed the story line. It was interesting. I was surprised by who some of the bad guys are. I thought the whole love scenario was a bit weak. #SupeSlayer #NetGalley
Detective Edy is part of the PCI, Paranormal Crime Investigation unit, and patrols with her "bad-ass" gun, Supe Slayer. She's a just detective, killing those supernaturals who break the rules and helping the ones who don't. When a Sasquatch is seen by humans, Edy recommends him for relocation and promises to mail him monthly treats if he stays out of populated areas.
But when someone kidnaps her best friend and goes on a killing spree, Edy and her partner, Seth, have to solve the mystery before it escalates. I really enjoyed this paranormal mystery with a touch of romance. Recommended.
It gets better after the main heroine forgets to act like a out of control angry drunk all the time but the hormonal teenager is not much better but there is a good gripping plot.
Kennedy 'Edy' is a recovering alcoholic detective for the PCI, Paranormal Crime Investigation. She comes off as very rough around the edges to almost everyone but has a soft spot under all the hard exterior for a few select people/supe's. Her job is to stop supernaturals from becoming a problem for them to not be seen by humans. When the number of human deaths start increasing around a known vampire territory Edy and her new partner try to find out what is going on. The romance is pretty weak but the plot is pretty good but not at the blow my mind level.
Even if the plot is interesting I didn't like the heroine and the story fell flat.
Not my cup of tea.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
I thought the synopsis of this book was great - another new to me Author to get into - however I was left feeling a little flat with the actual story and main characters .
Detective 'Edy' James is part of the PCI ( Paranormal Crime Investigation unit) her main task is to handle the 'supernatural cases and keep Humans unaware .
When there is a surge in deaths in a Vampire area she investigates with her new partner .......... however all is not as it seems , its not just the usual vampire spree .... just what is going on ?
And when someone kidnaps Edy's best friend she is determined to solve the cases - just what is going on ? can they all survive ?
This had the basics of being a good story but as I said above it fell a little flat for me - I found Edy's character a bit weak along with the story line .
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
