Description

For readers of Waitress, Jill Shalvis, and Jenny Hale―love blossoms in the most unlikely of places in a charming novel about family, first impressions, and finding the courage to belong!

Harper Anderson has a to-do list longer than the Colorado River and fields of tulips to tend at her family’s flower farm in California. What she doesn’t have is time for the arrogant tech mogul who makes her an offer to use their farm as his sister’s wedding venue. No amount of money could make up for the destruction it would wreak on next season’s crop. The sooner Luke Martin is on his way, the better.

But Luke will do whatever it takes to make his sister happy. So when Harper’s newest farmhand leaves her in the lurch, he strikes a deal: He’ll work on the farm for free if she’ll give him the chance to change her mind.

Harper and Luke each expect the other to crack first. What they don’t expect is the chemistry that sparks between them as they work side by side. But just as Harper is starting to let her guard down, Luke stumbles upon a secret that could spell disaster for the entire Anderson clan. With her family’s happiness at stake, can Harper put her trust in a man who is worlds apart from everything she knows?

Another 5-star romance for Alys Murray!

If you are looking for a quick, easy, feel-good read, something along the lines of a Hallmark movie, this is for you! Hillsboro County, Northern California is the home to the Anderson family flower farm. When an arrogant and wealthy L.A. tech mogul arrives in town and makes an offer to use the farm as his sister’s wedding venue, sparks fly and the indignant Magnolia sisters refuse to be controlled by rich people who think they can buy their way into anything. Not the smartest move … the family is struggling and this would certainly dig them out of the hole they are in financially. Can they put their stubborn independence behind them and come to an agreement that keeps both parties happy?

What I liked:
Clean, wholesome romance
Set on a flower farm
Jane Austen inspired
Small town
Family dynamics
Vivid imagery
Dual point of view
Enemy love interest
fantastic cover

Author Alys Murray explores the concept of duty; the Magnolia sisters’ duty to their family and their business as well as a brother’s duty in looking out for his sister. You’ll have to read to discover if, with both Luke and Harper putting family first, they can find a way to bridge the gap or soften each other’s hearts.

If you like cats, this features a sassy orange cat, Bermondsey. If you’re more of a dog lover, you’ll love the Maremma Sheepdog, Stella.

I’ve previously read and loved ‘Small Town Secrets’ and with two of this author’s great books read, I’m eagerly anticipating book 2 in the series, Sweet Pea Summer.

I was gifted this book by Alys Murray, Forever Publishing, Grand Central Publishing, and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.
