I love the illustrations in this book! They are really amazing and crisp. This is a really adorable book about using your imagination to create your own super story.

SuperJoe may be a superhero but he still has to listen to his mother. An adorable story with beautiful illustrations that teach children that even superheroes must follow rules and a schedule. Also teaches that even superheroes can cuddle their mommy. A very sweet story that the smallest superhero would want to read again and again.

Super Joe is the hero we need in our lives right now. He is growing up and is convinced he doesn't need cuddles from his mom anymore because he has important superhero work to do. The world needs him and he's right about that. He spends his time rescuing people around him from the troubles his nemesis the Gray Shadow is causing. However, Super Joe knows how important sleep is to a superhero, and one night when he can't sleep, he welcomes those cuddles from his mother. Get your rest Super Joe and continue the good work!

Very cute, imaginative story about a young superhero who may need his mom more than he's willing to admit. The language, plot, and illustrations are lively and outrageous--there's plenty of energy and laughs. The ending is predictable, but still very sweet. This would make a lovely one-on-one read and could inspire many conversations and "what-if" questions.
A note for US readers: the language is very much UK/Commonwealth English, so several words/phrases may need clarification for young readers.
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

Super Joe is super cute! Even though he doesn't always have times for cuddles with mom she makes sure he has everything he needs to fight off tigers, stop runaway trains, and save people from a collapsing bridge. The final pages of the story were adorable and show that even superheroes and their archenemies need cuddles sometimes. I hope there is another book featuring Gray Shadow more

This is the story about SuperJoe. He wants to do be a super hero without any adult help, especially from his mother. He ends up saving the world everyday with the help of his mom, although he doesn't want to admit it. His mom makes him wear a scarf and he ends up catching a tiger with it. But even a super hero needs a snuggle from their mom before going to sleep.
This is an adorable story. I love how everything is intertwined. The illustrations are wonderful. A great read aloud, especially at night!

This is a sweet story starring an invincible Superhero whose mission in life is to rescue tourists from dangerous tigers, harness runaway trains, and save people from collapsing bridges that crumble over out of control rushing rivers, just to name a few. He is convinced that his nemesis, the Grey Shadow, is the sinister mastermind behind all these catastophes!
SuperJoe is his alter ego name and super feats he accomplishes. Before he rushes out to his next assignment his loving mother attempts to give him a cuddle before he departs. SuperJoe rejects her offer as he is a busy man and Superheroes DON'T do cuddles! But when his busy day is finished, and he can't sleep, he knows the perfect antidote...yep... a snuggle from his mommy. He tells her to keep it a secret because after all what would Grey Shadow think?
The cartoon illustrations are full of emotion and action that kids will love. This fun story encourages imaginative play, friendship, and highlights a beautiful bond of love between a mother and her son. I highly recommend this book.
