This was a cute and quick read that would be perfect for young readers. The illustrations and stories were simple and easy to follow, and made for a great introduction to important historical figures.

When is a board book not a board book? When it doubles as a coffee-table book! Although this is aimed at babies and toddlers, the message is perhaps more powerful for slightly older readers who are already familiar with the biographies of the leaders mentioned in the book. It's still a fabulous little book with colourful illustrations that will appeal to all young readers.

If this is the last picture storybook on the planet, I will gladly accept it. And that too quite inspirational with those cute little illustrations.

So many inspirational personalities from around the world here and I bet you will love reading this one over and over again whenever you need some motivation.

Thank you author/artist and the publisher for the ARC.

Pros: I knew I wanted to read this book as soon as I saw the cover. It caught my eye because Ruth Bader Ginsburg is one of my heroes, and I loved seeing her featured with this esteemed group of leaders. I was also curious to see how each of these leaders could be succinctly portrayed in a children's book because their legacies are so great. My favorite part of reading this book is that I learned about new-to-me leaders like Corazon Aquino and had to take a break from reading to research! I think this book is a wonderful starting place for kids and adults who want to do their own research once they are introduced to one of the leaders in this book.

When reading children's books, I pay special attention to see who is represented in the pages of the book and ask myself if any child reading the book would see himself/herself/themself reflected in the pages of the book. I was thrilled with the diversity of leaders included in this book--men and women of all different ages, races, and nationalities. Also, the illustrations were fantastic.

I can see this book being the first in a series. There are so many more leaders in the world to feature in future books!

Cons: Some of the ideas mentioned might be a bit complex for a child to grasp on his/her/their own. This isn't a negative but is more a suggestion that it would be a book that children and adults could/should read together at first.

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books for the opportunity to read this book.

This truly is the perfect first empowerment primer for babies and toddlers!

I love the idea that there are board books for the little leaders. Our little people, inside and outside the womb, need to listen to stories about braveness, boldness and kindness. When we read to babies and they hear our different emotions and expressive sounds, it supports their social and emotional development. Reading to babies in the womb promotes brain activity and promotes early literacy skills and language development. What a positive way to start learning!

‘Leaders’ is the perfect length for their attention span as toddlers are interested for only a few minutes at a time. This baby friendly board book has chunky pages with bright colourful illustrations, big pictures and simple sentences.

All eight outstanding people mentioned in this book achieved great things and all began life as a child with a dream: Rosa Parks, Greta Thunberg, Martin Luther King Jr., Malala Yousafzai, Harriet Tubman, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Mahatma Gandhi and Corazon Aquino. I was impressed when I read it to my 5 year old nephew and 8 year old niece that they knew all but one of these heroes! They love Little People, BIG DREAMS books and obviously retain what they read.

For older children, it’s a great starting place for further discussions. It’s the type of book that will be read and re-read for years as parents and caregivers can add to the base. It’s also the type of book that can be read to different aged children at the same time because encouraging older children to contribute gives them a feeling of validation.

Stories are a form of love and I can’t think of a better way to inspire and show love than to encourage our little people to become the best they can be!

The Little People, Big Dreams series is full of cute, empowering stories, and this one is no exception. It highlights wonderful leaders of different backgrounds for children to look up to. The book, while short, will motivate young readers to be bold leaders as well.

This was super cute! Definitely a book I'd buy for friends with toddlers, and something that can kind of age up with the kid because it presents opportunities to share more about the featured people once they get older.

This is lovely! A brilliant introduction for younger children, to some of the most inspirational leaders of change throughout history. Perfect for EYFS/KS1.

I liked this book! The illustrations are amazing, great message. The sentences are short and to the point, however, I found some individuals had more context and background and others didn’t. A younger child, who is the audience for this book, might not know some of the people and further context will need to be given. Diverse group or people and could open up conversations!

Little People BIG DREAMS
It all begins with a dream. This little book introduces some people who are known to many and shows what a good dream (vision) can do in the world. Perfect!
The illustrations are eye-catching and very well done. The language of the text is suitable for reading to young people and excellent for ESL.

This is a lovely book for the youngest children. With engaging illustrations, it briefly talks about some leaders and the quality within each of them that led to the designation. The book encourages young ones to imagine themselves as leaders one day.

Just a few of those mentioned in these pages are Martin Luther King, Greta Thunberg, Rosa Parks and Gahndi.

This is a book that gently makes known the need for leaders. It encourages everyone to think big, to notice their world, and to believe in change.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.

I loved the opening sentence from this book, “Hello Little Leader! Let’s learn about braveness and boldness and kindness.”

That is a wonderful way to describe being a leader. I love the people that were selected as leaders. There is so much diversity, but it’s just mentioned in a natural way that this is what the world is expected to be like. Different Races, Religions, Cultures, Sexes, and Beliefs all can be Leaders.

These books are terrific for children, but think if adults read them, they would learn a lot, too. I always do. The pictures make the book even more inspiring and add to the unique quality. It is easy to imagine each character. Love how there was a picture of a refrigerator with post its on it, saying Avoid Plastic, Recycle, and Eat More Veggies. These are messages kids can put on their own refrigerators to help the environment. Simply examples, but powerful ones were mentioned about each leader.

So, I loved this book. It is fantastic for children who want to grow up and be leaders in the world. We need them, too as they are our future. Letting kids know that requires braveness, inspiration, and empathy is a great message. I would recommend this book to all people with young children. This makes a great gift, too. Also, schools and libraries I would recommend having a copy of this book. I am going to buy this book for my cousin who is having a baby. I sent her books last time for her first child, now I will send more from this series.

Thank you NetGalley, Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara, and Frances Lincoln Children’s Books for an ARC of this book. I always appreciate getting to see books from this series.
