Description

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Things We Left Behind, comes a steamy small-town romance between a straight-laced house renovator and the sexy landscaper determined to break down her walls.

Can these opposites turn up the heat… without burning down the house?

House-flipping sensation and YouTube star Maggie Nichols can’t wait to dig into her next challenge. Arriving in tiny Kinship, Idaho, with only a cot and a coffeemaker, Maggie is prepared to restore a crumbling Victorian mansion in four months or less. She has her to-do lists, her blueprints, and her team. What she doesn’t have is time for sexy, laid-back landscaper Silas Wright.

The man takes flirtation to a whole new level. And he does it shirtless…sometimes pants-less. He and his service school-dropout dog are impressively persistent. But she’s not interested in putting down roots. Not when fans tune in to watch her travel the country turning dilapidated houses into dream homes. A short-term fling on the other hand could fit nicely into her calendar. After all, Maggie remembers what fun is like. Vaguely.

As their summer gets downright steamy, Silas manages to demolish the emotional walls she’s spent years building, sending Maggie into a panic. He’s the wrench in her carefully constructed plans. With the end of the project looming, she has a decision to make. But how can she stay when her entire career is built on moving on?

Maggie Moves On by Lucy Score is a great contemporary romance that I thoroughly enjoyed.

I loved everything about this book. The location of Kinship, Idaho is cute, unique, and Idaho is a totally underused gem of a backdrop for this adorable romance.

Maggie, with her commitment issues, fear of rejection, a past, and DIY- renovation talents shows up for her next project. Her plan to renovate, record, succeed, and move on is thwarted by the extremely handsome, sassy, lovable, and at times halfway dressed landscaper Silas. Pair that with his adorable canine, and his uncanny ability to disarm and frustratingly charm Maggie…and you have got yourself a great book.

I loved the character cast, the location, the plot and pacing, the chemistry, the dialogue and banter, the humor, the romance, the progression of the characters, and the wonderful ending. Just perfect.

5/5 stars

Another enjoyable read from Lucy Score!

A competent, capable heroine; a smart, sexy, head-over-heels hero; good families; found families; family drama; a mystery; sexy times; and people figuring things out after life throws them for a loop.

It's a girthy read - but worth it.

Maggie flips houses for her popular YouTube channel show. Silas is a miracle-working landscaper who digs the challenge of Maggie AND the Old Campbell Place.

Loved the callbacks to previous books (Vicky from Rock Bottom Girl!!)

Kinship sounds like a really great place.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing the ARC for this review, which is entirely my own opinion.
